Hands down the best gym I have ever been to. Will consider this on par with equinox but without the luxurious amenities.
Much of the equipment is brand new, always EXTREMELY clean, and the lockers and showers are also brand new.

no showers during construction, which has lasted the entire semester. NO direction as to where I might find an alternate shower. No opportunity to rinse off after a workout; a huge inconvenience for students who live far from campus. poor planning and incompetent staff.
Facility is great but very poor management and policy rules. They do not allow a gym bag inside. They ask you to place belongings in a cubby in a secluded area. My things were robbed and they did not check any cameras or help at all.
Clean and well equipped for serious lifters. Drawbacks are that they don't allow chalk unless you're an FIU powerlifter, they require you to leave bags in a locker, and they took the trap bar and swiss bar out of the general weightroom for some reason, and now only have them in the personal training room where nobody uses them.
I personally really like the gym on campus. I think it's super clean and well maintained. I have yet to attend a class, but for the most part I've only heard very good things about it. The only negative thing I'd have to say about the gym is that I wish there were saunas. This is probably the only thing it is missing.
During the summer is great. You got to use any of the equipment, and even rent out basketballs for free. During the regular semesters it's almost impossible to workout, since everything is taken. That of course happens with every small gym. They are currently expanding the gym, so I am sure some of those previous issues will get resolved.
Don't forget to visit your local FIU bike shop! The recent center is awesome, friendly crew, variety of machins and workout options, classes and physical therapy options and a good number of courts and outdoor areas
Currently under major renovations. Great gym otherwise.
I love the FIU GYM.
It s loaded with a lot of good equipments.
Three stories building. Check it out.
Good complex but nowhere close ti adequate for a big University as this.
Update 2: They have now increase the amount of gear with 5 brand new full racks and more dumbbells and gear in general. (4 stars instead of 3).
Update: They finally moved the bumper plates to the dead lift area (now 3 stars instead of 2)
Tl;dr too crowded but now with plenty of gear.
There are only 2 bench presses. They removed hex plate for no reason. Employees are pleasant.
This gym puts many brand name fitness clubs to shame. The weight room is very adequately populated with many different types of free weights and machines. The cardio room has all the big hitters, though I do not like the ellipticals as they do not have a setting to increase range of motion.
Multiple basketball courts, beach and regular volleyball courts, indoor running track, squash court, and I think there's more I haven't seen.
Beyond being well equipped, it is a fantastic atmosphere to work out. There are so many motivated young people in the same place.
Fully functional locker room with showers and changing area, bring a padlock otherwise it's 10 dollars at the shop.
Worst gym of all time. I m not trying to get bitched at over nonsense every five minutes, I m trying to work out in peace
Great place to workout. Super fun classes. But it smells like porkrinds :( funky smell.
Porq is a clean place of bacteria and special treatment varieties of maguina where you can do various types of exercise and their workers. professional and very friendly
Honest this is as good as it better than those brand name gyms out there. Great clean facilities with people who respect the equipment! Free to students so please check it out!
Needs more parking and more squat racks. Nonetheless, a good gym for those attending FIU.
Good gym. Wish they had more options for group cycling classes
Too crowded and no temporary lockers, not that clean and old machines
Make sure you bring a lock because you can't keep your gym bag with you at all times. You will usually find inconsiderate people here, but I think that depends on what time you go. It's good to get a good workout in and then leave. I think the basketball court is the best place to work out, especially because you can leave your bag by the walls and it doesn't get in anyone's way.
Good Nicaraguan food at reasonable prices. However I typically avoid the fried cheese(queso frito) as it is not there strong suit
Clean, well-conditioned, and high quality equipment.
Great facility! The gym is huge, clean, and offers plenty of classes.
It's got good equipment and I can go while I'm on campus. I hear they got a lot of fitness classes
I really like this gym. Its amazing. And the fitness classes are great!
One of the best recreational services you'll see in here. The staff is helpful, the vast area and plenty of equipments adds a lot of detail to it.
During peak hours it is heavily loaded with people
Great gym for a quick work-out on the way to class!
Love the food taste from this Panda location. Gets crowded on school semesters' lunch hours, but lines move pretty fast. I'd recommend it, especially for students.
The gym is nice and clean has everything you need. People are pretty rude and get in your way while in the middle of a set. The 3 strike no ID rule is really stupid. Showers are nice but soap would make it better. It's okay.
This gym is great ! A lot of space and plenty of machines.
Usually very full, but I still enjoy everything it has to offer.
Amazing facility! My sister, an FIU student, took me along as a guest and I really enjoyed it. They offer multiple classes, have lots of both weight and cardio equipment. You can also rent rent equipment to play basketball, racquet ball, etc. Also, the facility and lockers are very clean!
Music is too loud, even with headphones on you can still hear the music the staff plays over the speakers. But other than that great gym.
My review is aimed at the unprofessional clowns that work there. While a few are nice and corteous, the majority are not.
1. When you walk into the gym and hand your ID card to be swiped, 9 out of 10 times the enployee doesn't say hello, much less even look at you (even when you say hello to them and say thank you, they still just ignore you). They are usually too busy flirting with their coworkers.
2. Yesterday for example, multiple employees were getting actual massages on the first floor while "working", right next to the guy's bathroom.
3. They start announcing the gym is closing an hour before, every few minutes and as obnoxious and loud as they possibly can.
4. They walk around turning off the tv's in the 2nd floor next to the cardio machines even if you are watching something with 10 minutes left to closing.
5. They walk around harrassing students and asking who it was that didn't rerack the weights because they are too busy texting and playing pokemongo to actually notice who was using the weights.
Overall, their attitude and service is that of kids who don't realize what an easy, relaxing job they have. They don't work, they flirt, they joke around, they throw the little clips (used to make sure the barbell weights dont fall off) into the box as though they are playing basketball, and on some instances i have even seen them doing pullups and hitting on gym goers.
While the actual gym equipment is not that great and the gym is definitely too small, the real problem are these unprofessional kids.
They are too strict with letting guests in. Parking is confusing and far. Took me at least a hour of my time to get in. Very disappointed.
Clean, large with plenty of space, and a very good environment
