Bethany Care Centre

My Mother was admitted on Thursday afternoon and when I visited her Sunday, 4 days later, her Toiletries had not been opened, ie: Her toothbrush, body soap, deodorant, shampoo were still in her bag.. So...they didn't wash her ? She couldn't have brushed her teeth...She has dementia and can't do it on her own and THEY should know this! If they only shower the patients one a week , how can this be healthy . What if the patient soils themselves??? Are they left to sit in the mess for hours??

Very caring staff. My mother has really improved since being at Bethany.

They serve extremely nice soup and beautiful porridge!

Applied for housing there as my husband is dying from stage 4 cancer and I need secure housing that I can afford , we met with a manager who rolled.her eyes and was very rude in the interaction.. was so incredibly uncomfortable and felt so un welcome .. 1 week later was told we were declined but they won't say why ( will be asking for assistance from the government agencies and a lawyer to get a good explanation) so we now join the many homeless in calgary .. moved into our truck shortly after our horrid appointment...

The first week my mother was there, she, my dad was left a voice message thatthry had lost my mom who has dementia, that they didn't notice that she was missing until strangers found her after she had fallen, and was injured and drove her back to the facility. My dad, sister and brother-in-law did not receive the phone message and got quite a shock when they saw her face bandaged up and her glasses missing when they visited layer that afternoon. She had no coat on and it was minus 10. The staff tried to make light of the incident when I asked about their protocols and procedures for care. A week later I hear s 70 year old man went missing from the same facility. What is going on there?

Absolutely uncaring, unsympathetic, unprofessional, and non spiritual director. They claim to be a caring society but caring begins within and the way you treat your fellow mankind. Would not recommend Bethany Care!

They called me at 6:45 AM and told me to never call again when I followed up.

After weeks of ill advised recommendation from the aid Jenny our mother fell very ill. We told the aid we did not agree with what she suggested for dietary intake. The aid for our mother was wrong causing her to fall very ill after we told her it wasn t the correct diet. The dietary aide did nothing but cause problems and when we were not present insisted of feeding our loved one foods which made her worse. Please be cautions of one of the aides. here as they complicate things with inexperience diet recommendations

My father was transferred here from Beauview (thankfully), and the difference in his care and the atmosphere was night and day! The staff here on the 8th floor are very caring, well-trained compassionate professionals. The unit is bright and open, and residents' rooms are roomy and clean. My father's room is very large with his own sink, large windows and a small window that opens for fresh air. Sadly, my father is in palliative care and will pass any time now. I am writing this review from his bedside. My family could not be in better hands right now. To our surprise, Dad gets to remain in his room in the same unit. We have been provided comfortable chairs, pillows, blankets, fresh food, water, coffee, a Bluetooth stereo, an iPad with wifi - all complimentary. They've thought of everything! Most importantly, we are visited regularly throughout the day and night by staff and nurses who have ensured my father is comfortable, clean and cared for. With each visit they also check to see if we, the family, need anything - and have made us feel cared for as well.
The Bethany Care Center has exceeded our expectations of a nursing home. I would give them 10 stars if I could!

Very very unprofessional. They treat you like your a second class citizen. They had someone who couldn't answer any questions sign the lease. They control how you live. No Christmas lights, no candles, no smudging, no insence. I took my money back and did not sign. But they have a sign in their office that's says something about being yourself. Huh, infringed on my spirituality !! Do not rent here. Even the guy in the comman room I chatted with had been there for a long time wasn't very happy!!! SENIORS, Do not use this place for independent living!!!
