A must go place if you are in San Francisco, so many things to learn for kids and adults!

We had read good things about the Exploratorium so we went to experience it . You can park across the street for $15. Senior over 65 admissions are $25. Other admissions $30-35. This is a popular place for school groups. You should find it less crowded as the kids leave in midafternoon. This is a vary hands on museum. Much to do for adults and kids. Everyone learns something. Great place to spend 3 hours or so.

Amazing! I loved all of the different exhibits, and even if I didn't like a certain section, there were so many others to choose. I would really recommend it , and adults and teenagers can still have a great time!

This is probably the best museum I've been to. Unfortunately didn't get a chance to see everything in 2 hours. If you plan to go, come as early as you can.

Great place for a family we stay there for more than 3 hours to occupy an afternoon

Frustrating visit because of a huge crowd. Here American children are kings, they run from one workshop to another and support all the buttons, even see hands off the activities! 3 times I was doubled or outright ripped off the hands of the stand by a kid ... Everything is exciting and fun, but not possible to land on an activity without being disturbed by a little high evil that comes to walk you on the feet. The scientific popularization boils down here to a frantic button press game, hard to take the time to understand so much is the fair.

Wonderful place for every child to visit. I remember from when i was a child and it's amazing to take my own children now.

This place is fun and more for families and kids. There are a few exhibits that held my attention mainly for the novelty factor, but I didn't learn anything new since none of the exhibits had any detailed descriptions. I played with this giant bubble maker and this reflective half dome and took some photos for the Insta. Bring the kids though. They'll appreciate it a lot.

This is THE place you should not miss when you are in the bay area.

The best!!! So fun and interesting. The way everyone should learn physics and such! If you're over 21, come on a Thursday night for their after dark!

Fantastic museum. Brilliant way to understand natural science, could easily spend days here.

Your child will learn how to draw properly this museum had a workshop which is your child should be able to join.

even if you just visit the gift shop, this is a fun stop along the wharf. interactive exhibits are fun due all ages. night life is the evening adult-only programming. great date night.

Such a hip, educational museum. It has a vast range of sciences (not too much on space-exploration), and the lab-like format for their installations are interactive to say the least.

Perfect time for families or if you are out of town

Perfect museum for kids and adults! It is so interactive and educational. There's a great view right outside of the museum, since it's right on a pier. MUST GO!

Must go if you love science and hands-on activities. Super fun and it is really big, too. Plan accordingly, because you will need a lot of time to get through all of the activities. It covers all sorts of branches of science from physics to biology to sound and light experiments!

The best hands-on museum in the Bay Area. You learn about many subjects like physics, biology, photography, earthquakes and optics. I highly recommend visiting from kids 5 to adults.

Wow, this place is amazing. It's a bit hard to describe...on the one level it's a science museum, but it's really an institution that has launched the hand-on science museum, and serves as the source for many exhibits you've seen elewhere. It's in a great location on the embarcadero (close to lots of other things to do, places to eat, etc.), and extremely compelling...even after two days there in a row I could not pry my kids out. I wasn't alone, even at closing time it's packed with kids and parents stuck on various exhibits, etc. waiting for just a few more minutes to try things out. Really amazing hands-on spot, worth a visit and re-visit.

Awesome place to experience natural processes and applications of math and science

It is so much fun and will take a couple hours to get through everything. It isn't just a museum. It is very hands on and most of them will just make you go, "What?" or, "Whoa." You must go here! We went on a Thursday. Wasn't to busy. Great for all ages, and I loved it!

Excellent. Completely interactive Experiments of physics, mathematics, light, gravity, statistics, biology. Of everything.

The sheer number of interactive exhibits on show here make this place a must-see destination for tourists and locals alike.

Went to see the exhibition on the strandbeest. Was very well done. Great museum with lots of exhibits great for families and kids.

I came to the Exploratorium with my 8 year old daughter and it was so much fun. We were in San Francisco for the day only and we came to the Exploratorium around noon on a Sunday, if we wanted to it would have taken the entire day. There is so much to see here, so in order to make your trip worth the price of admission, I would recommend allocating at least 3 hours so that you can take your time with all the exhibits. Of course the kids love all the cool science exhibits, and to be honest as an adult some of them were really interesting. I definitely would recommend coming to visit, especially if you have kids who love to soak up all the cool science exhibits. It was a great place to center our Sunday around.

Leave plenty of time, we had 3 hours and needed 5! So many interesting things to interest inquisitive minds. From psychology and the human body to electricity and mechanics.

A wonderous place for adult and child alike! Had our company party here instead of at a park for picnic and it is THE BEST! We will definitly go back to explore in depth. I have a masters from Cal and I learned a number of things! Plus, stunning views great for photos of SF looking over thr bay toward Alameda county. If you have not been since the move to Pier 15 you must go!

This is the best place in San Francisco. If any visiting friend has a child with them, I seize that as an excuse to bring them here, and sometimes when I don't have such an excuse I just I go by myself. In its new location on the Embarcadero it is even better than it was, with more room, great views over the bay, easy access by foot or on transit, and for now not very crowded. Whatever your age or knowledge of science you will find fascinating things here. My advice is to leave plenty of time for your visit, but don't try to do everything -- wander around aimlessly trying things out, spending as much time as you like on whatever you find interesting.

This was an amazing interactive science museum for all ages. Tons of stations and all promote quick learning so that people move through each and into the next, so you aren t waiting long if someone is at a station.

Was just refused entry and told that the museum is no longer doing ASTC reciprocity. This is baloney. Was at the museum several times before (less then a month ago), and haven't had an issue. Out of town visitors beware, your pass will not work, get ready to fork over $100.00 for a small family.

My daughter's favorite museum since she was 2yo. Every single thing is a manipulative. This place is huge, you can spend all day in it.

It can be quite loud. The only room that's quiet for your kid to chill out is the weather room on the 2nd floor and the outside space. Even the cafeteria is very loud.

There's no parking lot dedicated to the museum. You need to find metered parking in the area or parking lots across the way.

There's an expensive but nice cafeteria with healthy food in huge portions that you can share. There's also Cafe's just before you pay, and a new little coffee shop in the automata section. You can carry coffee around the museum.

Got there by chance so I skipped on going in but I love science and had fun just being in the lobby.
