Such an awesome place for both kids and adults. I have fond memories of going as a child, and was so happy to take my 3 year old. He was able to enjoy many of the exhibits, even if he didn't understand what exactly was going on. A nice mix of the classic exhibits i remember as a child, and some new ones. The new space is spread out and in a high tourist area, but the weather was nice and we were able to check out the outdoor exhibitions as well. Close to the Ferry Building, where we went for lunch. For a family, 2 visits a year would make up for the cost of the annual family pass. If we lived in the area, I would definitely go for that option.
Need All day to spend here. Alot of hand on experiments here, great for kids all ages. Best to read the instruction and follow it. Highly recommend for little scientist to open his or her mind.
The most fun science "museam" ive ever been to. Made me feel like a little kid running around :D
Fantastic hands on science and arts museum. A great selection of hands on exhibits explaining concepts simply from disciplines including: music, biology, physics, social sciences, optical illusions, etc. Great for all ages (super fun for young children).
great fun for young & old alike--everything is hands on
Our entire family enjoyed the Exploratorium, grandparents, parents, and kids. My only complaint is that I didn't have enough time to touch all the things! I will definitely go back next time I visit San Francisco.
Great for kids of all ages. Extremely hands on. So much to learn, with new displays at every visit!
it s a great place to take your family for some learning while having fun . It is a bit pricey . I think the location is why it costs so much . I would suggest that you be aware of the calendar as many schools go here on field trips and can get quite busy during the school time of year .
Great for kids. Spend the whole day here. Well worth the time.
Great exhibit, I suggest bringing Purell because you touch everything and there are kids all around
We love this place. I first visited this place in 1991 when I met a dude who would become a lifelong friend. We more recently visited the Exploratorium--that dude and me--with our partners and our kids. It was fun to visit as young adults ourselves so many years ago, much more fun to visit all these years later with our kids!
Fantastic place to visit where you will truly feel like a kid again. Each exhibit is so engaging that it's impossible to see the entire building.
I highly recommend attending the "after-hours" program if you're over 18, which happens roughly every Thursday evening from 6-10pm. At this time, tickets are half off and there are no kids hogging any exhibits
Best museum ever! Great for people of all ages! What a fun way to experience science in an imteractive and engaging way!
Great place to spend a couple of hours learning with the kids.
An amusement park for nerds? The thursday night after hour exhibition is amazing. i highly recommend it!
Information About Science in. Simple Working Models. Very Useful For Students of All. Ages & Interested Partice
Great place for family time. I recommend the year pass that you can upgrade your tickets to after your day visit. Exhibits are hands-on and educational. They really get kids and adults to think science. Staff is helpful and friendly. There is a restaurant and a small cafe if you get hungry. Location on the bay pier is picturesque with many photo ops for visitors. I've always enjoyed the Exploratorium since I was a kid and now my children get to enjoy it too.
So much interactive stuff for kids. Easily one of the best science centre in the world
It s always fun to learn more about science and many of the exhibits are interactive and great fun for children and adults alike.
An ideal place for children to learn didactically and also for adults
The Exploratorium is a great place for kids to explore science! And it's great for adults too! There are so many interesting things.
So much to see!! Amazing place for kids to get their energy out.
Can take a long time to look at all exhibits here. Recommend going early
We never went in but there a a few contraption outside that amazed me.
This place kept two 22 year old guys happy for a few hours. I bet you will love what's inside!
They have alot of really cool exhibits here, this place is alot of fun for everyone, kids and adults alike.
An interactive science museum with a crafty name to hide the fact that you're learning. Exploratorium is always a good time.
I love this museum. It's my second time there and will go again. Great for kids and adults
Great place for curious people who want to explore and discover a bit more about life, the world and all what is related to it.
Fantastic museum. Every exhibit is interactive and you can have a lot of fun learning about physics and human behavior. Gets pretty crowded with kids though.
You feel child once again.... you play you learn. Great place to visit.
Great place for kids and adults as well. Re-do some high school physics lab.
I like the concept of tinkering and the way this has been adopted in many exhibits.
Incredible, hands on science museum. A little, pricey but my 10 yr old and 4yr could spend all day, every day here!
Very entertaining! To spend a rainy afternoon or go with boys
Very good science museum. Need the entire day to explore the whole place. The restaurant cafe inside was not very good and pricey. Parking lot is across the road.
Really big. You need a lot of time to see everything and after 3 visits I still haven t seen anything. The lunch counter is good but cheap, and the ticket price is well worth the experience.
Fun for kids and adults. Very hands on for a science museum. Check out their 18+ programs on Thursday evenings.
One of the world's best museums. It's a great place for kids of all ages.
Spoilt by dozens of hyperactive schoolkids running around aimlessly and thoughtlessly.
Interesting for adults and kids. If you want to spend time figuring things out, go without kids :)
I would recommend this place, it was fun and educational
For our wedding anniversary on may 4th they were doing a star wars themed night it was super fun and the whole Exploratorium is a mecca for makers of all kinds .
One of the coolest attractions in San Fransisco. It's a science museum that's all hands on. Fun for all ages.
This place is a blast. There is something to fascinate anyone.
An eclectic collection of fun interactive exhibits, suitable for both kids and adults. The entrance fee is a little pricey, but worth a visit nonetheless.
This place is bigger and better than ever so many exhibits not enough time! I only gave it 4 stars because of the lack of things for small children to do wish they had a toddler Zone.
a fun science center for people of all ages - there are many fun activities for kids that will keep them busy for the entire day while adults can appreciate and understand the science behind the exhibits. worth going at least once!
Great place for kids to learn science. Very interactive exhibits are really good. Don't forget to check out the telescopes with beautiful views of sf and the bay.
Awesome, educational and fun exhibits to keep you entertained for hours.
Fantastic museum you could easily spend your whole day here. They have so many different interactive exhibits, you can enjoy them all no matter what age. If you can go on a day when there isn't too many kids, i.e. field trips, then you will have no problem moving around and playing/interacting with whatever exhibit you wish.
I attended the Thursday "at night" opening. Worth it, but bring the purell as there are lots of hands on exhibits
Come here. Do the thing. Huge collection of hands-on, interactive stuff to play with, covering all areas of science from physics to bio to even social psych (!), and everything in between. Very cool and dynamic. This place is the antithesis of the stuffy, dusty museum.
We had a lot of fun! We went on a Thursday night and it was awesome! No kids around because at that time it s only open for adults and you can purchase drinks inside. We enjoyed the experience and we are looking forward to going back because we couldn t manage to visit the whole museum! Totally recommended!!
Went there by myself as a nerdy adult and was blown away
COOLEST.PLACE.EVER! So yeah, you can say we had fun. Where else can you drink from a toilet drinking fountain?
Is there a way to give this place 6 stars?
Simply an epic epic venue. Every time I go I gain new things, gain insights into nature and the natural world, and come away with a fill head!
Go.

With hundreds of exhibits spread across six spacious indoor and outdoor galleries, Exploratorium is a world of discovery waiting to be explored.
Located at Pier 15 in San Francisco, Exploratorium is set to reopen on July 1st after being closed due to the pandemic. The museum has taken all necessary precautions to ensure the safety of its visitors while still providing an immersive experience that will leave you in awe.
What sets Exploratorium apart from other museums is its interactive approach to learning. One exhibit that's sure to capture your attention is Tactile Dome - an interactive exhibit where visitors navigate through total darkness using only their sense of touch. It's an exhilarating experience that will challenge your senses and leave you with a newfound appreciation for how we perceive our surroundings.
Another must-see exhibit is the Outdoor Gallery which features large-scale installations that explore various scientific phenomena such as wind patterns or water flow. It's a great way to connect with nature while also learning about scientific principles in action.
Exploratorium also offers various workshops and events throughout the year which provide opportunities for deeper exploration into specific topics such as robotics or chemistry. These programs are designed for all ages so whether you're a child or an adult, there's always something new to learn at this museum.
In addition to its exhibits and programs, Exploratorium also has a commitment towards sustainability by incorporating eco-friendly practices into its operations such as using renewable energy sources or reducing waste through composting efforts.
