I lived at 1 of their complexes for 4 years. Paid rent on time every month. No nothing in my file. Very clean person may I add. They took my whole deposit, but see I called Nicole 4 times in 44 days NOT 1 CALL BACK. I had to call catholic charities since they own building and ask where is my deposit? Total days after move out i have Proof of text from office staff day 53. 1 week later they say it was used for repairs ...750 IN REPAIRS. Here is great thing. I have LOCKED MAIL at my new place. They said the original letter must have GOT LOST. Better hope you have that documentation because law states they had 30 days...not 53....its LAWYER TIME
One of the worst management companies I've ever came across and I've worked in the industry for 10+ years
This company and its management have no ethics or respect for their employees or tenants. I give them 0 stars. Would not recommend working for them nor living in their properties , unless you hate yourself. Then by all means go for it.
OF COURSE NO RESPONSE AS EXPECTED.
I suggest investing in the oregon state law book on tenant landlord laws if you rent from them it will be used often unless you can afford to hire a lawyer and pay rent twice and love being afraid to go home and living in a violent hostile situation
There are so many laws and regulations being broken ill just make a partial list for now
* Harassment of tenants (as if they were in jr. high like harassment, standing outside your door and laughing and talking about you in an obvious attempt to get you to move out)
* Falsely filling out paperwork and telling new tenants not to put dates on their lease ( during c_vid when money came available for rent help to already established tenants)
* Theft of rent payments (only the ones made via money orders)
* Illegally evicting tenants who paid rent all year on time in full for "non payment of rent"
* Refusal to do a walk thru on day of lease signing but instant on having YOU sign the document even after you point out the unfinished work in the apartment...that never got finished still
* Refusal to give tenant copy of their lease agreement
* Didn't provide the amenities offered in lease such as internet and cable clearly stated and advertised
*Allowing people who did not qualify to rent in LOW INCOME HOUSING units and were denied but since cascade was friends with them they let it slide
No responses back to emails or phone calls
* theft of security deposit
* Filled for an eviction twice- once as a scare tactic with false and incorrect info, then a real eviction filed with courts with some correct info ending in a dropped case due to their own lack of effort and knowledge
When I moved into the wind river apartments a couple years ago the first unit I lived in was unit 1. We first noticed the carpets hadn t been replaced and when we asked about it the manager said that they are expecting to do renovations soon so they put it on hold. I lived in that unit for two years I believe. After I moved out I eventually moved back into the same apartment complex but into a different unit and it wasn t much better. They told me the same thing that they were expecting renovations soon and that s why the carpet wasn t replaced even though the previous tenets (I knew them personally) lived there over 5 years with animals and it didn t get replaced. The linoleum floor is torn in a small part in the kitchen and the cupboards don t stay shut. Eventually the ceiling above my shower started to fall apart from what looked like water damage and it definitely felt wet but all that was done was a patch job and nothing else. But what I m upset about the most is the carpets because it s a dead carpet and it s had an unpleasant smell that I haven t been able to get rid of. I just want the carpet replaced and I ve had no luck. When I eventually move out of here I won t be coming back and I won t be recommending anyone to live here.
Great company to work for, and great properties to live at! I have worked for Cascade for many years, as well as lived at a few properties and have nothing but good things to say!
Called HR to report Harassment by CM employee/Property Manager out Hood River, Oregon. Told me it wasn't there problem...
I would not recommend anyone to this rental company they have ignored my request for months now once my lease is up my family and I will be moveing
Management and maintenance do not care about tenants. All they care about is filling the apartments and getting money. I knew when I moved in they were the type that were gonna try to keep my deposit. They did. But we went to court. They did get some of the deposit because I had 2 small dogs. Accidents do happen. The electrical problems were never resolved. The dish washer turned my kitchen into a swimming pool every time I used it and that was never resolved. Flea infestations on the patio. They did nothing about. Ants in the kitchen. They do nothing about rude inconsiderate people. Lease has dog breed restrictions, and there were a few restricted breeds there so when I spoke with Nathan, the manager, about it he simply said we haven t had a problem with it yet . In my opinion he broke the lease. He allowed neighbors to keep 4 cars in the parking lot to work on them since only 2 of them work. The cars were supposed to be for sale but in the two years I was there they were still being worked on and management did nothing not to mention there s no parking for visitors. Much less tenants. This place is going downhill so fast I couldn t bear living there anymore. I feel bad for the people who live there currently because they cannot afford attorneys and they have to go along with management because they don t have financial support to go through court with Nathan. I would imagine everyone who lives there loses their deposit for bogus reasons. Because they can t afford legal counsel. I would not recommend this place for anyone. no wonder there are so many homeless out here.
