Lovely rustic tap House and restaurant. Great selection of burgers and hotdogs. Meals served on metal trays. I had a very cheesy burger that was delicious. Recommend by a friend and advised to book, especially at weekends.

Nice pub with interesting history. Very nice food with decent portion sizes and a few real ales to choose from.

Fantastic surroundings and even better food. Too much to choose from so will certainly be back!

Vegan menu!
Staying in the nearby Cheviot hills finding decent veggie/ vegan food has not been easy. Pub food generally harks back to the 80's -scampi and chips, lasagne, veggie lasagne, risotto if you're lucky. So we were delighted to find that this dog friendly restaurant/ pub had a decent vegan menu with some different/ interesting options. Sweetcorn fritters might have benefited from a bit of spice and the tofu in the hanging kebab might have been better marinated, but these are minor points. Good value.
Good social distancing/ Covid measures in place, although lack of tables meant we had to eat earlier than we we would have liked.
It was a bit cold, but that seems to be the way with pubs around here.

Hadnt been in this pub for years and what a surprise. Called in for lunch and it was one of the best we had had lately. Service was impeccable. Toilets were clean. Food was delicious and large portions with plenty of choice

Quirky pub, seems to be fairly foody, but then it is a smoke house. Good food and burgers. They do a Sunday lunch which is also nice.

If you want to get a full on burgergasm, this is the place to be. Friendly prices, great food, decent selection of beers.

Food fabb, bit of a wait but we'll worth it if you like smokehouse food, even took a doggy bag home which the staff very kindly offered to wrap for us, nothing was too much trouble.

Good value burger, fries and onion rings. Chocolate dessert not great. Good setting and atmosphere. We would recommend.

We visited during Covid Tier 2. The Dirty Bottles handled the restrictions well and the staff, ambiance, drinks and food were all perfect AND they are dog friendly! So good we went twice during out holiday nearby.

Really good bar in Alnwick. Love the automated beer dispenser and food was outstanding. Well done and keep up the good work.

Few original features intact which leaves the place feeling gimmicky.
The bar is tucked away and doesn't feel welcoming at all, like you're in the naughty corner for not wanting food which is reinforced by the staff not being particularly welcoming.
Over a fiver for a brown ale and a lime+soda. It's like going to wetherspoons but more expensive and with even less charm.

What a find! Stopped off for a spot of lunch and had the chili dog. It was a feast, the staff were all friendly and professional. I only wish I wasn't driving so I could use the self service beer taps...Next time though!

Thought promising. Disappointing mojito classic, all ice, tasted of just soda and lime and way to much ice- could not taste the alcohol. Seating is virtuallt zero unless u are eating.

I love the veggie options here, try the hallumi kebab or the veggie lasagna, they serve huge hearty portions and the homemade chunky chips are fabulous!

Staff are a tad slow at responding due to orders taken via a iPad. Taps on the table are great and the food is class

Stayed a stone throws away from here on our last visit to Alnwick. Popped in for lunch with the family and was not disappointed. Really nice food, very friendly service, and a well laid out interior. Worth a visit if you are in the area!
