Blowed my mind away. What an amazing place. Tons of intelligent activities with great design. Try to get to the kids free ( as in no kids) evening for best experience. Spend solid 4 hours in this place and didn't see it all

I hadn't been here since they moved to the pier. It's always fun and they always have new exhibits. If you have never gone... It's like going to your favorite science teacher lab and getting to play with all the experiments. You'll learn about physics, science, and a little biology. The toddler we brought didn't like that he had to wait to play, some of the exhibit involving air and light blew his mind. I only wish we had more time to explore, as each exhibit can teach you something. Parking across the street was really reasonable! We parked and explored the rest of the pier.

Very engaging interactive museum that wakes up the kid in all of us. They follow thematically coherent sections that go from the social, to the individual, to the molecular, to the energetic. Very interesting stuff

We only had 2 hours, wish we had more. It was fun and interesting!

The most amazing science exhibition! Hands-on experiments and clear explanations of the effects and physics laws in action. Absolutely fun for kids and adults. Must visit while in SF.

Great exhibits, geared to children and young adults. Good food options on site. Some of the visiting groups were not well chaperoned and the kids were not well behaved.

It's Amazing ! I recommend taking your family on a science adventure, maybe your children will become a scientist !!

Only get here when you have no less than 3 hours, or you'll lose your money. There's so much to explore here.

AMAZING! We went to the After Dark Thursdays for Adults and were amazed. WELL DONE. Great hands on for us all. Simply Incredible! We definitely will be coming back a few times a year to see it all - After Dark Thursdays or during the day. The first few hours we saw only 1/10th of the whole place!

Love this place! Great for kids. Sometime it a bit crowded but still worth a visit.

The exhibitions are very interactive and fun. That is the best way to learn science is by trying various experiments. The Exploratorium is for free on certain days, probably around 5 times a year. Worth it!

Very unique place. Every exhibit is interactive, and I found the Humans exhibit especially interesting. It's a good place to visit if you're around the pier area with friends and family!

Great venue, but more appropriate for older kids. We were there with 5 and 2 year old grand kids. The 5 year old was intrigued by half the exhibits and the 2 year old found only some of them interesting. Also, keep in mind that the Exploratorium is a little pricey.

What an incredible place. I messed up allowing myself only an hour and a half to explore. There are many exhibits each with many small stations so even if the place is crowded everyone should be able to spread out and interact with something. We we're lucky enough to see and talk to Scott Weaver the builder of the San Francisco kinetic toothpick sculpture.

Staff here was super engaging with tons of great knowledge. Their store, which is where I was, had a very nice selection of educational items Games books Etc a lot of very unique gifts here! You are able to find something for every budget.

I especially loved the framed picture that was actually made from crochet yarn and it looked like a bat and a mouse being dissected. So cute for friends that I know are in the medical field.

Great place for gifts unique and educational! I wish I would have time to go into the Science Center, which I believe, would have been amazing.

Just amazing collection of art and science exhibits. I could sirens a week exploring this place. Cant wait to come back again.

Good place to entertain and educate the kiddo(s). Nice food and drink selection for the whole family at their cafeteria which is accessible without admission to the Exploratorium itself- some of the best views and smallest crowds along the Embarcadero by the way.

I was like an ADD puppy here. I couldn t hold a sentence together there was so much going on! Fantastic place to go, great place to bring a significant other.

Learn a lot whilst being overstimulated by the fantastic exhibits!

Don t make the same mistake as I did, budget at least 1.5 hrs for this!

Parking in this area is crazy. $0.25/4 minutes. Find a damn garage.

If you are in SF make the time to stop here! Outstanding displays and education. Lots to read and take in so plan on spending a fair amount of time here.

Actually remember going here in 3rd grade.Long ass time ago.

Very nice place, has good games and machines to see the response of bacteria and minuscule beings.
The place can be seen complete in one hour.
The bad thing is that they did not let us stop in the middle of the swirling wind.

Super fun. It's huge so plan on spending the day there.

The Exploratorium is a magical place! I recommend checking out AfterDark! Less crowded, cool topics and they sell booze! Check it out.

I went with a friend and her son. This is a great place for kids! It is much bigger than it looks from the outside. So much science to explore and fun displays. Very hands on.

We visited on a Thursday night when it was open late for adults. Quite busy but we enjoyed ourselves very much. Everything was hands on and we weren't able to fully explore everything but it was a good evening of geeking out!

It was fun and interesting to see the different life in the bay.

Great science museum with lots of fun activities for kids!

This is a really cool museum. I took my 5 year old, he went a little crazy though because everything is hands on. It's a fun place to visit.

One of the best interactive science museums! I've been consistently blown away by the creativity and artistry of the rotating special exhibits, especially their latest WildCard exhibit - a magical world built entirely out of cardboard.

Its not like it used to be, now its like a kids play area. Lots of non functional displays due to kids beating the crap out of them. All while the parents watching and not caring.

A ways one of my favorite exploring Science experiences.Not possible to do it justice in one visit.

Great place for kids to have fun and learn science. Adults can also learn a lot in here. This museum had several sections and each section focus on one topic such as sounds, light, human life.. Etc. There are a lot of machinery and projects for kids to interact with and learn from the process and they all make sense while kids have great fun trying then out. Detail instruction and how to do it are well explained on each station.
Parking is extra and it's $15 all day for museum visitor

Great place for children and adults alike. The place is pretty big with a LOT of activities. My wife and I originally had planned to stay an hour or two, but ended up staying until closing time! And we don't regret a single minute.

This place was a lot of fun. Went by myself, and really enjoyed it. Would definitely be more fun with someone else & highly recommend for kids. Be prepared to spend a lot of time here. You may not want to leave!

I want to say it's the most amazing museum I have ever been to but, it's more than that. I wouldn't even call it a science museum at all. It's more of an experience based on physics and such. This is a hands on experience that can consume your entire day easily. I have been multiple times and on each visit there are new exhibits that have swapped out others. The new location on the pier is beautiful and the staff are wonderful. Just go and become a kid again. It's a full blown tinkering overload. If you love to push buttons to see what they will do, roll, bounce and swing stuff then this is where you belong. Some things to know before you go. If you want to experience the Tactile Dome, be sure to get tickets when you purchase your main tickets. Also, they have a huge "spyrograph" swinging table and you can have one made but, you have to get your name on the list. Do that early if you want one to take home.

It's fun and didactic, but I found the ticket expensive! It's worth it, especially for kids, as it has super cool stuff!

My dad took me to the exploratorium ALL the time as a kid and I loved it. I haven't been to their new location but I'm sure is as fun as I remember. I'm planning to visited it soon and I'm so excited. Adults and kids can enjoy all the activities. It's so interactive and wonderful.

Fantastic. It's worth it too much. Unlike any museum I have been to in Brazil.

A brilliant place to spend a few hours. Best for kids. If you're an adult you must go with an open mind and experiment with all of the things over there and have fun.

went here on a date for a thursday after-dark event (adults only) and felt like the activities were a tad bit too geared to young students (I'm 31). I think a better night out for after-dark can be had at the Academy of Sciences

My 11 year old chose the Exploratorium over the Zoo. I wasn't sure what to expect for our day, but I was pleasantly surprised. This museum has something for everybody!! There are enough hands on experiences for all to enjoy, even if it is crowded. We spent 2 hrs in just one small section of the 1st part. We could have easily gone back the next day to see more. Try to arrive when they open because you will want as much time as possible and they close at 5. We parked in a public parking garage for a $25 daily fee. There are many garages around, just do some research before getting here.

Way too many screaming children. Couldn't enjoy anything. Children also jumping ahead of you I'm lines and at exhibits. Not okay.

Fun for adults and teens. You could spent days here.
