Our Approach

We believe that antibodies have enormous potential as therapeutic agents for treating cancer. Antibodies are proteins produced by the immune system that can recognize specific targets on cells, including tumor cells. By harnessing this natural ability of antibodies, we aim to develop highly targeted therapies that can selectively kill cancer cells while sparing healthy ones.

Our lead product candidate AO-176 is a novel anti-CD47 antibody designed to enhance the body's immune response against tumors. CD47 is a protein expressed on many types of cancers that acts as a "don't eat me" signal, preventing immune cells from attacking them. AO-176 blocks this signal and enables immune cells such as macrophages to engulf and destroy tumor cells.

In preclinical studies, AO-176 has demonstrated potent anti-tumor activity against various types of cancers such as breast, ovarian, lung, colon, pancreatic cancers among others both alone or in combination with other therapies like chemotherapy or radiation therapy.

Our Pipeline

Apart from AO-176 we have several other programs under development targeting different aspects of tumor biology like:

1) Anti-TIGIT: TIGIT (T-cell immunoreceptor with Ig and ITIM domains) is an inhibitory receptor expressed on T-cells which suppresses their function leading to reduced anti-tumor immunity; our anti-TIGIT antibody aims at blocking this inhibitory signal thereby enhancing T-cell-mediated killing of tumors.

2) Anti-PD-L1: PD-L1 (programmed death-ligand 1) expression on tumors helps them evade detection by immune system; our anti-PD-L1 antibody aims at blocking this interaction between PD-L1 & its receptor PD-1 present on T-cells thereby restoring their function.

3) Dual Checkpoint Inhibitor: A combination therapy approach targeting two checkpoints simultaneously -PD-L1 & LAG3 (Lymphocyte activation gene 3), which when co-expressed leads to even more profound suppression than either checkpoint alone.

4) Bispecific Antibodies: These molecules bind two different targets simultaneously - one being CD47 while other could be any other target like HER2/neu or EGFR etc., thus providing dual mechanism-of-action leading potentially better efficacy than single-targeted agents.
