Took my out of town family here and its sort of a step down from Blue Water Grill which isn't to say that place is any good either. The place was sticky and menus were dirty with something. Staff were a bit oblivious to the point my Mom of all people was perturbed. Food was pretty close to elementary school cafeteria servings. Go here for a drink and the sunset but probably not much more.

Had a great bacon smokehouse burger. Wait was a little long but that's expected for the great location. Girl bartender is great at making eye contact and completely ignoring you. Cold beer. Good drinks. Salt was solid in the shaker, use some rice! Lights at the outside tables are blinding. Put some kind of shade perhaps. I put my napkin over it. Service at the table was very good. Clean glasses, plates and silverware. Thanks. Update 12/2020, came for fish and chips. They don't offer fish and chips. ?? What fish restaurant doesn't sell fish and chips?

this place has a very beautiful location on a pier and has a beautiful view, the attention is very good and polite the calamari appetites are from good to regular since they do not use Italian tomato sauce and I ordered some onion rings this good and super large, my main course was. Hawaiian tuna I did not like that they accompanied him with Dorito I think they remain. Better with fries for me it was good nothing special, my companions ate Fried Flounder and it seemed fresh and it was very good. And the other dish was Po 'Boy, who who asked for it did not seem more than regular, although it was not an excellent meal, the place is cozy, its terrace enchanted me and its employees excellent treatment.

A nice, casual dining spot right on the intracoastal waterway. The menu isn't especially extensive and with more sandwich options than dinner plates, but the food is delicious. Tables with umbrellas on the deck on the back offers a nice view of the waterway while dining.

One of the worst dining experiences I've ever had at Wrightsville Beach and/or Wilmington.
My friend and I have been here before. The food is usually good, although the wait times can be long. We waited for a table for 45 minutes. Because of "Covid19" (or at least the excuse they were using), the restaurant was not allowing anyone to dine in, only outside which resulted in limited tables. That was somewhat understandable. Although this was misleading as their website indicated a dine-in option.
When we were finally seated, none of the wait staff acknowledged us for 15 or so minutes. The waitress who did serve us was apologetic at least, and offered a free dessert. However, this didn't really make up for all of their shortcomings.
My friend ordered crab cake and slaw which he said was tasty. I ordered fish tacos & they tasted awful, plus they were not fresh and were cold as if they had been sitting out for a while.
I was very disappointed. I asked to speak to the manager. He seemed condescending and when asked about indoor seating, he seemed more interested in the welfare of his staff than a returning paying customer. This was after my friend told him about his handicap and breathing problems because of the heat.
I used to enjoy this place, mainly for its scenery of the Intercoastal waterway. But after today's visit and their lack of accommodation, it will be my last time there.

Fish House Grill is definitely my favorite restaurant to go to whenever I am in the Wrightsville Beach area. The food is wonderful, and the staffs are great. The view outside is amazing. Too bad I cannot go there every day because it is a bit far from Raleigh, but I cannot wait to go back for more food!

Favorite of locals. Try the "humongous delicious original" onion rings with fresh local grilled shrimp. On the waterway outside deck smack in the middle of a marina with big boy toys out of a fantasy book floating up and down as you dine in the sunshine or with a glass of wine at dusk. Always a vacation from the normal pace of life.

The food is good, the views great, but another thing to consider is what the waiter types into the computer as the tip after we write it on the slip. At 03:43 PM on 12/26/15 Maghan's typing added $3.00 to the bill. I wrote in a tip for $7.00 but when my credit card statement arrived a month later, it appears the tip changed from what I wrote to a rounded-up $10.00. This may have been an honest error. I hope so.

I take an out of town guest here for "supposedly" a decent meal as I have not been in a while. He suggested Dockside in which I laughed for obvious reasons so I mentioned Fish House. So he gets a piece of tuna on a salad which end up being the "tail cut" in which most would throw away rather than cook it. Come to find out the shrimp I get along with everything else is not even from here. Frozen garbage probably from Thailand no doubt. Someone PLEASE answer me how we can live at the beach and have such GARBAGE seafood around here? My suggestion is bull doze all of these "fake" seafood restaurants here and just put in a Long John Silvers or Red Lobster. the exact same frozen imported garbage that these places serve for 1/2 the price. One would think living at the beach we may have decent seafood but not in this place. Its just as plastic as the city. The only reason for the 3 stars is the waitress was nice. Its not her fault for the bad product these places sell.

To start with the views were blocked. The onion rings were rubbery and under cooked and the fish was mealy and over cooked. Management either was uninformed or didn't care we were unhappy. We did find the server delightful. We will not go back nor encourage anyone else to go there.

Went to fish house on Saturday (which was cold) and got outdoor seating. We also went when we were hungry and had to wait 20-30mins for a table. Not too bad besides the fact that it was cold and their outdoor heaters did little to keep us warm. The waitress was nice but very busy with other tables. Took her quite a bit of time to check on us, get drinks, and get the food ordered. They seemed busy. Overall, the food was good, especially the burger! My husband scarfed down the $21 combo platter in about 5 mins. Not sure that was worth the price but it was seafood and he ll eat anything. Loved the food and aesthetic...I feel like you pay more to eat there than for the actual size/quality of food.

Not too sure about the other aspects of my dining experience. Maybe will go back bc of the nice view and good food (even though it was a bit pricey)...

First, how can a seafood restaurant not have hush puppies? Second, my order was messed up when it arrived. Third, it was $20 for a small hand full of shrimp and soggy French fries. Fourth, the service was horrible. The server came to the table twice the entire meal. I was never brought any silverware and had to ask for napkins at the very end cause non were ever given to me. This place is horrible. Do not recommend.

We had the number one seat on the dock!:) It was a warm sunny table right in the middle. Such great views; we were able to take some great pics. The crab dip was phenomenal; the bread was toasted & buttery! Mmm! Along with splitting the appetizer with my two friends, I had an iced tea & an IPA. Everything looked and tasted fresh. Wonderful first experience! Ellie took great care of us and she was such a positive energy for my friends and I. Really appreciate the hard work, thank you!

Frozen Food Heat&Serve
My blackened shrimp, fries, even my daughters cheese burger we're obviously premade frozen product. Even the cocktail sauce and tartar sauce we're purchased. That's just lazy

Love the outside seating on the water.... Even though a cloudy day! For starters we shared the onion rings. Awesome! My guy had a shrimp poboy. Good with lots of shrimp. I had a crab cake sandwich. Not bad but have had lots better crabcake. Brian was a great server and we had a reasonable wait for our food. Will definitely be back!

Came here after my wife and I received no service from the restaurant next door, and boy am I glad we did. The atmosphere is much more open and welcoming, we were seated immediately and had prompt service. The food was AMAZING. They have an excellent draft choice from local breweries which made this place that much cooler. You can pick to sit outside or inside, whichever suits your preference. I look forward to coming back here to eat next summer.
