Absolutely fantastic space! Provides an incredible value for the money.

Capital Factory is filled to the brim with entrepreneurial people, productive work spaces & great snacks. I was skeptical at first, but now I totally see the value here.

Highly recommend grabbing a space at Capital Factory if you are an entrepreneur looking for a sociable place to produce your next big thing!

If you live in Austin and are an Entrepreneur or startup, you better be a member. This is the place to be for networking, business development. making connections and so much more. Google has a permanent presence there with Cloud. There is always something going on. I was happy I could come here while visiting and exhibiting for SXSW. I got to charge my devices and my own internal batteries in between my days activities. The location is perfect and the view from top of building gorgeous. They take care of you and your business's needs.

Would have given them 0 rating if possible. Signed up for an event that capital factory organized at TMC. Registered for the event and got a ticket through eventbrite. A day before the event they emailed me and told me that I am in the waitinglist. I am a businessman and this is not how events and appointments are handled. They told me to check back an hour before the event. Called and texted them an hour before the event but they did not respond. Sure enough get a text 5 minutes before the event stating it was Eventbrites fault. All in all they have handled the situation horribly, wasting my valuable time that I had set aside. Did not even iffer to accomodate me for their mistake.

I really enjoyed this place until they removed the free snacks. Now it feels like fascist Italy with cameras and eyeballs everywhere reminding you to pay for what was once free. I'm worried that the perks/benefits of working here are only going to diminish and it's now clear that the management is more concerned with profits than member well being.

This place also has a ridiculous amount of rules, procedures, departments, and formalities.

We visited Capital Factory during the 2015 Startup Crawl. This is a very cool place, and great environment to use for a startup office, while you are getting off the ground.

If I ever find myself in the need to this type of office space, I'll definitely try to use them.

Cool place for meetups, not sure I could work in a place like this...

The idea is that there's tons of people to network with, but in reality they're all there to do a job. A job that has nothing to do with YOU.

"Alright, but there's stuff happening, so that's exciting." Yeah... But there's stuff happening down on the street level as well.

Don't kid yourself, you can work at a coffee shop if you had to, this is just a place for startups to snub their nose at the fact they got some VC and can waste it on "office space" that they have to schedule around other members.

I went through a tour today and was helped greatly by Alex who sits at the reception. This place certainly has a vibe to be a good place for budding entrepreneurs but with a caveat. Unlike Silicon Valley where most of the startups seem to be extremely focused, this place emanates non seriousness to a substantial extent with an incredible display of mediocrity without a shame. A charlatan took me to a tour with layers of makeup (to camouflage skin flaws) and with the spurious cat walk looked desperate for attention. The self proclaimed celebrity who happens to be merely a coordinator quite indecorously attempted elegance but failed miserably when waving her hands were responded with an equivalent fake smile and hollow expressions. Perhaps not everyone can profuse eloquence and poise naturally. A great deal of me deciding not to use this place attributes to the display of pompousness by this inept and dud salesperson who displeased me to my guts. I wish the German philosopher Nietzsche have had the pleasure of witnessing this shoddiness and I am sure that it would have inspired him to write another book specifically focusing on Untermensch (subhumans).
Overall an alright place but with some abysmal coordinators. I kind of agree with Scott Peterson that it may be a good platform for attending events.

Review Focus: Day Pass User

Capital Factory meets the needs for the entrepreneurial and startup / tech niche market but not for a day-to-day business professional.
I visited recently on a day pass ($25 for 24 hours). The area you're given access to with this pass is the Capital Factory common area in the Omni Lobby. The space has a cool vibe, modern and minimalist decor, and a comfy stage with Love Sacs for lounging. Tables scattered throughout and some high tops against the wall. Coffee and Tea are part of the package.
The check-in process was easy enough (just a couple of fields on an iPad), but when initially stepped in to inquire about the pass, I had to draw the information out of the front desk lady.

I'd like to give some feedback to management and encourage them to train the front desk to provide better information at "check-in" for day-pass guests and be more forthcoming with general inquiries. Although you might think some of it is self-evident (i.e. where to sit, whether coffee is included) I would encourage you to make it a standard to share this info to make a one-time visitor feel comfortable. Prefer not to give this speech each time? You could print it on the wi-fi day-pass cards.

Note that this common area will have music playing over the speakers all day. If you have to make calls and cannot have the music playing over your mic to your attendees, this is not the place for you. I was very disappointed with this... I usually spend nearly half of my day on VoIP or video conference calls but after my first morning call, I scrambled to reschedule the rest of my meetings that day because the music was too loud and could be heard over my noise-cancelling mic (I'm in the tech industry, but as a professional, I still cannot have T Swift jamming over my mic during our Sys Admin call of the day). I usually co-work at Orange Coworking in S Austin, and they have cool tunes playing at low volume that is never heard over my mic. I was expecting the same from other co-working spaces.

Another reason I scrambled to resched/cancel, is the fact that the day pass does not give you access to their full Google Fiber network network. I noticed some choppiness on the first call, and when I checked my speed, I was getting a meager 8-10 mbps. Good enough for basic usage / email but not for stable screensharing and Video Conferencing. And no, it wasn't my hardware. My macbook pulls nearly 300 mbps on my home network. This should've been stated when signing up for the day pass.

The last bit of my experience involves being shuffled around -which I understand, since they rent their space out for meetings, but should've mentioned this upon sign up that morning-. Luckily I had cancelled my afternoon calls and didn't have to relocate in the middle of a Video Conference. Although not impolite, the lady that asked me to move approached it rather unprofessionally ("just FYI, we're having a meeting here soon, and I know you paid for 24 hours, so we're gonna let you use the 5th floor"). Being told they were "letting" me use something truly came across like they were doing me a big favor. I know it's a stinky $25, but I am your patron and client. I understand that the 5th floor may be premium member space, but as you stated, I paid for the 24hrs and needed to work! By accepting my money you agreed to provide me a reasonable working space. I once again encourage management to train client-facing employees and how to handle situations where you have to displace someone.

Overall, seems like a cool spot, with neat decor, and a very exciting, dynamic environment. I'd like to state no one was outright rude... just disinterested, and not experienced with professional-level customer service. This may be a great spot for startups and think tanks and full-members, but for day guests, this location is not conducive to daily work that involves teleconferencing.

Superb facility for entrepreneurs and startups. Staff is knowledgeable and trained, they are supporting and mentoring every starup in their center. They have maintained very friendly environment within the center. Capital factory is well connected with the ecosystem in austin and whole TX and engaging investors as well with startups. They are also collaborating with international incubators for knowledge sharing. Great work!

They kicked us out of our space to accommodate a bigger company. They only gave us 20 days to vacate our office which was disruptive to our business and employees.

The manner in which they handled this situation was unprofessional. I will no longer recommend this space to friends and peers.

Don t give your money to a company that will throw you under the bus. There are plenty of co-working spaces in Austin that care about small startups.

*UPDATE*: A current member told me my old office is occupied by this innovative new startup called Walmart!

That tells you everything you need to know about the state and priorities of Capital Factory.

Entrepreneurs UNITE! The Capital Factory (CapFactory to those in the know!) is the 'center of gravity' for everything entrepreneurial in ATX. Have an idea for the next FaceBook? Tired of working for the 'man'? Or perhaps you just like rad events with free beer!? The CF is your one stop shop for all things 'Trep' here in ATX. Josh Baer (the dude behind the magic) host an 'info' session once a month that is great. GO CHECK IT OUT!

-Cheers
