Pressbooks is an open-source book publishing tool to create professionally designed books and e-books. It outputs books in multiple formats, including PDF, EPUB, MOBI, web, and a variety of XML flavors. The completed files are compatible with many publishing platforms and print services such as Amazon’s KDP and CreateSpace, Apple iBooks, Kobo, Nook Press, Smashwords, Lulu, and Ingram’s Lightning Source, and IngramSpark. PressBooks is based in Montreal, Canada and the company was founded by Hugh McGuire in 2011.
