Doukenie is such a pleasant place to visit. The wines are first rate too. We love it so much that we make the winery part of our normal travels when we are out their way.
Doukenie is such a pleasant place to visit. The wines are first rate too. We love it so much that we make the winery part of our normal travels when we are out their way.
The staff were extremely gracious hosts, and my group had an amazing time! Thanks for having us!
Quite disappointing. In my opinion terrible wine. Cheap low-quality cheeses and meats. Stale bread with water added to re-heat. Everything in this place reeks of low-class, mediocre, sub-standard, overly commercialized, "big-box" type impersonal factory, especially the ambiance. The clientele seem h...
Celebrated sister's birthday here. A reservation was helpful because the 7 of us got our own personal tasting bar. The server for the tasting was fun. Wine was great, and we purchased a few bottles to take with us!
On a great weather day this place is close to perfect. Food from the food truck and a good afternoon drinking wine.
Excellent wines, beautiful property and if you have the privilege to meet Hope, say hello for me!
Excellent wine, good service, beautiful scenery. Best wine club I've ever joined!
Great wines and views. And shout outs to Charlie the dog!
Great wine, great atmosphere, right off of a private lake. Definitely one of our favorites.
Great wines and customer service! Despite being here several times, we always do a tasting because it's hard to pick favorites. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, the history of this place is interesting too. The atmosphere here is lively but not loud, light, and welcoming. Definitely worth a visit!
My wife and I went here recently and really enjoyed the experience. Diana was our wine tasting coordinator and proved to be knowledgeable and very pleasant. We learned the background of how the winery came to be and about the quality of the wines. They have been around for a while and have won numer...
Wonderful atmosphere. We showed as a party of three with no reservation, the hostess was very accommodating and found us a table. All tables were 8+feet away keeping social distancing guidelines. The wine was excellent and affordable. Overall, I had a pleasant experience and would highly recommen...
We were headed to a different winery that we had been to a few times before. For some reason we decided to stop at Doukenie instead. What a find! I liked all the wines but am partial to the cab sauv. There are a lot of pleasant wines in NOVA. this vineyard and winery stood out for its pure charm. Be...
No children allowed on the property Post it on the sign with your other rules
Great people, terrific red wines, fabulous cab franc, ask about the baklava!
Fantastic wines and great location, family friendly all-around.
Beautiful setting in for a winery. Very good red wines, white wines little sweet for my taste.
Relaxing atmosphere and fun place to meet new people. The Tasting was wonderful as always, due to the Expertise and knowledge of our Server.
Pretty setting, great wines... Definitely coming back.
Went to this winery after reading about it online. It was very beautiful and had a great ambience. After trying a few flights I realized the wines were not of my taste but decent and similar to table wines at most places. The staff was beyond friendly and I will definitely come back for a relaxing d...
I had a tasting with Bill today and it was lovely. Their dessert wine was shockingly delicious but the Zeus was the best!
While the wine is good, the environment nice, the energy and attitudes of much of the staff, including whom I noticed in many pictures on the walls outside the lavatory to be one of the owners (a female) was cold, arrogant or au-dessus des autres , scowling at me after I extended a nod and smile a...
Really enjoyed the wine here. The "Zeus" wine was absolutely olympic full of character and complexity. Keep this winery on your short-list to visit!
Visited for the Destination Races half marathon in June of 2017. The property is extensive and pretty nice, but the road leading to it was a bit of a challenge for my car (low ground clearance). We tasted two of the host's wines during the post-race festival--both nice, but neither memorable to buy ...
Beautiful grounds but for the price tasting pours could be better. They came in plastic dressing cups and were maybe one sip. Even with COVID, they should serve in a proper wine glass. Their wines were ok, nothing to brag about. We each ordered tasting and shared a bottle. I also felt rushed by our ...
Our favorite Loudoun County winery! A sense of family, friendly staff, beautiful setting and delicious wines. You always feel welcome here. Take the 'taste of science' tour, incredibly interesting and delicious. The summer bistro nites are awesome! Good food, yummy wine and music!! Going to th...
Wonderful courteous staff, great reds and beautiful scenery
One of best thought out small wineries I was so surprised by there wines and the property the views are great and can only get better in the spring. The knowledge of our wine ambassador was unbelievable they have the perfect balance with More
The key to a good winery is the tasting experience and great wines. Thankfully this place has both. The tasting experience is educational and entertaining; something that less wineries focus on these days. And the wines are great as well. Definitely check this place out.
Did not even stay for a tasting. When we asked the server about tastings, he did not even acknowledge us, he said look at the board. Rude. We do not like when you cant pick your own wines to taste. Especially for $12 a taste. We tried to speak with him and he just read a receipt and ignored us. W...
Loved this place until a foodtruck came with his loud generator and ruined it.
Had a great evening on Friday night with live music and a food truck and good friends. The wine was good and the band brilliant if a tad to loud for the size of the room.
Service was awful. It was as though we didn't exist and we spent a lot of money. Plus the wine was ok
Unfortunately we didn't get to taste the wines b/c we were heading back home but we did get to have a picnic by the picturesque pond. Beautiful view, surrounded by mountains and great for a romantic sit on the ground traditional picnic or you can use thier various picnic tables. Recommend having bu...
Good wine, great staff, and in a beautiful area to boot.
This is a small winery with no grapes and a very small unattractive bar---much nicer places nearby
Such a lovely afternoon. I felt like the world just slowed down a bit as we shared a couple of flights of wine with some olive tampenade on the patio. Lovely musician playing nearby, really made the experience complete.
We will certainly be back soon when the leaves will be in full color!
Great wine! Plenty of indoor seating. We were allowed to bring our own food in.
Midweek, and the customer service was great. Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable. Not too mention the wines were pretty darn good too.
Fell in love with Hope wine. Smooth and delicious. I am enjoying the Friday night dinner by the pond and music. Awwwwwwwwwwwwww summertime
Very good wine, beautiful environment, the staff is knowledgeable and simply great. Listen the story of the Greek family that owns the place. We had a wonderful time with tasting and than having our wine with a great BBQ from a food truck HogItUpBBQ.
I told the wine server that I did not like white wine, so she substituted extra red wines for my white wines which was fantastic! The reds are French oak, and some slightly over oaked for me. However the Zeus was a great red blend that was not over oaked. BBQ for dinner from a local food truck. What...
Took my wife and sisters here for a birthday party. Service was excellent with good food and wines. The winery was very nice, clean, and safe. Will go back in the future.
Downright rude "service" and snobbery! I almost can't believe how obnoxious their "wine educators" (yes, multiple) were to us and other patrons! Don't bother coming here unless you're a member of their wine club, or they'll treat you like you're an annoyance. Really cliquish and childish attitudes ...
This winery puts Virginia wine country s best foot forward! Not only is the atmosphere and scenery absolutely stellar, the wines (esp the reds) are amazing! We ve been to a lot of VA wineries, but this is one of the best. Tasting experience was extremely well done by the manager this past Saturday. ...
Great landscape. Good variety of wines and the staff is really friendly.
Best N. VA Winery, by far. Atmosphere, staff and Wines are exceptional.
We always enjoy our quiet outdoor visits to this family-run winery.
Went here on Black Friday with family and we had a great time! Tasting was very informative and fun, learned tons of history about the winery and wine making process. Red wines here really stand out.
Website says tasting room closes at 6, showed up at 5:32 and they tell us wine tasting ended at 5:30. Then as we are leaving a man walks in and starts a tasting for another group. It seems the four lazy female employees are the problem who were sitting behind the counter just drinking glasses of win...
I have enjoyed EVERY visit! Great staff, great wine maker, great set up and oh yeah great wine. Only wish I could get out there more often. Bring a fishing pole, the kids will love it.
Just left. Great fire pit experience. Good wine. Good time.
Really liked this place. They had a dog (charlie) to greet you at the door. All of their wines were good and they had a nice variety. The inside is open and welcoming. Large not crowded and they have a lot of nice outdoor patio space for spring and summer. The wine vintner is French so all of the wi...
Bustling winery with nice firepits, but it's a bummer that kids and dogs are NOT allowed and can't bring your own food. While the tables are socially distanced 6 feet apart and the servers wear masks, the winery was packed with an uppity vibe.
Glad we made an online reservation for the firepits a...
The Cabernet Sauvignon was great. The homemade Baklava was delicious. As far as the atmosphere, we had a very relaxing experience.
Good wines. We liked all the wines we tasted. Staff was knowledgeable, patient, and friendly.
Good selection of wines at reasonable prices compared to some other Nova wineries. A group of us split a bottle and ordered the plate with a selection of meet and cheeses, sat outside, and enjoyed the scenery and live music. Despite it being Mother's Day it was not over crowded.
Hospitable and courteous staff, lovely views of the lake from all seating outdoors, ample outdoor seating 8-10 ft apart (including seating by the water!), peaceful scenic, nice outdoor music, good snack food and some entrees, and great wines! The Cabernet ($40 non-member) is lovely, as were the othe...
Love this winery, & we have visited many in NOVA. Beautiful place, FABULOUS Italian cooking classes! Very good wines.
Ahh, eat the baklava. Serious French-style wine. Nothing jammy or insipid here.
Ehh, too stuffy for me. Beautiful grounds and knowledgeable staff though.
Beautiful experience and scenery. Joanne was an absolute pleasure.
