On vacation and didn't put my trash out then forgot to bring it out the next week so my trash was overflowing. I called Athens with my issue and they told my to put my trash out and they would pick it up as a one time courtesy that day. Wow, problem solved thank you!
Service: General junk removal
I blame Supervision and Mgmt . Overpaid and incompetent leadership. Cronyism is alive and well in Montebello Contract awarding. Trash has not been p/u 3 attempts drivers marks log as completed, Mgmt let's employees lie.
Athens services is one of the best services. It's my dream to go there. I'm 8 years old.
The guy that delievered my trash cans was very friendly. He even told me about what bins to get when I clean out my garage. He put the trash bags in the trash cans for me. His name was Tony I have lived in Norwalk for over 2 years and never met a driver like him. You have a good employee in him Athens.
Service: General junk removal
If I had the opportunity to change Wast Management I would do it in snap. It doesn't make sense that they would rent you a 3 yard Trash bin but you cant throw away broken furniture, I would have to rent a big bin to throw away a twin bed. LOL This company is full of garbage - literally!
Service: General junk removal
Solid service and I have no issue with them. And keep in mind, they will be doing their normal schedule this week, they don't get Monday off, nor should they, today is the holiday, not tomorrow. So those who have monday service, don't forget to put your cans out tonight.
Service: General junk removal
This place is very nice! VERY KIND PEOPLE HERE!
Services: House/garage cleanout, General junk removal, Electronic waste removal
Truly the worst garbage service I have ever experienced. Athens wont pick up extra trash bags because they were not in a trash can ....and they wont pick up my broken down boxes because they were not tied up......seriously you are trash company ....since when did I have to package my trash or tie them up in a bow....There answer was because their contract says they don't have too........when did common sense get thrown out the window? Hello you are a trash company!
This company is beyond helpful, Doesn't charge any extra or hidden monthly fees for any ones usage, simple prices for requested services is all. What they do for us shows that there is fair companies you can trust with a piece of mind. Always gentle and cooperative on the phone , great customer service and beyond.
Just moved to this area a few months ago. Athens has been attentive and responsive to my needs. No complaints.

Athens Services: A Local, Family-Owned Waste Collection and Recycling Company
Athens Services is a local, family-owned waste collection and recycling company that has been serving the greater Los Angeles community for over 60 years. The company was founded in 1957 by Jack F. Inzunza Sr., who started with just one truck and a vision to provide reliable waste collection services to his neighbors.
Today, Athens Services has grown into one of the largest waste management companies in Southern California, with over 1,200 employees and a fleet of more than 500 trucks. Despite its size, Athens remains committed to its founding principles of providing exceptional customer service and environmental stewardship.
Waste Collection Services
Athens Services offers a wide range of waste collection services for residential, commercial, industrial, and municipal customers. These include:
Residential Waste Collection: Athens provides weekly curbside trash pickup for single-family homes throughout Los Angeles County. Customers can choose from various container sizes to fit their needs.
Commercial Waste Collection: Athens offers customized trash pickup schedules for businesses of all sizes. The company also provides recycling services to help businesses reduce their environmental footprint.
Industrial Waste Collection: Athens specializes in handling hazardous materials such as chemicals, solvents, and medical waste. The company's trained professionals ensure that these materials are disposed of safely and responsibly.
Municipal Waste Collection: Athens partners with local governments throughout Southern California to provide comprehensive waste management solutions tailored to each community's unique needs.
Recycling Services
In addition to its waste collection services, Athens is also committed to promoting sustainability through its recycling programs. The company operates several state-of-the-art material recovery facilities (MRFs) that sort recyclable materials such as paper, plastic, glass, metal cans from the trash stream before they reach landfills or incinerators.
Athens' MRFs use advanced technology like optical sorters and magnets which separate different types of recyclables based on their physical properties like color or magnetic attraction making it easier for them be recycled into new products instead being buried in landfills or burned at incinerators which contribute significantly towards air pollution & climate change issues globally .
The sorted materials are then sold back into the manufacturing supply chain where they can be used again instead of extracting virgin resources from nature which saves energy & reduces greenhouse gas emissions associated with production processes while conserving natural resources like water & forests etc..
Environmental Stewardship
At Athens Services , we believe that protecting our environment is everyone's responsibility . That's why we're committed not only providing high-quality service but also reducing our carbon footprint wherever possible . We have implemented several initiatives aimed at reducing our impact on the environment including:
Alternative Fuel Vehicles : Our fleet includes vehicles powered by compressed natural gas (CNG), electric power , hybrid engines etc.. These vehicles emit fewer pollutants than traditional diesel-powered trucks helping us reduce air pollution levels across communities we serve .
Landfill Gas-to-Energy Projects : We have partnered with landfill operators across Southern California region where we operate facilities so that methane gas produced by decomposing organic matter inside landfills can be captured & converted into electricity using turbines installed onsite . This helps us generate clean energy while reducing greenhouse gas emissions associated with landfill operations .
Community Outreach Programs : We regularly participate in community events aimed at educating people about proper disposal practices , recycling techniques etc.. This helps raise awareness about environmental issues among residents living near our facilities so they can make informed decisions about how best manage their own household wastes too!
Conclusion
In conclusion,Athens Services is an industry leader when it comes to providing high-quality waste management solutions tailored specifically towards meeting diverse needs customers ranging from residential households small businesses large corporations municipalities alike . With over six decades experience under belt combined cutting-edge technology innovative approaches towards sustainability practices , this family-owned business continues set standards excellence within industry while remaining true core values established founder Jack F Inzunza Sr back when he started out just one truck his vision provide reliable service neighbors around him!
