The apartments are very poor quality and overpriced.
The staff members are rude.
They are deceitful. I have a sheet showing my monthly rent that they provided. In my lease they added $30 a month. That's an extra $360 a year!
Their lease is 14 months
You pay more for a 12 month lease.
They add to the monthly rent by adding random amounts listed as "fees". No explanation given.
They don't include water, trash pickup on the rent. That's on top of what they tell you, so the rent varies each month instead of being a set rate.
Please do not rent from them - for you're own peace of mind and your financial safety. I gave them my notice to move at the end of my lease on the day l paid my rent the first month.

I don t even want to give a one star right at this moment ! Between the time I was on medical leave then after what happened where me and my kids were put in danger I requested to be let out of my lease for their safety and clearly was denied!! Now they are trying to serve an eviction !! Like wait what !! How do you go from our safety being at risk and please letting us out of our lease which I only owed 107 to eviction starts the 13th!!!!!
Someone tell me what I can do!! Cause I can t keep my kids here and put them in danger!
I was even told by one of the office staff that it wasn t there problem!!!!! I live in fisherman village!! You can t even get a call back or anything from them or corporate!!!! This is unreal!!!!!
Never will I recommend someone to live here! I m calling fox59!! You can t do this to someone !!!!!

Communication from the office to residents is poor and often nonexistent. They are never able to complete construction projects in a timely manner, even when the projects create unsafe living situations and drastically decrease the usability of the apartment. This is specifically at Riley Towers, but I wouldn t expect better from their other properties.

You own the property I live at and have yet to fix the heat in my building.
It is day 12 of currently not having heat in my building at Brockton Apartments. So that should tell you everything you need to know about living here. The best they can do is offer us a space heater. Which is fine but running up the electric bill. Also not safe to leave on when not at home. Love coming home to a cold house after a long day at work. The office staff could careless. They don't respond to emails or phone calls. Worst communication ever. Lisa the manager wrote 1 email to us 5 days into having no heat. Not once did she ever apologize. No surprise there. She is the rudest and most unfriendly person. How she has lasted this long, I do not know. She sets the tone for the property management and does not do a very good job. She and Holly (other office staff) love to run around the property smoking during business hours. So unprofessional! I know it isn't their fault the heat is out. But if they just communicated with us what was going on each day, I wouldn't be so upset. This place has really gone down hill. I think it is time for some new management. Also time to report them to BBB and HUD.

I have had nothing but an awful experience living at the groves @ 665. My door was kicked in, and still hasn't been fixed properly in a week. Brandon Wells is extremely arrogant and rude. I expressed my concern for the safety of myself and my 5 month old and have still received no help. If they had any remorse or compassion, I would be released from my lease to find a safe place for my child and I who values its residents.

I've worked for Barrett & Stokely for years and have had a great experience. We truly have a team atmosphere and that's really important to me. They absolutely focus on taking care of their properties for the long-haul and providing people with nice homes! I also used to live at River Ridge Apartments and had a great time there, too. Nice apartments and really well-maintained.

Passes up highly qualified applicants. Had their chance to hire top notch maintenance but passed me up so they could continue Negative Reviews from Tenants and continue Capitalizing off their Rent with little in Return. Way to Go!

I lived at Barrett & Stokley's River West Flats property for about a year and haven't had a consistently functioning toilet all year long and have had human waste overflow from my toilet into my apartment on multiple occasions now. They tried replacing my toilet and have sent an emergency plumbing service out countless times and this issue is still not fixed. From what I have been told from some of the plumbers the building has old cast iron pipes from the 80s.

In addition, management has lacked sympathy, been dismissive of my problems, and disorganized telling you one thing one day and another the next day. They are not serious about fixing the chronic problems in this building and instead, focus on pretending the plumbing issues are just "routine" and blame other residents for flushing non-flushable products down the toilet. In reality, that happens everywhere and other apartments don't have this problem. It is just an excuse not to fix anything. After fighting with them about this issue for 10 months, they said they would let me out of the rest of my lease if I signed a contract preventing me from writing this review and preventing me from telling anyone about all the problems I have experienced here. They later offered compensation only if I signed the same terrible contract that my legal advisors and everyone else who saw it felt was ridiculous and not worth signing.

If this problem wasn't enough, my apartment has had mold issues, pest issues, countless water shutoffs, non weather related power outages, water leaks into my apartment from other people's AC units (PS your AC unit will sound like a truck), there is no central air, their have been floods in the common hallways, thin walls, the key cards don't consistently work, and many of the common areas are poorly maintained. Long story short, if you decide to live here and you have a major issue these are not people you want to have to work with. I know several people at this point that have left due to issues here.

I live in their 7 Pointe apartment complex and they constantly unfulfilled our work orders that we had to constantly contact the office to complete! Our a/c has bee out for a month with a bad fuse that hasn t yet been replaced as well as a host of unprofessional maintenance men not prepared to do the job as well as felt they had the need to enter my residence with a fire arm visible to my children!! This is completely unacceptable and I will be taking further action!
