Ordered lunch through Grubhub for delivery. Asked for one sandwich to have no onions or tomato, also on the order: 8 cookies. Received order ~1 hour later (which was ok, that was the estimated delivery time via GH). Sandwich came with tomato, only 4 cookies. Checked that order was put into GH correctly, called restaurant, they said they would remake sandwich and send other 4 cookies. An hour passes. Call restaurant back, they state order was remade but they will not deliver or call GH driver back, and that I would have to call GH to get it delivered. Call GH, they state that they cannot redispatch driver, they would refund me the cost of what was messed up, I would have to reorder from GH (and pay again) and communicate to the restaurant that the order was the correction. At this point told GH to forget about it because it was already 2.5hours past when I was supposed to get my lunch and I would just go pick up my own FN sandwich. Pick up sandwich and cookies, the remade sandwich AGAIN has tomatoes on it, and the cookies are dried up and misshapen. 10/10 not getting my business again.

THIS IS THE BEST FIREHOUSE SUBS IN JAX!!!... First of all, the people are so nice and glad to see you when you come in (it's the little things, ya know?). They always make my subs (I go there a lot) look like the picture on the menu...

Short Story: today I ordered a sub from a new cashier, who made an honest mistake of hitting "no mustard" when she meant to hit "no mayo" (which I'm allergic to)... I called the store and they were SO NICE about everything! Not only did they make me a completely new sub (without mayo, it was perfect!) for FREE, they secretly blessed me with a full refund that I didn't even find out about until later. I tried to tip them for their extra work and they refused to except it and said, "no, this is our pleasure!" and gave my tip back to me... Folks, they treated me this way when they were SLAMMED on a lunch rush! Good people are too hard to find for their extra efforts to be ignored! Thank you Firehouse Subs on University!!!

(btw - when I read reviews like this, I usually think it's an employee or affiliate of the business... I DO NOT WORK THERE NOR DO THEY KNOW ME other than seeing my face a several times per month from getting lunch there. They don't even know that I'm writing this review... it was the right thing to do after they did the right thing for me. I'm sincere when I tell you that this is THE BEST Firehouse Subs restaurant in Jax!)

Firehouse subs is a great place to sit back, relax, and enjoy a cheap sub with a lot of flavor. The place has a fire department themed restaurant with red chairs and paintings of firemen doing their job, serving. You order at the front, pay up front and you sit down and wait for your food to come to you. The employees are very helpful. They have TVs for watching the game and the awesome Coca-Cola machine that serves more than 50 different drinks! Too cool! I got the Meatball sub. It was hot, tender, and moist with fresh tomato sauce. The menu is very thought out. It's a picture of a sandwich, the description, and the calories and prices for each portion size for that particular sandwich. This restaurant clearly wants it's customer to have an abundant amount of options. I recommend this place for anyone who is willing to have a good sub. Keep up the amazing job.

This place on Baymeadows with a drive thru is the best one in all of Jacksonville Fl. The crew there is the best and we love the manager Katie Lott. She always has the biggest smile and so happy to be serving her customers. You must visit this location. Baymeadows and Philip's Hwy. Go Now!!

For lunch, Ordered over the phone and had 2 separate orders which included 3 sandwiches altogether. The employee on the phone with me made ordering quick and easy and told me it would be ready in ten minutes. Promptly as I was there paying for the orders, they were calling my name for the pick up right on time. My orders were all correct and everyone there was willing to immediately help me with any question I asked. (Which was just for to go containers of their detail pepper bbq sauce and of course a new cup because I accidentally dropped it in the parking lot right after walking out the door)
Thank you @Firehouse crew

Staff member who I believe to have been the manager, tried picking a fight with me because of the football team depicted on my clothing (UGA, but why does it matter?!). My entire experience was colored by his rude and unprofessional behavior. My friend had warned me that this Firehouse location was the absolute worst in the chain, and said he d never return. Now I see why, and sadly have to agree. Hook & ladder tasted fine but had way too much mustard, to the point where it was leaking out as I ate and was all over the outside of the Togo bag when it was given to me. There wasn t as much meat as I am used to either. This poorly executed sub was prepared by the individual who tried creating a verbal altercation with me, so I didn t expect he put much care into it. I m giving 1 star to a place that s always 5 stars for me if that gives you any idea how bad this experience was.

About Firehouse Subs

Serving a variety of hot gourmet sub sandwiches. Made with premium meats and cheeses, steamed hot and piled high on a toasted sub roll. Also serving cold subs, salads, and catering.

Firehouse Subs is a popular fast-food chain that has been serving delicious and hot gourmet sub sandwiches since 1994. The company was founded by two brothers, Chris and Robin Sorensen, who were both firefighters. They wanted to create a restaurant that would not only serve delicious food but also give back to the community.

The Firehouse Subs menu features a variety of hot subs made with premium meats and cheeses, steamed hot and piled high on a toasted sub roll. Some of the most popular subs include the Hook & Ladder, which is made with smoked turkey breast, Virginia honey ham, and melted Monterey Jack cheese; the Firehouse Meatball, which is loaded with Italian meatballs in marinara sauce; and the New York Steamer, which features corned beef brisket pastrami.

In addition to their hot subs, Firehouse Subs also offers cold subs like the Turkey Bacon Ranch or Club on a sub roll or lettuce wrap. They also have salads like the Hook & Ladder Salad or Italian Salad for those looking for something lighter.

One thing that sets Firehouse Subs apart from other fast-food chains is their commitment to giving back to first responders in local communities through their non-profit organization called Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation. The foundation provides funding for equipment needs such as lifesaving equipment like Jaws of Life tools or AED machines.

Firehouse Subs has over 1,100 locations across North America making it easy for customers to enjoy their delicious food no matter where they are located. Their catering services are perfect for events such as office lunches or family gatherings.

Overall, if you're looking for delicious gourmet sub sandwiches made with premium ingredients served by a company committed to giving back to local communities then look no further than Firehouse Subs!
