Youth son missed target buck due to Ringer Outdoors
Few years ago I was looking for an archery pro shop near me instead of driving an hour away to get my crossbow restrung, I found Ringer outdoors to be 10 minutes away so I decided to try them. I had purchased new string and cables online from 60x and took them in. They were fast in putting them on and only charged me $20 labor so I was happy. The next day I shot the crossbow at home into my targets and noticed something was off. Upon inspecting the new cables I noticed that they had put one cable the right way and the other one was totally underneath the rail! So I then drove back to the shop and showed them, they fixed it right then. That season I noticed that part of the cable was worn and fuzzy where it had been put on wrong but didn't worry too much about it. Fast forward to three years later when my son's crossbow needed new string and I was on a time crunch that day so I decided to give them a try again and brought it into Ringer outdoors for them to put on a new set. A couple weeks later my son and I went hunting and he had a decent buck 30 yards from him, he pointed his crossbow and shot, only to find his string fell off and the arrow went about a foot! Long story short, I took it into a bow shop in South Bend to have him inspect and low and behold Ringer had twisted the cable wrong and when he shot, the cable pushed against the string to jump off the pully! I cannot make this stuff up! Needless to say, they cost me a couple hundred dollars in string and gas money but most importantly, my son's LAST youth hunting year of his life he missed his target buck because of their negligence. Never again.
