I gave birth a few days ago in this hospital, incompetent staff, midwives not at all human. I spent one night in the obstetric emergency room and the next day they gave me the birth at 6 cm. They took me to the limit of strength even though I had been asking for a caesarean for three hours, my doctor had said to perform the caesarean one hour after the visit, but the great midwives decided with my pain to postpone the caesarean for 3 hours . In practice, I performed two parts as with labor I reached the maximum dilation. Hell does not end there, they take me to the ward where the midwives were also bothered to change the baby even though I was caesarized. My son did not eat for three days because he did not latch on and the midwives did not want to give me the addition. On Saturday I left the hospital and in the discharge the neonatologist told me that she absolutely did not give me the addition therefore, my son should have died of hunger .... The truth is that they are incompetent! I only found three human midwives out of all those who worked in there. I strongly advise against this hospital facility.

Great hospital in Catania/Sicily. I'm an American tourist from Texas and I got sick so I went to their emergency room (pronto soccorso) and they did an excellent job! The wait wasn't too long and they took care of me. Of course it doesn't compare to health care in the USA but it was good enough if you're on a random Italian island. Anyway, you get my point. Best of all,it was free! They didn't charge me anything at all or ask for insurance. I'm writing this review to benefit other tourists because I had to roll the dice. I thank Dr. Potenza and all his team in the thoracic surgery department. I thank the doctors and nurses of the radiology department, nuclear medicine, radiotherapy. But above all I thank Dr. Consoli and his team in the hematology department, Dr. Uccello, Dr. Salerno took care of me and continue to do it and they never leave me alone, they support me and for me it is fundamental. Whatever happens to me they are always attentive and ready and try to solve the best. I thank the doctors Floridia, Todaro, Cantarella and the nurses Mario, Teresa and Gabriella and all the nurses of the onco-hematology department Vincenzo, Elisabetta, Giuseppe, Maria, Cristina and all all always in my heart. I thank Dr. Tavormina, a psychologist who has been and is a strength for me in my darkest moments throughout this journey. I am struggling but knowing that I am in good hands makes me feel more serene.
