I used Ipsos HK as a client and held a high regard of this company until today. This afternoon I just came from a job interview with Ipsos HK. Their HR Manager Betty Chan really gave me a very poor impression of this company. Instead of focusing on the job I applied for and my experience, she likes to ask me who I know or don t know at Ipsos?? How does it matter??!! I wonder how it is relevant for a job interview?? It s very unprofessional for the HR professional to fish for information about other people and discuss these individuals during a job interview. Obviously she is one of those idiots who never understand that any candidate could be an existing/ potential client.

We attended a presentation by Ipsos today. Their dept head Janana Costa introduced their in-house syndicated service to us. We are a consumer goods company and I don t think she has any understanding of our business at all. In fact, she couldn t come up with any reasons to use their service! I bet she never worked at client side before. And if you talk to her for 3 mins, it s very obvious that she knows zero about the Chinese market either. Overall very unimpressive!
