Exceptional food, service, ambience. I am on a quest to find the best calamari. Ive been all over Europe and the US. Ive been doing this for a few years. The Bauer Kitchen ranks #2 so far. #1 is Ivars in Seattle. #3 is Faro, Portugal. Just go. Get the calamari. Image has no filter. #bauerkitchen

Wetn to meet a friend's daughter studying at Waterloo and found this place online. The reviews speak for themselves, great food and ambience, our server was fantastic prompt and attentive to our requests. Wish they had more mains though, I try to avoid gluten so no Pizza or burgers for me which made the choice of mains rather small, other than that highly recommended.

The Bauer kitchen was great for brunch. Would recommend checking it out.

There was an incident with our food, but the waitress took care of it promptly and professionally.

Once we got that sorted everything we tasted was amazing. Really worth checking out. Their French toast is fantastic.

Very friendly and accommodating staff. I've the opportunity to visit the Bauer kitchen a number of times in the last couple of years (mainly for dinner) and the experience has always been pleasant. The food has been very consistent, the lemon & rosemary roast chicken and the bistro filet being my favourite mains to date.

Waited an hour for food. Food was good, cocktails were not. We were charged more than the prices listed on the menu. When questioning the bill, a server argued with us and said they had just not updated their menus yet . Eventually our original server came apologized and corrected our bill.

Came here with my boyfriend for the first time and never going back. While the food was alright, our waitress was never attentive and even forgot about bringing an item back for us. We also noticed just a bunch of waiters/waitresses crowded around together just talking at the front and when we were done, my boyfriend even had to get up from his seat to fetch a waiter to get us our bill. One of the worst service we ve received.

Lovely space, very friendly service. Had the Cali burger--very tasty. Friend had an issue with cold eggs Benedict, but staff dealt with the issue quickly and with an apology. Free underground parking. We were there for lunch, but I could see coming here for a special evening out with friends.

I had the salsiccia pizza and it was very good. It looked to be about 12-16 inches around so its a nice share between two people with an app. The lighting inside is dimly lit with a golden, yellowish, woody and warm feeling. I wish they had a bit more variety of appetizers as they seemed to be heavy starches (cheese and bread, fried finger foods etc. ). For dessert I tried the spicy hot chocolate fondue with cake. Personally found it more sweet and the hot chocoloate relatively normal (no particular spicy or distinct flavor outside of regular hot chocloate) and I didn't get any ice cream with it. Regardless it is a great place for both romantic and small parties.

Ordered the hot and honey pizza which was very good and the bellwoods "rotational" beer which was the fruit helmet which was listed on the menu at fair market value. The beer was really good but I was shocked when I got the bill and the beer cost was $32!
Considering this beer was released in October 2017 and was priced at $8 at the brewery this seems a bit extreme. I was expecting maybe $15-$18, from now on I will always check the price before ordering.

I love stopping by the bakery portion of the restaurant for a coffee and treat. The pastries are always fantastic. I especially love their peanut butter sandwich cookie. Definitely a great place to go on a Saturday morning before walking around Uptown Waterloo.

This is an excellent restaurant. We eat here often for dinners they have a ever-changing menu and great chefs pizzas are excellent as well as their main dishes. They Source a lot of their ingredients from local vendors which is great. Excellent Whiskey Bar if you're into whiskey or any variation of grain alcohols. The brunch at this restaurant is also quite amazing on Sundays.

Located in the heart of uptown and a bit hard to find as it s buried inside a complex

Decent service but it seems they can t handle large crowds as I was attending with 3 people. Service was slow and sometimes inaccurate orders and long wait times for food

Food was on the high end and for the price I don t think it was up to par but still delicious

Inside decor was good and nice atmosphere for conversation

Parking spots are scarce.

My top favourite restaurant to eat at in Waterloo! I have never had a bad meal or poor service ... ( and I've been here at least 50 times) it's definitely dangerous working above this place. We stop by weekly for drinks on the patios. Really great seasonal cocktails and wine list.

Waited nearly 2 hours for the food, including an hour outside their restaurant. No explanation for the delay. The rice was overcooked and had no flavour. The only thing with any flavour was the sauce. Very disappointing for the price.

Edit: they followed up with an apology and a gift card, which goes a long way to make this better

Very disappointed with the service. Ordered a beer with my meal and I was done eating by the time it arrived. Food wasn't bad, but definitely overpriced for the mediocre quality. Certainly not a dining experience you can't get at Kelsey's or Boston Pizza for 20% less. I won't be back or recommending Bauer Kitchen to anyone.

Very fancy restaurant, good for business dinners. The tofu bowl is unfortunately pretty bland (if you don t get the cilantro sauce) just a bunch of veggies thrown together with unseasoned tofu, however, the maple vinaigrette is amazing and is a nice addition if you re not feeling the cilantro. Would be curious about trying the vegan hazelnut dessert!

Great atmosphere and despite the current construction it's still in a good location.

The food is delicious, personally I prefer the lunch menu - the turkey sandwich is incredible and the fries are a must.

Cinq a Sept on Thursday nights is also a good time to meet local professionals over a drink. Highly recommend the Bauer Kitchen!

The service was great. We used the patio on a cool rain day but there were heaters and they brought us a patio umbrella. Food was excellent. Gluten free pizza was delicious and it did not scream gluten-free.
Well worth this social distance visit & meal. Thank you Bauer Kitchen staff.
