My wife had the "top" sirloin tonight. Ordered it 'medium,' but it came mostly rare. To top it off, there was a huge strand of grissley tendon running through the middle making it nearly uncutable. After re-cooking it, she was able to eat about a 1/4 of the edge. Very little adjustment' was offered. A rather unsatisfactory experience tonight for our 43rd anniversary dinner.
A rough interior, but easily one of the best meals of my life with friendly staff. The baseball cut sirloin date ordered was darn near fork tender.
Excellently seasoned and cooked New York steaks and excellent service. The quality and quantity of food is perfect. You get a great selection of sides from baked potatoes, twice baked, salad, shrimp cocktail, soup and more.
First time being there. Wasnt sure what to expect with mixed reviews, we met some friends there, we were not disappointed Good food very tasty, staff was good, we were there 2 &1/2hrs enjoying our food and our friends staff took care of us as we sat there and talked. We always had full drinks. That place get busy and we had a very nice relaxing time
Went there with friends, great food,,attentive staff, order the battered prawns, my friends ordered steak,
Disgusting! We didn't get a decent bit of food or a scrap of service. Don't go here. This is honestly the worst dining experience I've ever had.
First time going to Land of Magic. New favorite place. I had a ribeye that was outstanding. Great portions. Great atmosphere. And wonderful service as well. Check this place out. May want to get reservations as this place stays busy.
Best steak in Montana. Good service and a fun environment. My wife loves this place!
We did sit down on time, 7:30. Very loud...The dill dip was great, dressings great, and poppers great. We "had" a waitress for a few minutes then she was lost! We got our salads only 1 dressing she forgot the other. I waited 15 mins for her to come back, asked her for a dressing, I said you forgot one, did not say sorry, NO EYE contact. Another 20 minutes later she came back to table oh...I forgot your dressing. That time I got a sorry but as she was walking away. So almost a half hour after getting my salad I was able to eat it. That really set the tone for the whole night! We sat for another 27 minutes before we saw here again. My husband said his flat iron steak was good Their famous twice bake really? So over heated dry and yucky, plastic cheese on top, noted other tables a few people removed the plastic. NOT the place for prime rib. NO taste. Why didn't we stick with the Oasis? I never got any refills at all. The waitress at the table next to us was busting her butt, always talking to her tables. I wanted to have her, she was always so nice. We where their until 9:28 and not because we were having fun. I had a few bites of steak and potato waitress came back I know she noticed not much had been eaten. We got our ticket and left, as far a tip, I wanted to tip the other waitress not ours. We did tip her, if she was good she would have had about a 25 to 30 dollar tip, we do tip for good service, but 10 is all we gave her. Granted it was Saturday night, BUT you knew it would be busy, why not put more waitress on to help things run smooth, I know the cost of extra help, but you lost people tonight. I have NEVER had bad services at the Oasis and they know busy. Last time we ate at you restaurant was 23 years ago, maybe another 20 again and I will be passing on my experience with others.. Waitress #1 is all we could tell had no name that we could remember. Oh and this was our 37th wedding anniversary . Thanks for the memory.
Great Food wonderful Steaks, when I used to work on the MRL Railroad we would order food in the evening. It made sitting on a Locomotive waitng for East bound trains coming from Helena, Mt. A whole lot better than a cold sandwich.
Took a little bit to get our food but, the food was great!
Really good steaks. Needs better signage from freeway for non local folks
Great atmosphere. Great steak. Fantastic service. Highly recommended!!
Fabulous spice on the Angus beef, and the best supper club west of the Mississippi!
Very Good Dinner. The Magic Seasoning is really good.
Absolutely unbelievable!! It's magic, alright. Don't miss this truly great restaurant and lounge although you might need a reservation...call ahead, even from the road, if you can. It's worth it! We were VERY lucky, the owners were able to work us in on a very busy night. I can't rave about this place enough. Find it!
Excellent food, relaxing atmosphere. Steaks are very juicy and tasty.
Minor changes in the 20 years and the quality of food is not one.
Good food, come prepared to spend a decent amount of money though.
Cook doesn't know difference between well and rare.
We had just enough time for the Farm Fresh hand-pattied Burgers - But man were they the BEST !! Expect to spend a little for the quality and do yourself a favor and make Reservations: THEY ARE POPULAR!
This restaurant is a must have, added to your list of places to eat!
It may not look like 5 quality, but trust me when I say, "They never disappoint!" From the "Relish Tray", to the complimentaty ice cream, everything is amazing. The Relish tray dipping sauce is so yummy you'll want to pick up a soup and eat it like soup!! Every time I have had the great fortune to visit The Land of Magic I have left completely satisfied. BEST STEAK EVER!!!! And, who doesn't love a fresh loaf of bread!
A friend and I ate there last night. Incredible steak dinners, prime rib and petite filet mignon. I cannot recommend Land of Magic highly enough. Quaint western restaurant. Great service.
Awesome service and the best Ribeye and fixings that I ve had in a while. You won t be disappointed.
Thank you so much!
Love Land of Magic. The food and service is great. Expect to relax and enjoy the experience.
Amazing food, great service! The drive is awesome
To get there and it was the best prime rib I ve ever had! Will definitely be returning and recommending!
It's kind of pricey, but very very good in the service is impeccable. Definitely five stars.
Outstanding ribeye steak. It was cooked as ordered (medium rare) with great seasoning. The steak was juicy and tender. Tasty twice baked potato, fresh hot loaf of bread, shrimp cocktail and either ice cream or sherbet completed the meal. This was our first time eating here but it won't be the last. We live in Helena so it's quite a drive but we travel past Logan every month or so. We're already planning our next meal there in February.
I used to love stopping here and having a beer and food after shooting at the range. Not anymore. They raised the prices crazy high about 6 months ago. Not even close to worth it now. It's unfortunate because the food is still good, but not at current prices.
Awesome Montana Steak House go there any time you get the chance.
I went here really wanting to like this place. My wife and I had a reservation and when we got there we stood waiting to be seated for 5 minutes before even being acknowledged. After we finally got seated we waited for 15 minutes and watched two groups that came in after have their orders taken before I finally flagged someone down and asked if we had a server. She said they were on it. A couple minutes later someone came over to take our order. I complained to her about the service we were receiving and in the most I don't give a shot tone she told us she's sorry but they're busy. Keep in mind our server was taking orders from people who got there 10 minutes after we did before she helped us and about half the tables were empty. We walked out and went to Sir Scott's Oasis in Manhattan instead. The service and food have always been top notch there.
Best steak I ever had, relaxed atmosphere, awesome restaurant.
Best steak house in Montana awesome service, great atmosphere, everything included in the price, veggie platter, entree' with potato, bread board, soup or salad, or shimp cocktail and a icecream sundae for dessert. Also they have a full line of wines and great beer, Enjoy
You get a good value for what you get. Prices seem high until you realise what you are getting and the cuts of meat are high quality. It is worth it.
This is a steak house. A cute little, way out of the way road house that provides excellent steak. My fave is always filet mignon, which I've had in many restaurants including renowned five star locations. LOM is the equal of them all, for food. My family ordered their prime rib, and after tasting my filet, were set to only order the filet on future visits. The place is usually busy during normal dinner times, and so can get a little slow and a little noisy. The place is a not a top end restaurant in downtown Chicago, but a little roadhouse in a tiny hamlet in Montana keep things in context. The food is great, and that's why you come here. You can spend more and get less at a place like Outback.
Great service and amazing food. A real Montana steaks experience.
Great place to eat. Wonderful "Montana atmosphere" and the servers were friendly and helpful. The food was awesome with large portions. A little pricey but you get your money's worth. I would definitely go there again!
The flatiron steak at the Land of Magic is the best.. great service...
My sister in law came from Colorado to celebrate a special birthday with us. We drove from Helena to Logan for the meal at Land of Magic. The service was ok. Nice lady. The appetizer was delicious. The salad was ok. The twice baked potato was dry and no one finished it. The steak, petite filet was very good, nicely cooked and flavorful. Not as tender as I expected for the price of the meal. This was followed by one small scoop of ice cream with Hershey's syrup. Overall with the exception of the steak, the meal was average. We will probably not dine there again. Not including tip she paid 197.00 for 4 persons.
The stakes are excellent, and the wait staff is superb.
Love it here! Steaks and service outstanding, hope it never changes
Very high quality fare at a reasonable price for what you get. Crisp salad, tremendous steak, and fresh baked bread. If you want a classy steakhouse experience for under 40 dollars per person, this should be at the top of your list
Best steak house I have ever been too. It is where real cowboys go that none of the locals really know about it.
Delicious Steaks... it s a little off the beaten path and hidden away out past Manhattan near Logan/Trident, but it s worth the trip. I ve been there 6-7 times and it s one of the very few places that can legitimately make a grilled steak better than I can. Definitely give this place a try. Oh, the Fried mushrooms are the best I ve ever had try that appetizer while you wear for a mouth-watering steak or Prime Rib!
I cannot sing the Praises of this place loud enough, the steak is absolutely to die for every time, the pork chops are always perfect and I love there twice baked potatoes! I make a point to try to go every other week, even if it is a 50 min drive.
Been 18 years since we last dined there, but even though there is new ownership, it's every bit as good as we remembered. The ambiance is still there, the prime rib is simply beyond compare. Cannot recommend highly enough!
The best steak I've had in a long time; it literally melted in my mouth! This is a great restaurant for excellent food, friendly service, and a great atmosphere.
Called on Valentine s Day at 3 o clock to get a takeout order for pickup at 5 o clock and the lady working the bar exact words no and that s it, I simply said why not and can you please ask why not if I m calling 2 hours ahead. She went and ask, came back and said nope and literally hung up on me. That s exactly how it happened and I I m sad to say land of magic was my favorite place to go and I ve given them many years of service and now I ll never go back. I understand if they are too busy but it s the customer service of how it was handled....
Have eaten there several times, has always been good. We went there yesterday, had the prime rib.
For some unknown reason they apparently rolled it in ground garlic. The garlic was overwhelming and pretty much ruined what used to be some of the best prime around. I could still taste garlic this morning. Maybe it's Italian prime now, instead of Montana prime...
This place is truly a magical place. I went there back in March and a co-worker took me there. He said we were going to the Land of Magic, and I was like, okayyyy......
Well, we go in, and my co-worker was like, "what would you like?" I said, "well, we're in Montana, and we should have steak." He was like, "ok, i got this."
Well he orders for the two of us and then the questions started. First question from the server,
Server: Salad or Shrimp Cocktail?
Me: Shrimp Cocktail
Server: Would you like soup?
Me: yes, what kind do you have?
Server: Broccoli Cheese
Me: yes
Server: baked potato or twice baked?
Me: twice baked
Server: how would you like your steak done?
Me: the right way, Medium Rare
Server: good choice. and....what desert would you like?
Me: what do you have? (at this point, i started to get full just listening to the options!)
Server: Strawberry Shortcake or Turtle Ice Cream. (she hinted at the ice cream)
me: Turtle ice cream please.
Well, after she left, she then came back with our beers (nice and cold) with bread and Veggie Sticks! Shrimp Cocktail were awesome for what they were, the soup was fantastic, the Steak, cooked to perfection, and the desert was icing on the cake! Oh, and the bread, baked fresh and was fantastic!
I could go on and on about this place, but seriously worth every penny and belt notch!
This food was so amazing. No pictures cause we all started eating before we could get to it lol. Employees are very nice.
A half pound hamburger without cheese with french fries was 15 dollars, nothing extraordinary. January 2020
One of the best steak houses in the whole valley, local Montana beef and local people with great service. A must have if you want a good steak, make sure to get the twice baked potato.
Excellent service and excellent steaks. Highly recommend.
Food was wonderful, as always!! We got there a bit late so stayed a little late I'm sure they were chomping at the bit for us to leave but never showed it. Wait staff were amazing and the chief knows his way around the grill all of our entrees were Perfect!! Thanks for a great dining experience!!
The best part of this place is the bread. Otherwise, I don't know how they stay in business. Their prices are insane for what they give you. A few people in our group got the seafood and steak combinations and it was so sad. The steak they gave was tiny and burnt. They crab was COLD. Like ice cold. The twice baked potatoes are really bad and look very unappetizing. The soup tasted like it came from a can and then they heated it in the microwave. And the shrimp cocktail?? It is a layer of celery with a mound of cheap baby shrimps on top and then cocktail sauce dumped on top with one cracker placed on the side.....what?! And the drinks...oh my god they must water their liquor down or something because I ordered a whisky sour and it tasted like water with a hint of lemonade in it. Someone call Gordon Ramsey!!! This would make a great episode on his show.
Took FOREVER to get our food and drinks. Pretty good besides that.
Love this place!!! Fantastic Food! Awesome warm bread with vegetable trays served before your dinner. Prawns and Steak are amazing!!! Great Service
I grew up born and raised in Bozeman but never got to go until tonight. It was spectacular. Great atmosphere. Friendly waitress and the orange "magic" duck was out of this world! #mouthgasm. My date got a filet minion and didn't like how it was cooked. They took it back and remade it and after didn't charge for our drinks and first steak. She said she promised a great experience. That is absolutely exactly what we got. A GREAT experience well satisfied. We will undoubtedly be back!
The food was truly delicious. The people were so friendly and there were some really nice added touches: nosh plate of veggies, shrimp cocktail, loaf of bread and desert accompanied the meal. I had the clams as an appetizer and they were fabulous. The Cowboy Cut Ribeye melted in my mouth and was cooked perfectly (rare). The restaurant was clean, festive and welcoming.
Decent food. Surprisingly their shrimp cocktail is really good.
I think they are running on an old reputation from when the meal was appropriately sized for the price. $41 for a 6oz steak that looked more like an appetizer than a meal and for 4 prawns in the scampi. When I pay that much there should be a few left overs. It took over an hour to get the main course. The famous twice baked potatoes are nothing to text home about. I will not be going back.
Anyone who gives this place a negative comment has to be an absolute idiot the service was excellent and the food was amazing 5 stars
