Well-appointed, quality hotel with professional, friendly staff. Smooth check-in/check-out, prompt service. The complimentary high speed wifi is reliable if you are depending on it to work. Only hiccup was that the room service menu was outdated and several items were unavailable. Overall, very good experience.

This hotel was excellent. It was very clean - looked new. The value was exceptional. Although I used points, the actual nightly rate was very reasonable considering how close to the city and shopping this hotel was. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The amount of shopping around the hotel was incredible.

Visiting for a special occasion(anniversary). Currently here and laying on the bed before we go to dinner. The staff has been amazing and the room is clean and beautiful. I would highly recommend visiting the spa, which we did, and indulging yourself. We almost don't want to leave for dinner... But are looking forward to the views from our beautiful room tonight. Will update after check out.

Room was beautiful and bed/pillows were very comfortable. Love the addition of the binoculars for guests' use. Every staff person with whom we interacted was very friendly and accommodating. The only disappointment was that we had booked a room and told them we were celebrating my birthday - the front desk asked several times to confirm if we were honeymooners or celebrating an anniversary... I guess someone typed it in wrong.

My family and I stayed a the Fairmont Hotel in downtown Pittsburg over the Thanksgiving day holiday. We reserved a suite for me and my wife and a room each for my son and my daughter and her husband. We travel all over the world and always try to stay in the nicest hotels. The Pittsburgh Fairmont was not one of them. First, we were told breakfast ended at 10:30 am on Thanksgiving Day but when we showed up at 10:05 am for breakfast after our morning workout, we were told breakfast ended at 10:00 am! Surprise! Our daughter ordered room service that morning and it took all of 1.5 hours to arrive. Then there was no silverware in the kitchenette of the suite so we could not eat any of the food we brought back from our family Thanksgiving Day meal later in the evening. We used the coffee cups on Wednesday and they were never replaced so when we returned from our family Thanksgiving Day meal there were no coffee cups in the room. We ordered champagne from room service that night, along with requesting coffee cups and silver ware, and it took almost an hour to be delivered. When the champagne arrived, it was flat. And when I say flat, I mean as flat as Sonny Liston when Muhammed Ali (then Cassius Clay) knocked him out in the first round of their second championship fight in Lewiston, Maine in 1965! I wrote all this up and left if for the manager and never heard back from him. And, just so you know that I am not usually a whiner and complainer, I have designed a business card-sized Eagle/Duck card which I carry around and had out to people for superior service (Eagle) or poor service (Duck). I handed out eagle cards to two members of The Pittsburgh Fairmont staff during our stay. Needless to say, I handed out a duck card to the General Manager.

The room was awesome, view was awesome and staff was great. I have nothing but good things to say. I also loved the hotel dog. It was so nice to be greater by her coming into the hotel and watch her wandering around the lobby making everyone feel welcome. The hotel bar was also great, good spirits and great drafts for a hotel, I was impressed. Would stay again for sure.

Love Andy''s wine bar. Live music and very interesting cocktails. I had a 'Korean BBQ' cocktail with rye whiskey and Korean BBQ shrub. It tastes exactly like bbq, but not too overpowering. Only critique of Andy's is that it's a bit small. For a hotel bar, highly recommend

Really awesome hotel, however it lacks free WiFi throughout the whole building. I noticed a lot of people sitting in the lobby on their computers and that is really unfortunate. I ended having to use my phone's data which is not something I would expect from a really good hotel.

When staying at this hotel, you'll quickly understand why it has a 5 star rating on most travel sites. The staff are all warmth and smiles, and they happily fulfilled every request we had. The location is perfect, as you can walk to numerous restaurants, as well as Market Square which always seems to have something fun going on. Other reviewers have noted the hotel is "dog friendly", but I would say this is at the very least a slight understatement, as our Goldendoodle Jake was treated like a celebrity. In short, Pittsburgh was awesome, but the Fairmont is what made our visit to the city perfect.

The Fairmont in Pittsburgh sits right in market square, which is where there are tons of unique little shops and restaurants.. really cool place. The Fairmont itself is, in my opinion, the nicest of all the hotels in Pittsburgh. It's exactly what you'd expect from a high end establishment. You are greeted immediately after pulling up to the curb, where they offer to get your luggage/bags. My room was beautiful and clean and smelled amazing. I had packed everything, and then some, so I didn't need to ask for anything. I was told upon checking in that if I needed anything at all, to call the front desk. I have stayed at several different places, but this one is by far my favorite.

This hotel joined the Pittsburgh landscape a few years back and quickly became a shining in star in our city. Known for unparalleled service and gorgeous spaces, events at the Fairmont are always top notch. We have done so many events in the space, and every single one takes on its own original look and feel. We highly recommend this site and its incredible event team when planning an event.

I stayed here for business for a few days and loved it. The view of the market below and the PPG building next door were awesome. You could also see across the water. The service downstairs and at the restaurant were excellent. Extremely convenient location too. Would definitely stay again.

The Fairmont feels modern and elegant walking in the front door. We attended a fundraiser event on a weekday evening and were pleasantly greeted at the event entrance by the hotel GM. The food presentation and taste was superb with so much variety of both hot and cold items. The banquet space has high ceilings, and the ballroom we were in breaks into several smaller rooms, but there aren't obvious air wall pockets when it's completely open. The Fairmont didn't miss a detail, from the attendant monitoring the coat room to the beautifully towered cupcake station. Not sure of the price points if it is an affordable venue or not, but it is definitely beautifully executed!

I went for drinks at Andy's in the Fairmont with friends to hear a friend sing. It was quite full, so service was a bit slow. Everything was quite enjoyable though. We tried the cheese plate and nachos, both of which were delicious. I had a Chinese Gooseberry which was pretty good and tried the Mule Undone which was out of this world. Great place to hang out for an evening
