Some of the best red wines on LI. Unfortunately, the tasting room is pretty small.
Service isn't great... definitely not the friendliest of staff...it might have just been our waiter, but very rude.
We've had last experiences that were good...this one...not so much.
I hope it gets better...
Great wine, nice people, wonderful grounds. Such a nice day whenever we visit
beautiful vineyards and nice setting but rude staff at the bar! The bartender insisted she poured the more expensive tasting when she didn't and got nasty about it, very unprofessional and upsetting that she could be so rude, especially because she was wrong and gave me the cheaper wines and charged me for the nicer ones..thought the way she handled it was very rude so i do not recommend doing a tasting here, otherwise it was a nice place!
Very nice cabernet Farnc. Nice grounds and vineyard.
Pros: Nice location with a great view overlooking their vineyard. Huge, pretty covered patio. When the weather is good, tables are set up in the grass along the grapes so you can sit in the sun.
Bonus pros: No reservations/fee required. Oysters on the deck.
Cons: We ordered a couple flights, and everyone in the group of 5 agreed: None of the wines were good or enjoyable. Several tasted watered down, which tells me they aren't giving production enough time (short season wines, but still).
Overall Impression: Definitely visit to grab a bottle or two and sit outdoors with a few friends while overlooking beautiful scenery. I would not take a bottle home, however.
Friendly staff at Bedell. Their cabernet Franc 2013 and Musee 2010 were my favs.
Good service.
The patio has a really nice view, the inside is also not bad if you want more temp control.
Elissa was a wealth of knowledge, made the experience extra special and was fun to learn from. Highly recommend this place. I guess if I've been going for 15....years...that says something!
Extremely busy with lots of groups and a party / club-like atmosphere.
The service was terrible! Tons of employees but we had to wait forever. The wines were delicious and the view was phenomenal but it does not excuse their poor service.
Popped in today to taste a wine or 2 and ended up walking out with 2 cases of wine, a sweatshirt, and wine thermos....oh, and I'm a Curator level wine club member now too. All this because of the amazing service provided by the lovely Liz. Go see her at Bedell you will leave happier than you came...trust me.
Our favorite winery on the North Fork. Lovely outdoor area facing vineyards. Friendly staff and great snacks. Our favorite wine is the Sparking Rose but there are many options at varied priced as well.
excellent service the best tasting on Long island ! Reba is the absolute best !! So looking forward to my daughters wedding in September! All of the of the wine servers were excellent again the best experience on the North Fork !
Not too big, yet not too small. Great wines, relaxed place good music too!
Favorite winery. Friendly atmosphere. Delicious wines. Dog friendly.
Amazing wines, very dog friendly, excellent venue. Club member for many years. Also have Corey creek for higher end bar-like atmosphere ( a tap room). Again anything you drink is fantastic
Truly wonderful wines (their Wine Club is totally worth signing up for), great atmosphere and an extremely knowledgeable staff. All around one of the best wineries on Long Island.
They even let us take our dogs on the outside deck and picnic area.
A really great vineyard! Had their Merlot and it was one of the best I have tried in a long time. A really nice staff adds to everything as well.
Bedell Cellars is my favorite wine in Long Island! The tasting was a bit on the expensive side ($20 for 5), but the pours in my tasting were generous and the quality of the wines is worth it either way. The grapes used in their wines are all grown on site and fermented with indigenous yeast. Everyone was very nice and happy to talk at length about their wine making process. The grounds were beautiful and included a picturesque garden next to an oversized porch with live music. Definitely planning to visit again!
Nice wine decor , was late to enjoy all that
they have to offer .
It was a lovely Friday afternoon visit. Staff was very helpful. The recommendations were spot on.
Views were great. Did the multiple taster. All the wine was great. Definitely going back next time I drive by
One of our favorite wineries on the North Fork. Enjoyed our tasting and we indulged in a mixed case of Sparkling White Wine and Cider.
These are by far the best wines I've tasted on Long Island. I would bring my brother here (who lives in SF) and he wouldn't laugh - I'd hesitate to being him anywhere else. The quality and atmosphere are just better than other wineries in the region. They are doing something right.
We all really enjoyed the outdoor shaded sitting area next to the main building. The live music was the best I've heard at one of these places. We bought glasses of wine and had some free palate cleansing crackers, and stayed over 2 hours with our friends from the city.
It was hot that day but the shade and high ceilings of the patio area made the experience very comfortable!
The wine was pretty good here, but pricey - as are ALL of the Long Island wineries.
If one is silly enough to get swept up in a buying frenzy in the afterglow of wine tasting flight (or two), one will arrive home with some bottles of over priced wine. Unfortunately it has happened to me more than once out east, but I've learned my lesson and look for bottles at local wine shops anywhere else on Long Island now. They will sell those same bottles half price or less.
The most exceptional winery in the state of New York!
Lovely and large winery. They had live music and lovely views. They do enforce the new law about having to buy food with your first alcohol purchase. They sell local potato chips for $2. They are being very safe with their covid precautions and they have everyone fill out a form for contact tracing.
This winery has the tastiest wines on the North Fork. The wines are on the pricey side. The tasting is $20 and includes 5 wines. Reservations are recommended. This is a higher-class winery, which is nice as some of the other wineries have loud bachelorette parties that can be a little grating. Highly recommend if you are a wine person.
Rude. Impossible to try to get service. I wouldn t bother going.
The place is great and the people were warm, kind and inviting. My mother and fiance enjoyed themselves and our waitress was very knowledgeable about the wines, grapes, and operations. I will definitely revisit this place when I return to NY.
Have been there twice now for tastings. Great wine, very courteous and knowledgeable staff. I hope to be able to return again.
Always a pleasure at Bedell. The tasting can take up to 45 minutes when the place is packed. Beautiful deck and view. The prices are on the expensive side.
Love it!! This place is amazing. The people here are extremely knowledgeable and friendly.
Wine was ok but the people need some more time on the vine. Totally unappreciative of their customers. If I am going to pay 40 bucks a bottle it should be served timely with a smile. That was not the case. With all these vineyards around here I would not stop here again.
Wine wonderful (Malbec my favorite). Staff terrific as well
Had a wonderful time.
The cost for everything:
Beautiful and spacious winery. Plenty of tables and seats outside that are spaced out for social distancing. You order and bring the food and drinks to your table. It was nice to be outside with friends in months.
Drastically overpriced and terrible wines. Rude, inattentive, and uninformed staff. It's like the McDonalds of vineyards. These guys are also known for posting fake reviews of their own vineyard, so that's classy.
Fabulous Winery, fabulous Wine . Staff are wonderful
Sustainability and Locally focused. They even have a wind power turbine. Very friendly and helpful staff. The atmosphere was very friendly, but still classy. Their deck was very large, and had a wonderful view of the vineyard. There were also picnic tables out in the grass. They also had local honey for sale, which was a great!
Hands down one of the best vintners in New York! Some friends had brought us to this near prefect tasting room and cellar along the north fork wine trail. As opposed to other wineries who have an average design aesthetic and decent wines, Bedell absolutely knocks the others out of the park! Try their famous cottage cider made from apples on site. They re also known for their Merlot, a classic and I don t even like merlots. This was my second visit and I am now a member of their wine club. Gorgeous grounds, fabulous service and excellent wines pair with modern art labeling and a killer second floor room to enjoy! When in the NoFo - make this a priority stop!
Love Bedell Cellars. They've been around a long time, and they make Great wines. Easily, The Best wine on L.I.
Amazing winery! Great wines and service by the knowledgeable staff on hand.
The wine produced here is outstanding. The vineyard itself has a good atmosphere and extremely helpful and attentive staff. I would definitely recommend going here!
Overpriced and rude. Food onsite closed before posted time.
Cool atmosphere, great wine, well educated sommeliers. Love it here.
Love this winery. Went around tasting to other places on Long Island but none really can compare to Bedell. The wines are refined and can really conpete with stuff from Napa and abroad. Liked this place so much that signed up one of their wine club memberships. Also the staff is really friendly and welcoming.
Busier spot, but not annoyingly so. Great setting, gorgeous space, and great wine.
Love this place! Kind of a hidden gem. Wine is outstanding. Outside deck and grass is lovely and scenic vineyard.. Wines are some of best on North Fork. Beautiful inside and upstairs with lovely furniture & fireplace for colder days. Great staff. A lot larger than it looks from the road driveway.
