The place is crazy-loud, the food is just OK and the prices are on the high-side. I won't be coming back. There are plenty of other restaurants downtown.

The person who seated me was fine. After that, I sat for a while until a "server" showed up and explained she hadn't been to the table because she thought I was waiting for more people in the party. Lame excuse for poor service. I then ordered poke and muscles. The poke was OK, but not especially good. Then the lame "server" took my plate and put the used fork on the table for me to use again. At these prices, I expect a fresh fork for my new plate. Then the muscles came. 8 muscles in a "Ragu" sauce with a loaf of bread. I couldn't get out the place fast enough.

I'm with my friend in Chicago visiting and we wanted to visit a spot for a late night bite. We discovered this gem on Google, with 4.4 stars so we made this our choice and I couldn't be more happier that we did.

My only complaint is that the food portions are quite small but the waiter did suggest that I order more than one dish.

The set up in this place is vey modern-classy and everyone was dressed to impress! Perfect spot for a first date! I'm upset I won't be back for some time to visit again but I'm glad I made the stop.

Our experience here was exceptional! The food was delicious and we were impressed by the cocktails - tried a few different drinks and all were worth a try. The best part of our experience here was the service we received from Maya...she was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, willing to recommend her favorite items, and very patient with our indecisiveness trying to figure out what to order. We had excellent service all around from staff, but Maya really made our first time here special.

We had 2 different oysters, both amazing! Also had clam chowder, which, while a smaller portion, tasted fantastic! Next, the mussels, which is pictured. They were quite large and the sauce added the right kick to them. Celebrated my birthday there. Our favorite part, the house made sorbet! So flavorful! Thanks for the special night!

Came here for brunch. The batter on the chicken for the chicken and waffles was perfection! I highly recommend this dish. It was so good that I could have hugged the chef who prepared it! The service was excellent, from the beginning to the end everyone was very attentive, friendly, and helpful. No wonder it's on the eater38 for the best of 38 restaurants in Chicago!

I recently went here for dinner and had a great experience! Hannah was our waitress- she was super friendly and made great menu recommendations. The food was top notch - I highly recommend the clam chowder and lobster roll (Connecticut style). I also tried my first oyster here-- It was pretty good! The vibe of the restaurant is nice but still casual - jeans acceptable. Great spot for dinner with friends or a date. I would definitely go back!

First, the customer service was outstanding from first interaction till last. Valet parking was quick and easy. There was always someone checking in and making sure we had what we needed. Our main server was helpful with recommendations and suggestions since it was our first time there. We had a variety of fresh oysters which were all good. The grilled octopus was good too. Snapper ceviche was okay. The standout was the mussels with tomato sauce and sourdough bread. YUM!!! They have a very interesting cocktail menu. I decided on a cocktail with date syrup that was kinda like an old fashioned and i really enjoyed it. It is a bit pricey (like $200 for two people for food, drinks, tax, and tip) but it was well worth it for a great meal at a great place.

Always one of my favorites. Everything from greeting through food selection and overall quality was excellent. Our server, Joe, was friendly, knowledgeable and witty. Awesome craft cocktails. Wonderfully fresh oysters and amazing entrees. Save room for the desserts! The creme brulee was delicious and not to be missed.

My favorite small plate seafood place in the city!

Each dish is a true treat to any foodie's palate.

Tuna poke, shrimp bruschetta, fish tacos, lobster roll, mussels...just to name a few.

HIGHLY recommend the oyster po'boy slider...absolutely my favorite dish here.

The salted caramel tart with flambeed bananas has to be my favorite dessert in this city...AMAZING!

This restaurant is no doubt one of the most attractive restaurants in the neighborhood. Every time I visit this place I am deeply pleased. They preserve their high level service and the topmost level of meals they serve. You will be always satisfied with this restaurant. Very recommended.

A modest sized restaurant a little out of the busier parts of River North, GT was a great experience from the very beginning. Dining on a not as busy evening, we were seated right away and had our coats checked without any hassle. The decor of this place is great. But really the highlight was the service. Our waiter was not just a great server, but also extremely knowledgeable about the menu and seafood. He didn't steer us wrong once. The menu changes regularly, especially the supply of fresh oysters. The menu is intended to be served like tapas, shared with the table as opposed to individual entrees, a fact we didn't know going in. The fresh oysters were amazing (I'm from the Gulf Coast and wasn't expecting that from Chicago) and were followed by the clam chowder which they split into smaller portions for us all. The monk fish, served paella style was the highlight of the entrees. And dessert! They have a pistachio citrus parfait that I want to buy in bulk! I might go back just for dessert! I highly recommend this place, and doubt you can find anywhere else in the city that serves oysters in half shell of such quality.

My favorite restaurant in Chicago. I'm a meat eater but this seafood restaurant just packs the flavor into everything. Even if you can't get a reservation, do so in advance, eating at the bar is enjoyable if it's only a couple people.

The oyster po boy sliders are one of my favorite foods of all time. I usually end up ordering more after I'm done with all the other dishes I've had. I am not a big soup eater but once while my wife and I were sitting at the bar the bartender suggested we pair the po boys with the clam chowder and he was right. The po boys have the slightest amount of heat which is heightened by the salt from the oysters. The clam chowder is a creamy and rich complement to those flavors.

For the cold dishes I would suggest the tuna poke and ceviche. I am a big fan of the lobster roll because it is so rich and the fish tacos. I wouldn't recommend the fish and chips because it seems like it is trying too hard to be fancier. It's a dish best served at a greasy "chippy."

The cocktails are all good especially the whiskey or bourbon drinks which I tend to go for.

4 of us went for restaurant week. I ordered the special restaurant week menu with the tuna, clam chowder, pork belly, and key lime pie. I love key lime pie and it did not disappoint! The pork was also delicious. Overall the food was phenomenal, cocktails delicious, and the service was fantastic. I would definitely recommend!

If you're looking to taste some of the freshest seafood in the Midwest prepared by a Michelin Star award winning chef, come to GT Fish & Oyster located in trendy River North! Giuseppe Tentori is the culinary genius behind this eatery. I've been here enough times to know that you can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

The ambiance of GT is really great - not too loud, but not so silent that you think you're in a library. The streamlined interior is chic/classy and incorporates the nautical theme along with glass walls, white panels and dark wood which makes the space pop while feeling spacious all at the same time. It gets crowded so book reservations through OpenTable. Walk-ins are cool too - if you can't get a table sit at the cool boomerang table they have or at the bar. Now the food - menu changes seasonally, but here's what's good:

OYSTERS (duh)
Freshest and cleanest I've had - not a bit of dirt or grit on these delicious bivalve mollusks! Selection always changes, but my favorite are the Kumamotos - so creamy and sweet. Dabob Bays and Forbiddens are good too - served with ponzu mignonette & house made cocktail sauce & their famous hot sauce duo.
Tip: oysters are 1/2 off after 10 pm chyeahhh.

PORK BELLY SLIDERS
Pork belly is salty and fatty (...in a good way) complemented by tangy kimchi and peanuts for texture. At $4 a pop, they're worth every penny - treat yoself!

CLAM CHOWDER
Not your typical thick stick-a-spoon-in-and-it-stands-up-chowder. A much lighter version that is just as delicious and dare I say I *whispers* prefer this over the traditional one. I know! Don't kill me! It's loaded with chunks of clam meat and there's a smokiness from neuske's bacon served with house made oyster crackers. Guh get it.

GREEN TEA SOBA NOODLES
This dish is served cold with shrimp, tofu, bok choy, and a thai chili vinaigrette. It's such a refreshing dish if you're looking for something light and easy on your waistline.

WHITEFISH SANDWICH
The portion for this dish is quite generous not that I'm complaining. It's a beer battered flaky whitefish sandwiched between a toasted tuscan roll with cajun remoulade, pickled veggies and salt and vinegar chips.

LOBSTER ROLL

BANANA CHOCOLATE GANACHE
Not only is the seafood delicious here, but the desserts are just as good. This comes with chunks of flourless chocolate cake covered in rich chocolate ganache accompanied by berry sauce, berries and mint. The presentation of beautiful and the dish was (almost) too pretty to eat.

BLOOD ORANGE LEMON TART
If you end up getting the lobster roll, which I recommend, you might want to end with something lighter than chocolate ganache. Enter the blood orange and lemon tart. It's tangy from the citrus, refreshing and is served with a lovely quenelle of blood orange sorbet to cleanse your palate. Perfect ending!

I can't say enough good things about this place. Like the food, the service was on point! Water glasses were always filled and plates were cleared in a timely fashion. Every server I've had has been friendly and knowledgeable about the menu offering suggestions and answer questions. Parking in the area is tricky, but it's possible so make sure you try out GT Fish & Oyster soon!

Amazing food and service!
Cheers to this establishment and GM Jasmine Perales,
And in particular Bryan who went above and beyond to give great service. Prior to coming, I spoke to GM Perales who generously offered to make the Birthday weekend special for my wife and group. We arrived on a really busy Valentines evening and was a bit concerned with the wait as my young adult kids had another venue to visit this All Star Weekend. Cue to Brian who basically took over from very pleasant Ethan and assured us we would enjoy great food, service and be on time. Sure enough as soon as we were seated, treats started coming over with a round of Champaign and nice spring bruchetta appetizer on the house.

My complements to GM Perales and her staff. She came around frequently to check on us. GM Jasmine and Bryan YOU ROCK!!!
