Brilliant hotel staff make this hotel they are so friendly

Restaurant is perfect there is not a lot of choise for the vegeterian but the waiters are very kind and nice no vegan choise

Love going to this hotel staff and fellow guests are friendly

Lovely Hotel. Very friendly and very well run. Fantastic location on the beach. Good facilities. Have stayed many times and will continue to stay many times more. Go and you will see.

If you want British food away from home home it's the place to be. Dont expect Gambian food.

Beautiful location on the beach, garden's and birds lovely to see, staff excellent will do anything to make your stay the best, food very nice good choice with four different eating area's. BIG problem the cleanliness of the eating area's the main restaurant where you eat breakfast and dinner very dirty sausage on the floor for 2 days milk left on tables to be use by every guest that sits on that table not removed and replenish at the end of the breakfast poured back in to milk carton when I spoke to General Manager he answered why is it a problem table cloth with stains on it still on table four days later staff wiping tables with napkin guest had just wiped mouth on. A lot of S&D in hotel at least 10 cases I got to hear off in my 2 weeks stay. Hotel Kombo get your staff re-trained and your hygiene brought up to standard. I work for a hotel so I am aware how easy this is to resolve down to General Manager cutting wrong corners.

Have been for 7 years and we go for 4 weeks in November /December and 4 weeks in February /March that will tell everyone how much we loved it we are going this November but I will, not be going back as they alter the rooms we More

Really nice hotel.The staff were courteous,The environment was clean,food was great and I look forward to going back there.

It was a fare experience. Most of the staff was professional, but a few of the staff were less than polite. I guess I'm at fault for not reading there is a charge for a guest visiting the room for ANY length of time, even 5 minutes, family or friends.

Great location, excellent food and drinks and wonderful staff. Remember this is Gambia don't come expecting uber luxury. Be mindful of the political and economical climate and the rest will fall into place.. A great base to explore and take in the rest of the Smiling Coast

Rooms were ok, but not magnificent. If you have the mindset as me that a room should just be good to sleep, it's enough. The rest of the hotel was really great: tasty buffets, good restaurants, good cocktails, nice beach with comfortable chairs and security, friendly staff, fun activities, reasonably sized (but very clean!) pool.

Great place to stay for exploring Gambia enjoyed everything shame the food wasn't up too much but plenty of restaurants within 2 mins walk

Amazing experience, the hotel is lovely as well as amenities, it loses a star from me because of the state of the wifi.I paid extra to have it in my room and it was so bad, I couldn't send a very important email and eventually had to leave the hotel to go somewhere else to send it. The wifi should be improved as this will determine my next choice of kombo beach next visit to Gambia

Very nice place. Basic by Western standards, but actually well equipped and good facilities. Well located and right in the beach.

Near the beach, big hotel. 264 rooms. Precisely fenced area with security guards on duty 24 hours a day. Good, friendly service. Food good. One and a half times the local price level. Every evening local talented performers. The best hotel in the Kotu region

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Kombo Beach Hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful. A great hotel of you want to just chill and relax. There are a number of different activities that you can do while in the hotel. Activities such as Water Aerobics, Volleyball, Table Tennis, and even Gambian cooking leasons to name a few. They have a great bar that shows sporting events. I would definitely stay there again.

Very nice hotel. Located on a wonderful beach. Not a party hotel but we liked that. The staff was very nice and helpful. A woman at the front desk and one at the bar side of the reception were very nasty. But our room cleaner was absolutely fantastic. NOTE! Don't switch the hotel, very bad course.

When arriving at hotel surrounded by call girls which does not do the hotel any favours

My sister and I stayed at the Kombo beach hotel in February 2018 and we loved it, the staff was friendly, everyday you was greeted by the staff. its definitely the staff that makes your stay so enjoyable it wasn't the two white men that you we saw every morning at breakfast who looked so miserable. I suppose they were Management The hotel does need updating but we was happy with our room it was clean and tidy. We looked at other hotels in the area and the kombo in my opinion was the best. My only criticism is when you come down for breakfast or dinner there was no where to sit and these 2 white men standing there looking like policemen. We will be definitely coming back later in the year but there was rumours that the hotel is closing for 6 months and the staff is not going to be paid for 6 months...outrageous.

Okay standard of the rooms, nice with AC but wifi did not reach so well to the room or beach but worked cruelly in the lobby. The staff is cozy, fun with various activities and entertainment on day and evening. The breakfast was cruel

Informal hotel with nice staff. Do not expect the European standard of a 4 star hotel. The hotel is right on a beautiful beach. The fruit ladies sell delicious fruit at a fixed price. The juicemen sell delicious fresh juices. Make use of it, that's how you support the local people. It really does not make you sick. In the Barracuda Bar of the hotel you can eat delicious food at a reasonable price. We are not a fan of the buffet in the large restaurant. A delicious and extensive breakfast.

Hotel was lovely and grounds were well kept, however my partner did get food poisoning from the barracuda bar after eating reheated chicken security on the beach is a God send to keep bumsters from hassleing too much although some also take back handers! I didnt sample the pool but the area looked clean enough, beach area is kept lovely and clean. I would go back.

All our group of 4 plus other guests had Gastric Enteritis, kitchen and dining area filthy and unhygienic, food left on the floor for at least 2 days, manager denied everything and refused to walk around with us until we produced photographs of our first week. Rooms tired but acceptable, staff friendly but don t bother, pay the extra money and go elsewhere

Nice hotel in very nice location! Immediately on the beach. Do not pay attention to details, you are in Africa, but it is so nice to be here in the Gambia. Go to the beach and ask for your fruitlady Fatima, she will prepare delicious fruit dishes for you. The staff is fantastic friendly. The absolute must is the masseur in the wellness! He is top notch and ask for an African sports massage!

A good hotel for African standards. Friendly staff and a nice beach on the doorstep.

Nice resort. Dated but clean. Right on the sea. Remember that it is Africa.

The hotel may have gotten a bit long in the tooth, but unlike other modern facilities, it has a certain colorful African charm. The breakfast buffet is huge from standard to the point that you can have your scrambled eggs personally prepared with all the ingredients. The rooms are big enough with a balcony, the gardens are clean and well maintained. There are sports facilities such as a fitness room in the open area, tennis court with instructor, volleyball on the beach, water aerobics, zumba, sand painting, various restorations, games and books to borrow, a small souvenir shop, friendly and courteous staff, so what more do you need? If you want to rest in front of the "salesman" chatting on the beach, you can make yourself super comfortable by the pool, where there is also a service for drinks, snacks, coffee and cakes. In between you can get your tired bones back on their toes with a table tennis game.

Had a nice holiday. You will be spoiled by the service and it does not matter where you ordered something. So also on the beach. Beautiful gardens between the buildings where the rooms are situated. Incidentally, only 1 floor, so no disturbing high-rise. Downstairs the rooms have a terrace where you can sit and relax. We will definitely be back.

Just spent 2 weeks at kombo beach . My 2nd visit to this hotel. The gardens are kept beautiful here. I booked the standard room and badou was my wonderful cleaner . It was great to come back to my clean room so many thanks to him ! There is a vast choice at breakfast and was persuaded to try my first waffle ! Loved it . All the staff are friendly with a traditional Gambian smile !!!! They are a credit to the hotel ! Pool was a little cool but is kept very clean . Security did a good job keeping the beach sellers away if needed. A polite no thankyou does the trick most times . Had a couple of chicken sizzlers in the restaurant which was delicious. Liked to have seen soup of the day or jacket potato on the lunch time menu . Maybe we can have it next season ????
Lastly a big thankyou to the manager Mr. Hoffman for his hard work looking after the hotel ! Will be back next year

One of the better tourist hotels in Gambia but does try to sell you all kinds of private business an extensive renovation and waiters ...

I had a good childhood memory of this wonderful with my sister, nephew and niece. Its reminds me of those days. The staff are friendly and the last time I visited was in 2015. It has been awarded the best hotel this year. Keep up the good work.

A great beachfront hotel and a really great breakfast

Helpful people and a clean hotel. Breakfast consists of 3 different menus. Rooms are well cleaned by the staff. Birds, monkeys and other smaller animals are fully present to keep you company. Overall a great Gambia experience.
