BUILD: Igniting the Potential of Youth through Entrepreneurship

BUILD is a non-profit organization that aims to empower young people from under-resourced communities by providing them with the skills and resources they need to succeed in high school, college, and beyond. The organization achieves this goal by leveraging the power of entrepreneurship to inspire and motivate young people to pursue their dreams.

At BUILD, we believe that every young person has the potential to achieve great things. However, many young people from under-resourced communities face significant barriers that prevent them from realizing their full potential. These barriers can include poverty, lack of access to quality education and resources, limited opportunities for personal growth and development, and more.

To address these challenges head-on, BUILD offers a unique program that combines entrepreneurship education with mentorship and support services. Through our program, students learn how to start their own businesses while also developing critical skills such as leadership, teamwork, communication, problem-solving, financial literacy, and more.

Our program is designed for students in grades 9-12 who attend schools in under-resourced communities across the United States. We work closely with schools and community organizations to identify students who would benefit most from our program.

Once enrolled in our program, students are paired with mentors who are successful entrepreneurs or business professionals. These mentors provide one-on-one coaching and support throughout the entire process of starting a business - from ideation to launch.

In addition to mentorship support services provided by BUILD staff members help students develop essential skills such as marketing research analysis financial planning product development sales strategy customer service management team building presentation skills public speaking networking event planning project management time management goal setting decision making risk-taking creativity innovation adaptability resilience self-confidence self-awareness emotional intelligence cultural competence social responsibility ethical leadership civic engagement community service advocacy activism etc.
