Adlington Hall

Peaceful, well maintained hall set within nicey tended gardens. Just take care if you visit soon after rain has fallen, as many paths are unpaved and become muddy and slippery.

Beautiful building and gardens, was nice to have a wander in the grounds.

My daughters wedding was booked for August 2020 and the booking had been made over 12 months ago. A few weeks ago we received a cold and clinical letter telling us they were discontinuing weddings with effect from 1st January 2020 and therefore we would need to find a new venue. A much more reasonable approach would have been to satisfy all existing bookings and simply not take new bookings. We have now rearranged everything at new venue and won t be returning to Addlington under any circumstances.

Was a beautiful day and the gardens were just gorgeous. Had a great day out there with the plant fair as well.

We visited the hall in May. My daughter ran through the maze and in her excitement dropped her camera. She did not know where it was and was rather upset. It was new, bought with birthday money and had all the photos from her two week holiday. We were flying back to Australia later that afternoon and she wanted to have her pictures to show her Dad and big sister. I was not looking forward to a twenty six hour flight with a distraught daughter!

The staff and owners were fantastic. They appreciated how important it was to find the camera and informed other visitor and literally got down on hands and knees to search along the paths and under the hedges. After several (slow and painful) trips through the maze and fortified by delicious tea and cake, the camera was found in the maze's centre, next to the stone unicorn! Phew!

The exterior of the Hall is beautiful, the grounds are stunning, the maze is wonderful and the staff lovely. Well worth a visit ... But watch out for that naughty unicorn! He is a tricky character :)

Went to a wedding here a few weeks ago. Stunning grounds and building, and a short walk to the "hunting lodge" for the reception which offered a more modern but tasteful evening.

Beautiful house and gardens, with a great maze. Adjacent Hunting Lodge great facility for reception. Staff excellent: very friendly, alert and attentive.

Fantastic venue. The staff were so helpful and friendly. Ensuring the whole day ran as smooth as possible!.

Beautiful gardens. Only open on Sundays and bank holiday Mondays from April to September. It has a maze, formal gardens and a few follies dotted around. There is a cafe in the main house which has drinks and cakes etc.

We possibly visited it at one of the best times in the year, on a glorious summer weekend. The tour of the Hall is interesting but pretty much standard. No exceptional artefacts on display. Interesting link of the family to the 2nd Gurkha Rifles. There are framed bills from the mid 1800s. The Hall is living history, which is the norm in the UK.
The high point of the day was the gardens. Bluebells were carpeting the wilderness. The sun highlighted the beautiful, bright colours. Payments mostly in cash though some facility for cards may be available. Parking is available, and the tea room is nice.

Came here for a wedding and while the venue was nice and the waiters and waitresses were friendly, the management were much less so

Visited here to watch the Folksy Outdoor Theatre. The grounds are amazing and the evening was beautiful as we enjoyed our picnic and the actors didn't have to endure acting in the rain either.

Plant hunters fair on May 7th was in a fantastic setting in front of the Tudor facade. Had a lovely walk through the bluebell woods. The Acers were clothed in their bright Spring colours. It was a sparkling day out in the Spring sunshine.

Renovation work all next year so not taking any bookings for wedding in 2020.

We booked Adlington for our wedding day, from start to finish the team were so amazing and helped make our day completely stress free! Thank you all so much!
