Great spot for breakfast or lunch. Under shade with good food and decent wine. The Kilyx red is a gem. Very unique 3 redwine and icecream pairing that actually compliments each other amazingly. Nice open spaces for kids. Strawberries seasonal on sale from farm.

Have been there yesterday after 3 months...very much looking forward to our beloved calamari salad..we had ordered 3 main portions of it and have been so disappointed...the salad was laying powerless on the plate, the paw paw was cut in very thick slices and the complete salad dressing was so salty, we couldn't eat it. Have asked for new salad, received one plate of green leaves, nothing else...no deduction on the bill...not even a free coffee. Very disappointing. Shepard was very friendly as usual and to sit under the big palm is always fantastic...but we will have to think, if we will go there again. There are many restaurants around...

Service was terrible from the kitchen. I went there this afternoon. 7 people. Arrived 1.15pm food came at 3.20pm. 1hr wait between starter and main course. Left at 3.45pm. Their signature dish was duck. Overcooked! Yellowtail was the line fish and was also overcooked. I believe there needs to be fewer tables because obviously the kitchen cannot cope and everybody had lengthy wait times. When I informed the manager. She replied with " well u had starters". I will never be returning.

Lovely setting. Very popular so best to book. Owner/manager friendly and very hands-on. Quite busy for Sunday lunch lots of big groups so food a bit slow but was offered complimentary coffee because of the wait. Food nicely presented and tasty.

Good coffee reasonably priced. Lovely outdoor tables really well spaced out. Toasted sandwich was enjoyable, but soup overpriced. Friendly helpful staff.

Excellent food and a pleasant place to spend an afternoon. I had an exceptional trout. The service was great. The wine is well-known for being a grand quality. Special mention on their red blend, which has rich body and a low tannin level.

We visited as a large group on the 3rd of December had an awesome time. Food was amazing and the wine was superb the best I have had this year. To the Chef and Winemaker and proprietors of Somebosch all I can say is keep it up.

Sommerbosch is (almost) still an insider tip. An absolutely adorable little winery on the R44 between Somerset West and Stellenbosch. Delicious, honest food and once the wine !!! The boss is awesome. You feel like home. The rest of the crew is just adorable. At the appropriate seasons, there are probably the tastiest strawberries and the most beautiful sunflowers for sale. Please do not tell anyone!

Kitchen closes at 4pm even though they advertise 5pm closing everyday. I've been here for wine tasting and ice cream pairing which was nice but i will be back for their food as i have only heard good things and i love the atmosphere.

We had a lovely breakfast in pristine surroundings at the Bistro. Good service. Would have given a 5star review.....but the only valid complaint is that their Cuppchinos served must be the smallest in town. Please get bigger cups!

We had a big family breakfast at Somerbosch on a hot January morning. The venue offers seating under huge shade trees where it stays cool and pleasant. Social distancing is easily maintained with tables well spaced. The croissants with either salmon or black forest ham were excellent and service was friendly and efficient. Somerbosch is very popular with cyclists because it is a good starting and finishing point for mountain bike rides. Somerbosch offers good value and I strongly recommend it.

Lovely wine & ice cream pairing for R70. They are usually very busy and reservations are recommended. More staff is needed to satisfy demand. It just felt a little rushed. Service was good and staff is very friendly and the pairing was very pleasant and flavourful. Their wines are always very good. They also sell massive sunflowers for R8 a flower. Would definitely recommend it!

Place to visit if you want to have a early morning breakfast under the trees. Each breakfast also comes with a complimentary coffee/tea or juice which is a bonus. The food was great and the staff were friendly. Would visit again.
