Maura was absolutely fantastic, as well as, the rest of the staff! We had such a great dinner surrounded by great company as if we have known all of these girls for years. The gluten free menu was the most extensive I have seen and their garlic bread was incredible. So happy we decided to go there tonight!

Had a highly anticipated dinner there last Saturday night, November 16th with 3 couples. When we arrived at 7 PM we had to wait 30 minutes for our table even though the reservation had been made by a very old steady patron! When finally seated it took an inordinate amount of time to get a waiter to take our cocktail order and give us menus (35+ min.). A bus boy gave us water long before our waiter arrived! Upon arriving our waiter informed the couple that are the steady patrons, that there were only 3 orders of the Fish Special left, that happened to be Stuffed Flounder. So 3 of our party ordered them. The waiter disappeared, evidently to put that order in but had not taken anybody else s order for anything, including cocktails! When he finally returned he took our drink orders and left again! Finally after what seemed like 30 more minutes, our cocktails arrived and he took the rest of our party s orders. We were served there Famous Garlic & Olive Knot rolls, but they were ice cold! After 10 more minutes we caught our waiters attention and asked him to please bring us Hot Knott Rolls! The second basket was brought by the bus boy and were also cold! At this point, the frequent patron was getting quite annoyed and somewhat embarrassed and proceeded to explain to the inattentive waiter his frustration with the Service and the Cold Knot Rolls for the second time! Upon returning with the 3 basket of Cold Knott Rolls that he said had been personally been attended to by the Chef/owner, his answer was to say I ll take them off the check Of course the Knott Rolls are free so this very sarcastic remark by our waiter just exacerbated the situation! When our appetizers and entrees finally arrived they all looked like they had been sitting under a heat lamp for a while! The sauce on the 3 orders of Stuffed Flounder was congealed and did not look very appetizing, and the other Veal Dishes we re only so so! The Veal medallions was thick and rubbery!
In defense of this once excellent eatery, we were there in November which is somewhat off season for the area, and the staff might not have been the A team. But there is no excuse for poor quality food and unprofessional, sarcastic service! It will be a very cold day indeed, before I give Il Cap s as it s known, another chance! So sorry to see what used to be one of the finest eateries in the area, fall to this level!

Dined there last evening and both my husband and I were disappointed. The food is quite mediocre. The "special spinach salad" had good ingredients (butternut squash excepted) there was not a flavorful dressing and it was like eating everything raw and separately. My Capellini Gambari was fairly tasteless with mostly tomato marinara lacking any dominant flavor.. My husband's veal marsala was flavorful but the meat was not tender and was served on the cool side, barely heated. For the line of people waiting to get in, and the prices, we expected better. We felt as though we had eaten but not dined within 45 minutes.
Presently it is not on our comeback list.

Had a great dinner here, from the garlic knots to the burrata to the fettuccine Alfredo. Have to take off a star, though, since even with a reservation we waited for at least 20 minutes past the time we had set up. It was also pretty noisy inside and difficult to hear each other. Menu was very affordable, though, and would recommend if you want some tasty Italian food and aren t in a rush.

My family and I walked in on a Sunday night and we felt transported back to Italy with the feel and the smells. It was seriously a fantastic meal and wonderful service. Everything was perfect. So glad this place exists. Honestly competes with classic style Italian food in the city as well as clearly comes from a home made Italian kitchen in Italy.

If the weather is nice outside, the white table cloth sidewalk bistro tables are prime property! Luckily for me, I arrived at just the right time and was able to score one before the Saturday night dinner rush arrived. That being said, service was pretty wonky and slow - multiple tables were voicing complaints about absent wait staff. However our waitress offered a drink or dessert on the house for the lacking service, so all was salvaged. Can t go wrong with a pasta dish from here and the complimentary garlic knots sets this place a part from the rest! Great date night spot if you re in Sag Harbor

This place was phenomenal!! Went on a Saturday night with my boyfriend around 8pm - the restaurant was busy, had to wait ~30 min for a table. Not so bad as we didn't make a reservation and just got some drinks at the bar. Our waitress was quick, knowledgeable, and fun! We each ordered an appetizer along with the garlic knots which I cannot put into words how delicious they were. After ordering, I asked her about the daily soup and she told me there was no way I would be able to eat a soup with everything that I ordered and she was 100% right! I appreciated the honesty from her. The food was incredible, the wine that was recommended was delicious and it came in a cute little carafe also. I honestly wish I could eat here every night! Perfect date night, can't wait to go back!!!

It does not get any better. GARLIC ROLLS FROM HEAVEN (or hell, depending on your diet plan)... The fettuccini Alfredo was (pre vegan) my favorite. I love the atmosphere. If I ever choose to go back to eating unhealthy delicious food, I MOST DEFINITELY WILL GO BACK HERE...

This restaurant is entirely underserving of it's current 4.4 star rating on Google. It would be appropriate if there was a minus sign in front of that score. There is nothing traditionally Italian about this joint -- unless you consider American pizzeria food the pinnacle of Italian cuisine. What you should expect at this restaurant, as opposed to the overly glorifying reviews (which I'm stupefied to find on here), is nothing but sad, mediocre pizzeria-quality food served at exorbitant prices. In retrospect, the highlight of the meal, which is the free garlic knots brought to the table, now serves as an accent and clear indicator of the pizzeria experience.

To readers familiar with the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, the decor will immediately recall The Bistromatic spaceship piloted by Slartibartfast. This quaint idiosyncrasy is not enough to redeem this place from it's otherwise drab and funereal ambience. Unless you're one foot in the grave already, this place does not want you. The service is as stagnant and slow as the average crowd member.

I've given this restaurant several chances to redeem itself, and though my expectations are low each time, I am now sincerely baffled by the lack of passion in Il Cappuccino's food.

We went here with a large party of 20 and hired a room upstairs. Given the price we paid and the 20% tip that was expected for a private room the service was average at best (people poured their own wine and we had to move our own tables to make the seating arrangement work). Considering the other incredible dining experiences we'd had in Sag Harbour for similar prices, the food was bland and dissatisfying - some fun garlic rolls really can't save overcooked fish and uninspired pasta sauce.

Hands down the best experience in the Hamptons. Great food, friendly service. Amazing garlic rolls. Private seating available for a more intimate setting, large tables available for groups or sit at the bar and enjoy the company of the bartender and hosts.
My recommendation, order a pasta dish and a side of meatballs (so yummy), you'll rarely finish the pasta dish in one sitting and the leftovers from the pasta plus the side of protein makes for more than a complete meal tomorrow.

Food and service are outstanding. Charming and cozy place in a quiet area off the beaten path. The only criticism I would give is that $36 for a small carafe of house wine was a bit pricey, but then again, all restaurants mark up their alcohol tremendously and this is Sag Harbor after all.

This place is okay. For the prices they charge, they really shouldn't set tables with lipstick on the glasses. The food is just okay. Nobody at our table of six was impressed enough to offer anyone else a taste of their food. Two of our six were kids and the bill was $250. We drank house wine. I guess demand is high enough around her to have a mediocre restaurant and succeed, but I'd rather hit Arby's 15 times than go back here.

Stay away. Average food. High prices. We waited an hour and a half for food after we were seated. Got appetizers at the one hour mark but that's it. When we questioned where are entrees were at the 90 minute mark, we were told that "everybody waits that long" and there was no manager to complain to. When told our entrees would take at least another ten minutes, we asked for check and left. I should point out that at the time, the restaurant was half filled and the time was 9:45 pm. Not exactly prime time.

This is the classic Italian restaurant. We arrived about 9pm on a Tuesday, place was packed, but we were seated within 5 minutes. We were greeted promptly and our servers and attendants immediately brought us some wonderful homemade garlic bread. Water glasses were never empty. White table cloths and jazz in the background. Indoor/outdoor dining. We ordered some specials and some items off menu. Mixed drinks were great. Servers were very friendly and hard working. Food was great. Temperature 10/10, flavor 8/10, presentation 7/10, decor 9/10, price vs value 8/10. This is a great dinner date spot that won't break the bank.
