The agency has potential to be a great place for their clients and their employees but there is a lot of work that needs to be done.

There were some pleasant people there like most of the house managers I worked with and Julie within the main office. Additionally, there were also some people who did their job poorly and didn t work professionally who made it challenging to work there happily. The scheduler aka the one woman who s in charge of where you work, who you work with, and how long you work, doesnt schedule from a logical & professional standpoint but more so an emotional standpoint if she likes you or isn t mad at you, your schedule will seem ok. If she finds some reason to be upset with you, (usually unbeknownst to you) she will target you and start to mess with your schedule and she admitted this fact to other higher ups within the agency which essentially messes with your money and who has time for that in this economy?! At the time of me working there they had a staffing crisis which meant they were staffed so poorly due to people not working, not wanting to work overtime for them or in general, they needed all the help they could get. That aspect of the job burnt out the managers and it trickled down. They over work their employees especially their full time employees who tend to get burnt out which contributes to their lack of performance , frustration and high turnover rate and the clients that these employees care for definitely hear about the unhappiness of these workers and pick up on that negativity caused by the employees frustration. All of these factors resulted in them raising the rate for new employees trying to obtain anyone that seemed somewhat qualified for the job when in reality it takes a special type of person to work with people who have special needs & be good at it.

I believe they should take the time to listen to their employees and come up with a realistic & productive solution because if they continue to ignore their employees their business and most importantly their reputation will continue to decline. The clients and their employees essentially make up their business therefore spending the time to contribute to the needs of both would do them some good.

All in all, I loved working there with almost all of the clients and co workers but due to the way Lakeshore runs their business and management handles issues, I didn t enjoy being employed by them. I will miss all the amazing clients that I worked with though. They deserve the best. Lakeshore on the other hand, needs work.

I have worked there for approximately 6 years. Staff at the agency are very motivated and into their work. Lakeshore provides many very valuable services to the community, especially to their consumers. Also, management is very supportive of their employees and truly cares about their consumers. Throughout my employment at Lakeshore, I have witnessed so many instances of consumers there become empowered and instilled with hope of living the life they have always wanted to lead.

I requested to use my vacation ( mind you I work 3rd shift) they denied it bc they said it was during the week of inspections. Next they sent me notice of my physical and mantoux due by April 23.. however it slipped my mind. They ALLOWED ME TO WORK THAT WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY NIGHT then suspended me Friday,Saturday and the following Wednesday til I got my physical done. I think that was bs bc why would they allow me to work past the 23rd if it was mandatory that I got my mantoux? It was all a set up to keep my 53 hrs of benefit time! Then to find out by another employee that the reason I didn t get my benefits is bc I didn t work my 2 full weeks before resignation ( due to a suspension) THE STATE NEEDS TO FULLY INVESTIGATE THIS PLACE!! AND DO RANDOM DRUG TESTS! WHY WAS I ALLOWED TO WORK 2 days without an updated mantoux LAKESHORE??

Lakeshore is a great place to work, they treat there employees VERY well, great pay and benefits, management is wonderful. I have been employed a total of 12 years with LCS. They pay the most out of all the agencies in the area, and there bonuses and staff appreciation far exceed any other agency in the area. They treat there clients very well and they are all around a great organization. I would recommend my family and friends to lakeshore. They are handling the pandemic the most responsibly out of all the other local agencies to keep staff and consumers safe.
