I love this place...when you can actually get in. I love the scene, nice trendy spot. The Pink Cadillacs and Blood Orange margaritas are FAB but be careful they sneak up on you. The food is good (small plates) and expensive. The restaurant isn't big enough and during the summer months you don't want to sit outside in all the heat and traffic. We had a 30 minute wait and there were sections of the seating area that were empty! You will get drunk here if you order drinks so designate a driver. Parking is crappy b/c that's b/c it's in the middle of the gayborhood.

Went on a Thursday night because I was craving those amazing Mahi Mahi tacos and ended up waiting a hour for a table. Then when I was seated the restaurant begin to clear out but I still waited another 20 for my drink. I guess because this area is heavily populated with traffic it s always crowded. I tried to make a reservation to have to avoid all of that but OpenTable was shut down for all reservations leaving you no choice but to wait. The food and drinks are always delicious however. But for the price you pay you don t get much. So if you re looking for more bang for your buck skip this place and go somewhere else. This is the perfect place for happy hour or a small bite.

El Vez was a spot a friend of a friend recommended we check out while in Philly. We ate at the bar as the wait for the table was too long and we were too hungry. The margaritas I ordered were tasty. Not too strong, not watered down. I devoured everything on the taco tasting platter (Sea Bass, Beef, Chicken, Carnitas & Mahi Mahi). Except the sea bass taco, that one seemed a little off.

This place is literally too legit!!! So good! After the first visit I am totally obsessed. Definitely order the pink Cadillac it s delish. Definitely get the guacamole it s next level good. If you like fajitas they are the bomb dot com. AND the hostesses are the sweetest. Don t be mad at them if u can t get in and there is a long wait cause the food is THAT GOOD. But word to the wise ... make a reservation 3 weeks in advance ;) enjoy!

Their Nacho Mamma were the best I have ever tried (we added chicken and it was shredded, turned out to be great), corn was superb, chicken quesadilla was good. I personally didn't like the beef, seabass, and chicken tacos. I'd say the chicken taco was the best of the worst. Carne Asada was bad. 4 stars for the excellent nachos and corn.

Really cool, trendy and hip restaurant with a really fun atmosphere. There is so much going on in here with the velvet booths, gold bicycles on top of the rotating bar and cool wall decor that the food isn't as memorable as the ambiance.

Great menu options and a bunch of different guacamole options. We opted for the guacamole with crab meat, it was a little salty but delicious. The chips and nacho were great too, the salsa was some of the best I've had.
They do have a great lunch selection and offer a two course lunch option with a soda for $17. The appetizers and tortilla soup were really good but our main entrees were just ok.
Tortilla for the black bean enchiladas was too soft and the tomato sauce on top was too creamy, I didn't like it. Vaca frita burrito was underwhelming.
Waitress was aloof and robotic.

El Vez...muy excellent!
The Vibe is cool, the music rocks, the service good, and the food is absolutely delicious.
Start off with the salsa and chips will get you in the right mood.
Try the crab and cactus salsa. WOW, OUTSTANDING.
The shrimp tacos were superb.
The camerons Al ai Ajillo will bring fire to your palate and delight to your stomach.
The drinks are top notch.
And you must try their sorbet....

Me and my friend went to this place on an evening. We tried their food and drinks. We were really happy with the quality they served. Moreover, the place a very different and unique vibe. We went their just for a drink or two, but we ended up spending around 3 hours at this place. The place has a very good vibe that binds you in itself and you enjoy staying there.

Good ambience, cozy tables, and excellent food made for a great dining experience at El Vez in Philadelphia. We were there for dinner on a Monday night and there was a wait for a table. It was still convenient though because they took our mobile # and texted us when the table was available. So we were able to grab a drink at another bar nearby while we waited. We ordered the Macho Nachos, Taco Tasting Platter, Tortilla Soup and the spicy Michelada. Recommended!

Great funky hip atmosphere! Tacos were very good, but pricey at $14 for 3. You don't get rice or beans or any side, so expect a full plate to cost at least 20 dollars. I only tried the Perfecto margarita, it was strong and tasty. Had a really nice meal here with business associates, and all the servers were friendly, attentive and helpful.

If I could get this place to the Stars I would. If I lived in Philadelphia I would go broke in here every day LOL. Not because it's expensive but it would be expensive in itself every night. The atmosphere as soon as you walk in is hip trendy vibrant. Excellent customer service was awesome. Guacamole was amazeballs. Great drink selection. Great location in downtown but have fun finding a parking spot. The food tasted and smelled fresh and was full of flavor and presented beautifully.

Crazy experience. Action packed environment. Very busy when we went, showed up without a reservation and luckily for us someone canceled their reservation. I got the fish tacos and the original style guac was amazing. Great date for me and my girlfriend. Would recommend. Also had a bar with lots of people standing around it

El Vez is my favorite restaurant. Every time I m in Philly I try to snag a reservation. El Vez has great guac, chips, sangria, and chicken adobo tacos. You ll need a reservation to eat here but it s so worth it. You can easily book on open table. Best restaurant in my opinion!
