It's a good place to start if you are looking for volunteer opportunities
Orientation days with our son at the University of Utah.
Great options for service. You can knit or do things one time, or find things to do regularly. I deliver meals to elderly who need assistance. I enjoy it
I have gone and talked with them, but the volunteer options they had were for me a little limited. And they don't work with you out, what may work with you. Still I am glad that the university has this place.
If you want to get involved on campus and like service the Bennion Center is for you. Everyone is very kind and they have annual service projects you can go to, such as Legacy of Lowell and Project Youth. It's a great way to make new friends and have fun!
Looking to get involved on campus and help your community? Stop by the Bennion Center!
It's an excellent place to learn about volunteering and find a group to work for and achieve a worthwhile goal. There are several programs to interest anyone, including the usual like teaching or helping out with monthly service projects, but also interesting ones like trips during a break where you still help out a local community.

The Bennion Center is a community engagement hub located on campus that connects students, faculty, and staff to various opportunities for experiential learning, volunteering, and leadership. The center has been serving the University of Utah since 1987 and has become an integral part of the university's mission to promote civic engagement.
The Bennion Center offers a wide range of programs that cater to different interests and skill sets. For instance, students who are interested in environmental sustainability can participate in the Sustainable Campus Initiative Fund (SCIF), which provides funding for projects that promote sustainable practices on campus. Similarly, those who are passionate about social justice can join the Social Justice Student Leadership Council (SJSLC) or participate in one of the many service projects organized by the center.
One of the unique features of the Bennion Center is its focus on experiential learning. The center believes that hands-on experience is essential for developing skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication. To this end, it offers several programs that provide students with opportunities to apply their classroom knowledge in real-world settings.
For example, through its Alternative Breaks program, students can travel to different parts of the country during school breaks to engage in service projects related to issues such as poverty alleviation or disaster relief. This program not only allows students to make a positive impact but also helps them develop cultural competence by exposing them to diverse communities.
Another program offered by the Bennion Center is Service-Learning. This program integrates community service into academic coursework so that students can gain practical experience while earning academic credit. Through Service-Learning courses, students work with community partners on projects related to their field of study while reflecting on their experiences through class discussions and assignments.
In addition to these programs focused on student development and engagement with communities outside campus walls; The Bennion Center also provides resources for faculty members who want incorporate community-engaged teaching into their courses or research activities.
For instance; Faculty members can apply for Community Engaged Learning Grants which provide funding support for course development or research activities involving partnerships with local organizations or agencies working towards social change goals within our society today!
Overall; The Bennion Center plays an important role at University Of Utah by providing opportunities for individuals from all backgrounds & disciplines come together around shared values like civic responsibility & social justice!
