Waste of gas and time! Thought I'd drive from 2 towns over to help support a store as not huge like the two other big ones out there. Brought my part that needed replaced, was surprised there was about 6 or more workers milling about the front on a Thursday. Showed one lady my part and she said they don't carry it, meanwhile a man one a computer told her it was aisle 3. She stared at me after repeating Aisle 3 even after I hinted can someone show me. So I had to go find the aisle myself and was shocked to see there were multiple different types but all in boxes so I couldn't compare it with the part I brought in. Had 0 idea what I was doing or what I'm looking for. Tried scoping out an employee but they were all talking near the front. Felt discourage and walked out empty handed. On my way to the big chain store down the street. Thanks for nothing! Terrible customer service.

Very simple: If you're looking for a good selection of merchandise Hanks is great. If you're looking for friendly, courteous service from employees with a nice attitude and an experience that leaves you feeling appreciated as a customer you'd have better luck at a state penitentiary!

(as according to when I called the store on dec. 10, 2014)

Personally I like hanks, they're just like any old hardware store back in the day. The people there know a lot, but often time they're hard to find, the place is big and they don't seem to be just walking around looking to help people but they usually seem busy so I understand. However, I do spend a lot of money there, going at least once a month and the only actual rude thing that keeps happening is with the cashiers. Maybe it's just because every part of Temecula I've been in, seems to hate teenagers regardless of what they do, but the ladies on the cashier will be smiling and talking to customers up until I get to be next in line. I'm a semi regular customer and all I ever get from them is from being happy straight to looking almost angry at me, and just staring me down until I'm done paying. It's very uncomfortable. I work as a cashier at my job and not saying a word to a customer that is handing you money is something that can make me lose my position. Anyways, I still like the place; they have better lumber and hand tools than anywhere else within 40 miles or so.

Hanks is awesome! You can always find what you need at Hanks. They have everything! From nuts and bolts to the hard to find stuff. They have lots of wood, moldings, fire place logs, paint, tools and so much more. There are also lots of employees running around silling to help.

I love this store. It's a good old fashioned hardware store with plenty of selection. I like that I can find things here that aren't at the big box stores. Another plus is being able to buy materials that are not in prepackaged sizes. I needed 30" of hardware cloth; they rolled out 30" and cut it for me. At a big box store, I would have had to buy a whole roll. Another plus is it is quiet and enjoyable to browse in. -WE

For years I've relied on Hanks to carry the things that stores like Home Depot and Lowes can't or don't carry. Prices are sometimes a little higher .. but you get what you pay for, which includes knowledge and expertise. Love this store, Always a pleasure to visit.

I work on miscellaneous small projects (a lot of them custom models). If I can't find it anywhere else, I can find it at Hank's. The staff listens to you and does their best to help you find something that will work. I have only had one time (and it was a really out of the ballpark order) that they didn't have the stuff to help me.

Worse customer service ever. Called to find out if they had a part in stock and was put on hold for 10 mins on the phone only to be answered by some lady that seemed nothing but illiterate. And told me to go on hold for another 7 mins amd then get hung up on with out even a word said. Will not be going back

When I'm on a job and the hardware that I am working on is older discontinued or just not carried by Home Depot or Lowe's usually I can make a phone call to Hanks and they'll either have the entire piece or a bin full of parts of those pieces that I can scavenge to make work for my job these guys are incredible when it comes to saving my butt in a pinch they have a great selection and their staff actually knows what's on the Shelf how it's used in the field and even give me tips and pointers about the purchases I've made they are a true Hometown Hardware Store

My favorite place to shop for parts. Hank takes care of his staff and they take care of me. I love that they close at 5 and give employees Sundays and holidays off. They deserve it! I'm there several times per week buying parts (I build furniture). If they don't have it, they will order it for me. I can always find or get what I need and their pricing is better than those other places!!

Hanks is the place! Anytime I have a project with specific hardware needs, Hanks is the only place I seem to find what I need. From the highest quality hardwoods, to those hard to find gate hardware pieces, to custom metal fabrication parts. Hanks has everything! Get there early enough, and you might have Hank himself ring you up! Keep up the good work guys!

Hanks has it's bad and good points. I think one of the best points is that they have an awesome selection of hardware (screws, nuts, washers, etc.). The paint department is also well stocked with stuff you would expect should be at the big box stores, but isn't. They also have a pretty decent selection of wood. They carry Baltic birch plywood and lots of other sheet goods. I'd give them five stars but their lumber guys couldn't cut a straight and square cut to save their lives, and it ends up costing me extra money every time I need wood (because it won't fit in my truck unless it's cut). They have a great Sawstop cabinet table saw, and it must cost $3000.00+, but unfortunately nobody knows how to use it. None of them know how to adjust blade height for the thickness of what they are cutting, and if you've spent a lot of time behind a table saw, you'd just laugh at the way they throw the wood through their saw. Maybe they just don't care, but at $1.50 per cut they should. Make sure to account for their lack of cutting skills if you have them do cuts for you. Leave some factory edges so you can square things up when you get home.
