Nicole was our server and she was amazing! Very attentive and friendly. The steak and lobster dinner was to die for! The steak LITERALLY melted in your mouth. Never had any steak like it!! Definitely would recommend to anybody. And the prices were great as well!

Huge disappointment all the way around!!! Got in line for HH seating, whrn we got up to the front we were offered a table in the grass by the water for $20. Lol, what a racket already, buy your table location?? Who does this??
We refused and was then offered a mediocre inside table with partial view. We decided to continue to wait for something else, in which we were then offered a table by a huge cement pillar and by the waitress station.
We sat down and ordered a drink and then spoke to a manager. He listened to us and apologized but that was it. We paid our $30 for 3 drinks and left.
As much as I'm in that area I would never return to this place nor bring any of my people. The Asian guy seating people was so rude to us with his comments, and when addressed with manager was discounted. I think the are banking on the one time tourist here!!!

As a visitor, we loved 5 Palms for breakfast. We had Bloody Mary's, fried eggs and this amazing avocado toast. The toast had olive oil, Black Sea salt, almonds, lime, tomatoes, red onion and feta on top of the fresh avocado. So good. The view is incredible and the food was perfect and I sure hope we can come back here to eat again before we leave.

GREAT LOCATION, FOOD DISAPPOINTING
We went for the beach next to it and were excited to find such a nice restaurant open in these times. Unfortunately beside location, the food wasn't very good nor fresh. Service was good, drinks are nice to have in such a great spot.

Great views any time of day.
Food has been tops & has improved.
Dinning staff was attentive. Noticed the improvement and professionalism.
Not sure if it's me or if there were changes but a 4.5 is worthy.
We like to take guests here for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

This is my favorite place for breakfast in the area. The view can t be beat and they have a large variety of very tasty items. I m a sucker for Mexican food so I lean towards the Paniolo which has rice layered with crunchy tortillas, homemade salsa, chorizo, and eggs on top. It also has a little fresh pico on the side. Very yummy. But you can also go sweet vs. savory and have the Hawaiian sweet bread French toast. YUM! Take me! PS they also gave a GREAT Happy Hour in the bar.

We were here for a period of 2.5 hours because it took way too long for them to take our order, way too long for the rolls, way too long for the food, way too long for the check. The servers only came to our table 4 or 5 times. Here, you can get a 13 dollar meal for the price of 30$ and it isn't all that great.

Update to my original review.....worst restaurant experience on Maui. Our server was pleasant but very lacking in customer service, long waits in between checking on us, never once checked on us after receiving our meals and lots of dirty dishes left on our table for long lengths.
We wanted a nice bachelorette get together for happy hour and ended up with a formal dining room and sushi roll for $36, just the beginning.....So costly it was unbelievable and very disappointing.

I was also way overcharged for my wine, if I hadn t paid close attention to my bill then, nice perk for 5 Palms. I ended up getting a credit on my card.

To sum things up, avoid coming here unless you have no regard for high cost, poor service, hot sun with no recourse in the early evening and very possible over charging.

Also, I had the ribs and they were very salty, the sweet potatoes were nondescript there was no salad unless I wanted to pay an extra $16! So ostentatious and overpriced... never again.

We went for Happy Hour 3-7pm, arrived at 3:15 and there was only one table left and a few stools at the bar. Popular happy hour, turn over was relatively quick.
Parking can be tricky in the dirt parking lot, enter through the main hotel lobby, not clearly marked.
We ordered Calamari, Prawns and Edamame Hummus, all very tasty and beautiful presentation. Service was excellent also!
One really big negative were the tables and chairs, you can t pull up in the very bulky, heavy, stiff, uncomfortable chairs to the smallish metal patio tables without hitting your shins and legs so you have to sit sideways or far from the table.
Another smaller negative is the dipping sauces for the Calamari and Prawns. They are runny like water and don t cling like they should, disappointing because they were very tasty.
On a positive note, the view is amazing and the atmosphere is nice!

The view is the best thing at this restaurant. The service is absolutely horrible. We called ahead for reservations and they told us we didn't need them, however when we got there We were told we needed one. They sat us to wait for a table and then got us up when one was available, only to give it away to someone else and we were stuck waiting with appetizer and drinks in hand. They were out of salmon so they recommended another fish, I let them know I was highly allergic to mushrooms about 4 times and when my meal came, there were mushrooms everywhere. This was about the worse restaurant experience I've ever had and they are not cheap!! So if you are looking for a nice dinner, please look elsewhere.

I called several days in advance and asked for a "front" table since we would be celebrating my hubby's birthday. Well, we weren't given a front table...the view was still good since there's a view pretty much everywhere, but still. Then, while we were still eating our salad, the entree was delivered! Seems like they were maybe anxious for us to eat and leave quickly! The food was delicious...we shared a wedge salad and the large opakapaka. No complaints about that! But, given the rushed feeling (even though there were plenty of open tables) and the neglect of my birthday wish, I gave them only the 4 stars.

The Manhattan style chowder with scallops, calamari, crab, shrimp was out of this world!!!
My companion ordered a mango mojito, and it was so good I had to get one as well. The mint, lime and mango combination will be something I try to recreate back home it was so good.
The main courses were quite tasty but in my opinion paled when compared to the starters and the beverages.
If you order the mudpie make sure you have at least one other person, better yet be a table of four if you've just had dinner. This thing is massive and like everything you ever wished a DQ ice cream cake could be if made with attention and the best ingredients.
I was here quite some time ago and it was delightful then. I'm very glad to have made an effort to come back on this trip.
If you get Dee as a server you'll be in for a treat, she is absolutely delightful and great with recommendations.

Great atmosphere. Pricey. The food choices were limited. My food was overcooked and not prepped properly (Coconut Shrimp; over fried-hard and not fully peeled). My soup wasn't as savory as it looked. Vegetables were not completely cooked and stems particles were present.

Someone in management needs to explain why the tables closest to ocean and beach are only for breakfast. Happy hour involves long waits while all of the breakfast tables sit vacant bc of policy. Weird. We wont be back. Only good thing was draft MBC big swell for $6.

This place is really overpriced for what you get. And happy hour is unfortunately a joke, we ordered happy hour mai tai's and they were close to half the size as a non happy hour mai tai we had at dinner. Halfing the size and giving you less during happy hour is not the way it works. I was not impressed with anything I ate here

Went for dinner after seeing the reviews and the view. The view was amazing. The service was sub par at best, the hostess was put out by showing us to our table and our server had an attitude and was over whelmed and ignorant and unable to keep track of who ordered what.
5 out of 6 meals where good, one wasn t cooked and couldn t be eaten. They did comp a desert to try and make up. However, given the price go to mamas the food is far superior and food impeccable

It was AWESOME! We hadn t gone out to eat in a long while, and this experience was excellent!! We had a nice Burger and the Smoked Salmon Benedict with Spinach. Jody was fantastic, and made us feel right at home. The tables were spaced apart and the lunch was perfect. Going back next week!
