I accidentally bumped into the Macao Museum of Art~ I just saw the exhibition I liked very much! This can be seen in the Portuguese watercolor painting, the paintings are all the previous life! To understand the history of a city, museum museums are a great place to go! Recommended

Valuable public resources are wasted. The pavilion has not been fully utilized and the exhibits are low-end. Admission is free, but the number of visitors is minimal. Not worth going or going to.

Comfortable and relaxing. What is more it is free and not crowded.

The day we visited, it was very nice and quiet. I guess a lot of the visitors don't venture out to the non casino and shopping areas. There was an exhibit of Asian paintings and we stayed for about 30 minutes. It was free and only a short walk from where we stayed.

It is free for entry. A lot of fine art can be seen here. It is just fun to walk around.

From time to time there will be unexpected exhibitions

Interesting public space but hardly anyone using the space. Aquascape with fountain and two sculptures formed central pieces for the space. Architecture looked interesting with strong rectilinear shapes and detailing.

When it is more than 30 degrees outside, it is worth going to the museum and letting yourself contemplate the art in air-conditioned rooms. I suggest you take the lift to the top floor (for me the least interesting) and let yourself be surprised by what will be below

Quiet and spacious museum with lots of cool exhibits! There was a huge Xu Bing exhibition when we visited, and the curators were extremely helpful and informative. Would definitely recommend :)

The MAM is the only true art museum in Macau but has a rather limited collection compared to its international peers and lacks pieces capable of giving a 'wow' factor. We visited in the afternoon and found the museum quiet with only 5 or 6 other visitors. It took us around 40 minutes to make our way through the available exhibition rooms.

On the fourth floor there were two galleries dedicated to Chinese Calligraphy and some nice scrolls and historical Chinese pieces from the 17th century. This was a large collection which is potentially difficult for western visitors to appreciate without sufficient background of Chinese art and knowledge of Chinese characters.

The third floor offered a contemporary art exhibit and featured works of interesting compositions of mixed media, paintings and informally created images. This was worth a quick look but nothing stuck a huge interest for us unfortunately. On the same floor there is a small area where you can find Macau landmarks that have been photographed in the distant past next to more recent photographs. We always enjoy these 'Now-and-Then' themes. Also there are a few rooms on this floor featuring sketches and drawings by George Chinnery from the 1850s. This affords a peek of early Macau from a European perspective and gives an idea of what certain places in Macau must have looked like 160 years ago.

The second floor was closed for renovation. The 1st floor currently houses a temporary exhibition called 'City Face', which features eye-catching print and poster pieces from around the world, each uniquely designed to highlight and draw attention to their respective locales.

Overall we found the current collection in the MAM less substantial than expected, but we look forward to future visits as this museum transforms its mega-space of art.

Admission is free and you get to tour the entire museum. There are certain areas that you cannot take photos though but hey, in the calligraphy section, a fellow Filipino guards there.. so a lot easier to communicate with.

Very small art gallery, but the story layers, and it is free. Macau has many historical picture. The most impressive is brush calligraphy.

From above we can see that these two images all came from Qing Dynasty. Nevertheless, they have different drawing skills. By contrast, Panoramic view of the Macau more focus on the landscape, but the other one just specific draw the characters.
They have totally different drawing style, because the first one is the distant view and the second one is the nearby view. When the Daoguang Emperor met his ministers, in the background of this picture shows the palace in the Forbidden city.
The shape is pretty good to illustrate the surroundings. The other one we can see so many vessels located in the river, and these vessels can reflect that it is not the modern society. At the back of the river, we can see many buildings, and the shadow can represent how it is the either near or far.
In conclusion, both images has the same points, which are they all came from Qing Dynasty. However, they have different the drawing styles and the concentrations.

My friend and I took a taxi on 26 December to the museum and it was closed. The website also did not say that the museum is close and there are no exhibits. The website still mentions that there are ongoing exhibits. Do not recommend their museum or email the museum before going.

In the event of a free guided tour at 4 pm on Sunday, a number of high quality art exhibitions.

Went to the museum twice over the weekend to see parts of the special exhibitions set up as part of Art Macau. Specifically the Renaissance Drawings from the British Museum and pictures by chinese arts of 20th century including well known names such as Qu Bai shu. All well hung and well explained and of course free entry. The missing star is for the absence of any cafe or snack bar.

This was ok. I liked the top floor exhibit for the figurines. Nice break from the heat.

Visited there was for the Panorama of Rivers and Mountains 3.0 animation which was meticulous and elegant. Although it is free of charge but have only a few visitors. When compare with other shopping areas in Macau, totally difference. Hence, it is especially good for someone who like traditional Chinese culture to enjoy the painting quietly.

There was also another exhibition Long Journey: The Forbidden City and Maritime Silk Road, interesting too.

This is a painting called Witness , was painted by Yue Min jun in 2011.The man in the middle of sea was called Idol who is laughing ,eyes closed, confident and his movement is exaggerated. Although he is drowning and the sea is cool because there have a ice mountain at the behind, no one want to give him safety. Some of them taking a photo, the others say hello to him. Finally, I think the painter want to show his opinion about the society, people are indifferent.

Just seeing this exhibition was worth our trip to Macau. This is a digitalized wall presentation of a classic Chinese painting.

Old painting have its own value, watch it detaily so that we can find some cue. As the two picture showed, you can see they were both about describing ancient China but they were drew in Europe style. The first painting s author is T.Allom a foreigner artist at 19th century. We can observe that the pictures within some cue that reflect the society. It showed the nobilities and emperors are having a good dinner joyfully in a beautiful dinner hall with delicate decoration. There are guards and servants around them, there may have a band providing them some music that showed they have a high status in that age. The second painting has the same author with the first one. It showed a view of avenue in ancient China. It is different from the life of nobility. The civilians like to gathering and having fun from a little performance. We can see those labours are watching the performance even if they are working. In conclusion, these two paintings have the same style obviously, it is talking about the same things too. The scense between people and government.

This art museum building is divided into 5 floors. It will hold different types of exhibitions on a regular basis. This year is the 20th anniversary of the Macau Art Museum. Large and small celebrations will be held. The first is the arts held by the Hong Kong and Macau Art Festival. In Shang Zhou, works by different artists, such as Zhang Daqian, Xu Beihong, and other famous works are also held in the British Classics Gallery in the British Museum in Iraq. It s really dizzying. Basically, it s completely complete in two hours. You can suggest to reserve For half a day, if it s an art enthusiast, you can hold different painter exchanges and seminars on a regular basis, so that you can have a deeper understanding of the works of art, and it is very easy to get away with traffic. Coinciding with the Macao Arts Festival, there is an exhibition of works borrowed by famous Chinese artists borrowed from Beijing. There are also sketch exhibitions of Renaissance masters borrowed from the British Museum.

Very good, because there are too few people going to see the exhibition.

The architectural space has a modern feel through the empty space and the display space on each floor in series.

A small and refined place, opposite the sea, you can come out of the museum and take the overpass to take pictures on the other side, in one go, hahaha

There are many exhibition categories and cultural places worth visiting.

There are two exhibitions that are worth visiting recently, but it is recommended to bring a jacket to save the works of Master Ye. This time the two exhibitions are separate. The British Museum exhibition will go to 6th and 30th days, and the exhibition of works of masters of Chinese art in the new era will go to the end of July.

In the past three months, I had watched two excellent performances. There was the Saxophone concert held at Macau Centre, and Indian dance held at UMAC Student Center. There were similarities and differences between these two performances, which was rather inspiring. Performers stand on the stage and show their talent. The performers dedication to their work has really inspired me to better myself with the work that I do. In addition, these two performances were interactive and changed dependent on the audiences reaction. In the shows, I was not only watching it, but also participated in it. They had an emphasis on expression of emotion. The performances would drive your thought, so that you would more enjoy the show. Despite the growing similarities between the two performances in the expression of emotions, they had been depicted very differently through the use of music and dance. Saxophone concern was using music to express the feeling whereas Indian dance was focused on the art of body language. Furthermore, the amount of performers differed in numbers. The Saxophone concert is required the cooperation of the group to bring out the story. In turn, Indian dance had two main characters that did not require the cooperation with each other to finish the show. In conclusion, these two performances were similar in the nature of delivering emotions but at the same time were different through their mode of delivery. I much preferred the saxophone performance due to my interest in music over dance.

Great exhibition on Italian Renaissance Drawings from the British Museum

Such a fun day out for me and my three year old. The gallery spaces are well curated, presenting a great range of local art, craft and contemporary installations. It's not too big that you feel fatigued and the art square surrounding the buildings is really pleasant. I really enjoyed the diverse work on show. The interactive sections of the exhibitions allowed for some fun free play. The guards and reception staff are relaxed, friendly and welcoming to families. Check it out!

Surprising find...i didn't know that such an art scene existed by HK outside of Basel Art Expo. Discovered local artists and found a lot to see. Free admission on public holidays.

The Macau Museum of Art (Portuguese: Museu de Arte de Macau, English: Macau Museum of Art) is a museum located at the Macau Cultural Center on Avenida Xian Xinghai, a new port in Macau. It forms a cultural landmark building with the Macau Cultural Center. The Macau Museum of Art was opened in April 1999 and has become the largest cultural relics and art museum in Macau, covering a total area of 10,192 square meters and an exhibition area of nearly 4,000 square meters. Administratively, it belongs to the Civil Affairs Administration of Macau.

The Macau Museum of Art has five exhibition halls and two exhibition halls. The long-term collection includes the Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Museum, the Chinese Ceramics Museum, early Western paintings and Macao art works. There are also restaurants, cafes, bars, and ticket offices.

I was tired because I was wide, but there were many interesting works.

Waste of electricity, most of the floors were closed

Like any museum that has rotating exhibits I found a visit can be hit or miss. Mostly hits and often fabulous. Definitely a regular stop for every Macau visit

Changing exhibits from time to time is a good place to increase your knowledge.

Building itself was interesting but otherwise a pretty unimpressive museum with a very humble collection.
