Don't go to Farmington Veterinarian Clinic in Farmington NM...
Our experience with Farmington Veterinarian Clinic (Farmington, NM) was heartbreaking. We are at a loss.
We called on Monday (11/3) to get an appointment for our very sick dog and were scheduled for Wednesday (11/5) at 10 a.m. We were told we’d be on a cancellation list but never heard back. When we arrived for our appointment, we were told we didn’t have one — and the dark-haired receptionist claimed she had spoken with me to move it to Monday at 3:30 p.m., which never happened. She called me a liar, and we were made to feel like we were inconveniencing them for asking to be seen.
They finally agreed to see our dog. Bloodwork was taken, and we were sent home with antibiotics, a liver supplement, and instructions to syringe-feed him — all for a $360 bill. We left with hope that he would get better, but he continued to decline. When we tried to bring him back because he was worse, they said they couldn’t fit him in. Their attitude was cold and uncaring.
We then called Animal Haven, and they told us to bring him right in. Within five minutes, they diagnosed him with cancer and told us he was suffering. We made the painful decision to put him to sleep to end his pain — which began our own.
The total cost at Farmington Veterinary Clinic and Animal Haven was $944.81 and did nothing to help our sweet loyal boy. Animal Haven, on the other hand, treated us and our dog with compassion and honesty. If you care about your pets and want to be treated with empathy, I strongly recommend going to Animal Haven. At least there, we felt he was truly seen and cared for.
