The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel is clean and modern. I stayed in a single King bed room. The bed was pretty comfortable, however the A/C unit was quite loud and right beside the bed, often waking me up in the night. Also it was pretty dark in the room even with all the lights on, not easy to read anything besides in the bathroom. The complimentary internet was also slow, for an extra $10 you could get 2019 speeds

For a 4 star hotel we had absolutely terrible service. Underground parking was $25 with tight spaces and alot of low areas. Had to carry our own things on top of that. Completely understand valet parking was not available but atleast cut price in half. NO sanitizer at front desk only at elevator. Front doors are not automatic. No handicap parking or accessibility. Poor water pressure. No microwave. Staff were not accommodating. Asked for extra towels and pillows and they never showed up. Would never stay there again nor would I recommend anyone stay there. Rooms are nice but not worth it with poor service. We've stayed at a 3 star hotel and received alot better service and had a microwave, revolving door and amazing water pressure.

For a hotel that is supposedly 4-star, this was quite dissapointing. For one, it is starting to show its age. Secondly, when asking for a bowl to feed my pet, the staff brought a used kitchen plastic container. The size of the room was quite small as well.

I've stayed at the 3-star rated Andaz in the Byward Market for a similar price which was signficantly better than this hotel. I'll just go back to the Andaz when I am in Ottawa next...

I love our room. Very clean! The restaurant doesn t really have a nice ambiance. No offence. So we just went outside for a nice lunch. On the other hand, they charged my credit card twice. Paid through airbnb the day I booked through the app, and when we checked in, the front desk charged me for another $222 without informing me. I had to call the hotel the day after, because I just noticed I was charged when I got home already. The front desk apologized for charging my account by mistake. Now I am waiting for my bank to give it back to my account.

I've stayed here before for work and it was fine. This time it was for four days. It was a last minute booking and I was told the room wouldn't be suitable, but that I should change it. Twice I tried to change it at times they requested, each time they made multiple mistakes and I ended up in two different noisy rooms. Their internal communication is terrible and they weren't even trying to be considerate in their attitude, which was the worst part. I will definitely go elsewhere next time..

- beds were semi-firm, easy to wake up in.
- wifi was fast.
- relaxing lounge.
- interesting decor.
- check-in & check-out was quick, there was not a long line.
- selection of food or drinks was not very diverse.
- good location.
- clean.

For the price paid, this hotel was a bit of a disappointment - it was small, the window looked out to a wall of another building, and the sound insulation in the room was poor (could hear everything going on in the hallway, which interrupted sleep). Most other services were extra charges on top of the room price (internet, breakfast, parking). Friendly staff and good location are the two positives of this hotel - but I would try to stay at another place (or another room in the hotel, maybe) next time.

Very comfortable! Loved the Roman tub!
A chic boutique hotel with excellent service. Front desk was very attentive.
The restaurant has interesting ways to prepare common items, making for a surprisingly enjoyable meal.

Where to start.

I booked a weekend in this hotel Via Airbnb ... With the covid the prices are huge but we needed to move. Arrived at 3pm when checking in, it turned out that in fact the team had pocketed our money but had not reserved the room for us. We weren't the only ones, other people were like us. After almost 30 minutes of waiting, we finally got a room !! Obviously during the 30 minutes no one tried to reassure us. There was no longer anything available in Ottawa, we imagined the worst because they told people that they had no more rooms available.

After finally having our room we went out and then returned around 11pm. Until 2am a lot of noise. The walls are very very thin! I must have shouted for the person in the next room to turn down their TV (the TV in the neighboring rooms are stuck to your door).

The pompom was a call on the room phone at 4am. Obviously that woke us up. Then the next morning when I woke up I saw that the hotel had withdrawn the sum of $ 175 from my account (well let's see!)

To finish: A few days later, we were charged $ 45 from our account for taxes. This is the first time in my life that I have paid more than what I have already paid on Airbnb! No professionalism from the manager on the phone who forgot to call us back.

In short: Apart from the bed which is comfortable I would NOT recommend it AT ALL. With my boyfriend we have traveled all over the world and we have never had so many problems and especially in such a short time! We are not complicated but still a minimum when we pay the price. In short, well the first time I leave a bad comment somewhere but honestly there I am almost obliged!

Bed is pretty awesome and comfortable. Room was clean. Staff is amazing and made this 4 stars vs 3. The bathroom is terribly small and the room is even smaller. I'm used to larger rooms in Canada (even in Toronto), so this room size was a disappointment (King).

Service as mentioned before was worth its weight and would make me come back for that specifically over the room. The larger rooms are under romantic and family which I found out after the fact, so there is some hope for next time.

The staff are friendly, and rooms are decent. Unfortunately, the walls are a little thin if you know what I mean. Also, there is no parking, you will have to pay $18 to park for a day at a lot down the street. Very central area; its a short walk to parliament, and not too far from other attractions such as the Byward Market, and the National Art Gallery.

Was told there were no available rooms yet I looked on my phone and called and was offered a room. When I booked online and went in I was approached by the girl at the desk saying she told me there were no rooms and to go. I was obviously being profiled and judged . Was uncomfortable stay after this and did t want to spend anymore money here after this kind of service.

Pretentious staff and not recommended compared to the surrounding Hotels

If location and price is what you re looking for then this is your best bet.

The hotel is located in an ideal location if you re looking for a night out to go to the Byward Market, Parliament Hill, Sparks Street ect. It s also one of the most reasonably priced hotels for bookings.

We stayed here two nights and the rooms were decent, note that when requesting a specific room the employee went straight to shutting down any room request and had a take it or leave it attitude when it came to the room (you d expect better for customer service). This is something management should work to fix.

Other than that no complaints, the room was decently cleaned although my partner made sure to rewipe all surfaces just in case.

I am staying at the hotel on vacation. We got a party with high conversation in the room next to mine at 2am. I complained at the reception and the employees came in the apartment next door to my request to stop singing and talking loudly. But said they would continue. Employees dram me the solution I change my room to sleep, it at 2am. I already know I will never come back to this hotel.

Spent a couple days here while on business in Ottawa. The staff were friendly and approachable. The room was clean and well maintained. The bed was very comfortable.i had breakfast down stairs in the morning and the food was delicious. Location is great, right in the heart of downtown Ottawa. I would highly recommend staying here.

Terrible experience. I would never spend money on this place again. When you walk in the door it's nice, they give you some sparkling wine and a cookie and send you up to your room. The king sized bed room we had (802) was so tiny the furniture was awkwardly placed and the room finishes were unimpressive. The view was of a back alley and directly into two office buildings that you definitely had to draw the blinds to dress or have any sense of privacy especially in the morning. The room was freezing cold with a loud fan blowing air in, it took most of the night to heat up. The worst part of this room in particular was that it was placed right next to an air exchange of some kind that sounded like we were next to a motorcycle reving next door ALL NIGHT LONG. Tired as we were after a long trip, we called to ask for another room. The phone next to the bed didn't work. When I called from my cell they had no other room to give us. We asked for some earplugs. 20 minutes later I called to see if they had found any they brought us two pairs (unwrapped). Even with the earplugs in we could hear the rumble. Upon check out they comped the valet parking and looked shocked that the room could have been so noisy. They took the money for a luxery hotel room and gave us one of the most uncomfortable I've ever spent in a hotel. Save the money. Buy your self a bottle of sparkling wine and some chocolate cookies and check into a holiday inn. It will be better I promise.

First the room is small, In these times of the covid the cleaning is poor and deficient, the sheets were dirty with a blood stain, the carpets are very dirty throughout the hotel. the tv control didn t work. the only good thing is the location and that the front desk guy who attended me at night spoke my language. but I m very disappointed about the cleaning in all the hotel. I have a cleaning company and I know what I'm talking about cleaning.

The hotel has a very distinct look and feel. It is very clear that the property got a facelift sometime in the recent past. The room I got was comfortable. It did have a strange smell, possibly from chemicals and paint. The water pressure in the bathroom was extremely low. The elevators are excruciatingly slow. The hotel has great location though with easy access to public transit and all the sites in Ottawa.

I was very pleased with the Arc hotel. I arrived at 12pm and was able to check in at that time (normally check in is after 3pm). I was told that I was randomly selected for a room upgrade which was very nice. The room had a couch, a desk area, 2 TVs, king size bed, and large lengthwise mirror. The temperature in the room was easily adjustable and changed very quickly. The bed was off to the side where you could close sliding doors if you wanted to and there were 2 thermostats for each room. There was no fridge or microwave which is why I did not give a 5 star. The parking was also $30 which I think is a lot. I parked on the road for free since it was on the weekend. Luckily I was able to find a close parking spot. There are 2 elevator's as well. Staff was very friendly, no complaints. I would probably stay here in the future. Thanks for a great stay!

My experience here wasn't great. The room was small - as mentioned by many reviews here. The sound from the adjoining room traveled into mine, making me feel like I was sharing my room. Additionally, there is two-tiers of internet. This isn't 2008; have a decent internet connection included in the hotel room, even if the room prices have to increase $5 each. Overall, I'd recommend other places downtown before recommending Arc.

Room was really small for the price we paid . The attendant at the reception desk couldn't even tell us about the charges for the parking lot across their hotel. Their pillows are flat. Got a sore neck from sleeping on them. When I asked for firmer pillows, they told me that all the pillows were the same and an few other guests had also complained about the same issue but clearly nothing was done about it. Disappointed and definitely never coming back again. THIS IS NOT A LUXURY HOTEL BY ANY STANDARDS

Room was clean for most part, bathroom could have been cleaner upon check-in. A cleaner accidentally walked in when I was changing which was weird because it was 4PM and I had just checked-in so the room was already clean. Location is very central and walkable distance to everything. I had no natural light at all because my room faced a corporate building and had no option for regular curtains/blinds - only blackout.

Our booking was for one night at Arc hotel through booking.com , they confirmed our reservation and confirmed that our request for late check in will be accomodated.
we drove for 5 hours from toronto to find that Arc hotel is under renovation and they left a note on front door to go to a sister hotel (3 stars hotel) , we called their sister hotel, they knew nothing about this note and we found ourselves struggling to find a hotel to stay around 11Pm.

Could be 4 stars but reception is like jumping through a flaming hoop. Pre-registered but still had to fill out forms to protect the hotel legally then they refused any payment method but their idea of credit. Had to talk reception into running my card for payment after she insisted my visa would not work, accused me (the customer) of not cooperating. Guys.when you put someone on reception, they are not gatekeepers they are here to make people feel welcome.
Nice room and location but BAD attitude.
