LARPSLAYER is a project that identifies startup companies it characterizes as "LARPing" or misrepresenting their technology, then reverse engineers and rebuilds their products as proof. The site states that the rebuilt products are posted as public repositories. It features an archive of these rebuilt projects, lore and origin stories, a news section called "Ye Gazette," and a submission page for visitors to report startups. The site also includes a guestbook, a character sheet describing the project's stats, and a counter tracking the number of startups "slain," average hours to rebuild, total funding of those startups, and total views of associated content. The overall presentation uses an old-web, medieval-themed aesthetic with playful, irreverent language.
