Cope can not keep the same doctors for very long. The constant switching of doctors is not good mental health. Each new doctor you see wants to change your meds even if you are doing good on what you are taking. The Doctors dont know your past or try to even get to know your situation. They just want you to be textbook and not an individual. This causes more anxiety and suffering and you can not keep changing like that without a even more serious disorders happening.
I really urge you to find a better place for your mental health care. Cope is not what they say they are. I have been with them for 30 years. The care they give you now is a pathetic attempt to be what they once were and now arent. Beware of them.
Their system fails. 1- when calling for an intake they don t ask what your seeking. So an addict calls for an intake, is scheduled for 2 weeks out.
2- intake day arrives, while waiting in lobby hear receptionist was able to get someone an intake apt for same day. Now that s disappointing because no one went out of their way to get the addict a sooner intake apt.
3- during intake is told won t be able to start meds until late next week. Now you would think if they asked when scheduling the intake what it was for they would schedule the intake the day they do the meds or at least the day before. But no to them it makes sense making and addict wait longer and longer, when it already takes a lot for an addict to even ask for help.
So yes it was extremely disappointing that this place is supposed to offer services. Supposed to be compassionate and understanding yet may be putting lives at risk by not acting promptly or relooking at they way they run their system and make changes.
