I stop by East Jesus at every opportunity. Tons of people at Salvation Mountain, yet the real prize is here. Always upon entering, the folks staying here greet everyone. They are genuinely friendly with a sense of humor. This was my daughters first visit (my 5th or 6th) and she went crazy with h...

After driving around slab city for a little while, we finally came to east jesus. This for my reckoning is on of the best art installations and collection of things I have ever experienced. The sounds of the wind chimes float across the air. You are welcomed by friendly locals who talk to you about ...

Population 6. Welcome to weird and wacky. Long drive, but you've got Salvation Mountain, the ruins at Bombay Beach, and, of course, the International Banana Museum on CA 111. Fun road to drive. Put the pedal to the metal. Watch out for the roller coaster section of road.

First of all, don't go over the summer haha! It can be really hot, and you won't enjoy as much as you should. The whole place is totally cool, I love this kind of art, and I'm a photographer, so that was paradise! Worth the visit!

The pieces are intriguing, and it's dog friendly (dogs must be leashed when at East Jesus, other parts of Slabs have different rul...

This was unexpectedly a rAd place to go. You can explore around a bit (and you'll want to). I donated $5 and was able to grab a necklace as a memento. I want sure what to expect but after exploring it, it's one of those places you are glad exists on the planet. Respect it and go.
