A beautiful paradise, well preserved for future generations...
Wonderful time. Our church was able to use the camp site. The many trials and water front they have. With the fireplace. The many cabins you can choose from. To the amazing cooking staff. Them being super accommodating. Amazing view and atmosphere. Was a treasure to be there.
Great place to hold your event. The main Lodge is spacious and has a beautiful deck overlooking the lake with many chairs to kick back and relax. There is a small cafe kitchen area for use within the main lodge and the kitchen staff can deliver your groups snacks there to you. The smaller cabins are clean and roomy. The lake is great for swimming, has diving and slides . They offer resident summer camp for kids in grades 5-12. They serve the campers three meals a day plus snack and the kitchen staff can handle all special dietary needs.
We hold our Presbytery Women's Retreat here every year. Great staff. Beautiful setting witch hiking trails to explore. Rooms are dorm style: 2 bunk beds per room (more comfortable mattresses than most camp facilities), 6 rooms per section with group lounge area and bathroom facilities.
It's the best camp by far I've ever been to. It is very fun and the counsellors are really nice! You do fun activities and you can make friends there. You definitely should go to Camp Akita!!!!!
I remember camp Akita from 5th or 6th grade nelsonville York camping trip. It was so amazing funny this place popped on my head after almost 20 years out of no where. I wonder if they still take the kids here every year once they hit that grade. It was a fond experience i remember it was beautiful. Lots of activities the atff was amazing the food was awesome and the gift shop was nice. I'd love to take my kids here for a weekend im going to have to check into it!
My husband and both my kids have gone here on their 6th grade field trip and had a great time!
Our church has had a women's retreat here for the last 2 yrs! It's a beautiful and serin place to stay! I am praying we do it again in the spring of 2020! Their cook is very special and she does an awesome job accommodating our crew! Thanks!!
