Boat Engine Leaked Oil Due to Doug's Failure to use a Sealer
When building a boat engine for me he did not torque down the No. 3 connecting rod properly. After installation in the Boat the engine was knocking and had to come out to be properly torqued down. Immediately after re-installation it leaked oil while not even running. The engine had to come out again and Doug did a pressure test but did not let it stand on the angle it would be in the boat. He found and repaired 2 other oil leaks under pressure but not the one that leaked without running. The engine was pulled a 3rd time and a Marine Mechanic found that Doug failed to use a special supplied sealer for a Chris Craft supplied cork oil pan gasket. Without the sealer the oil pan leaked. Doug refused to take responsibility for his failure to install the pan gasket properly.
