They offer a few ferries to choose from depending on your destination and time you want to leave. Bring your car with you and drive on or park in it the garage across the street and walk on. They have an on shore deli to grab a quick bite from before you board or after you've docked. On the boat they offer top deck seating for a beautiful view and a relaxing ride. Down below they have a snack bar with a variety of foods like soups, sandwiches, pastries and candy with a variety of drinks as well. They also have a bar and TV so you can watch the news or keep score on your game. Staff is friendly & informative. Prices have gone up over the years but they have a membership that offers discounts sometimes. It would be nice to see the boats get a makeover.

Reservations were canceled due to a nor easter which is understandable. What was absolutely unacceptable was not receiving any notification of cancellation. When I arrived at the ferry, I was greeted by a worker who had debatably the worst attitude I ve seen in a long time, and was absolutely no help. The person I spoke to on the phone wasn t much better. It probably would have been less of a headache to just drive.

I'm normally a Port Jeff Ferry user, that is the Ferry that takes me closest to where I normally go on the Island, this time I had to go to the North Fork so I decided to go Orient point. This was a "Help my kid move" trip and I have to say it went well. If I have to go to the North Fork again I will likely go with this Ferry, it was way better than driving on the Island.

Always a great experience - in the 35+ years I've been taking it, it's never once been late. Can't say that about ANY other form of public transportation! Dedicated, hardworking staff (literally - tough physical jobs in all weathers), professional, etc. Such a relaxing, scenic way to get to/from New England

The orient point side is great, but the new London side is HORRIBLE. WORST customer service I ve everr witnessed. Staff abuses their authority and takes it to a whole other level. I witnessed a terribleee incident occur in front of children families etc...and all I can say is that I will never again take this ferry from new London. EXTREME ABUSE OF POWER FROM NEW LONDON SIDE.

I take the ferry several times a year and I'm always impressed at how efficient it is. There are never any surprises and the service is very reliable. I love that I can bring my dog on the car ferry, and the staff always gives my pup a warm hello and ear scratch. Traveling on the east coast is rarely stress-free, so I take the chance to enjoy the break from driving and the scenery when I'm on the ferry!

If you live more towards the middle or western side of Long Island and need to get to Rhode Island or greater New England area, this is the way to go, especially when traveling with children. The drive to the ferry is more relaxing, the ferry ride is only 1.5 hours to New London. I hate driving through Connecticut or going over the throgs neck. People drive like animals and it s just unpleasant. If you can avoid it, why not? Also price wise, you end up spending comparable amounts of money on the ferry ticket compared to the cost of tolls, gas, food stops, etc.

The trip was nice, being on a motorcycle meant I was one of the first to board. They put you in some weird spaces but they make sure its a place where the bike will not tip over. They take extra care to make sure they place you appropriately. The food on board was nothing amazing but good to grab a quick bite. They had outlets on board so that you were able to charge your devices. Well worth the cost if going to Long Island to avoid NYC

Great way to cross the sound at lowest possible stress . Nice ride if weather is calm. Converse is also true. Food is available on board and actually pretty good. Fare for a car includes driver fare but others have to pay as well. If your destination is eastern Long Island its perfect
