Surface Medical Inc. is an Alberta-based medical device company focused on identifying, developing and promoting innovative products for the protection and maintenance of environmental surfaces. Surfaces in hospitals are an underlying culprit of the spread of healthcare associated infections (HAI). In Canada alone there are an estimated 220,000 acquired infections and and 8,000 deaths are attributed to these infections at an estimated cost of over $15,000 per patient. In the United States HAI result in 270 deaths per day are are the 4th leading healthcare cost. At Surface Medical, we are dedicated to developing infection prevention and control (IP&C) technologies for high-risk surfaces in healthcare environments such as professional health offices and hospitals.
