The Pita House The Pita House Reviews 1353
10 months ago

Only time in 25 years I was shocked

Can't visit as often as we did years ago because my wife and I do not get close by anymore. But when we are in the Pita House area anytime around lunch or supper time, we visit. Today we stopped in and ordered a Mid East Gyro plate. And this time asked if we could get it on two plates to share. We just can't finish off a full plate each. That was accepted and we sat in a booth. It would have been nice of the counter order-taker to tell us that we would not be provided two separate plates, a adequate set of utensils to divvy up the single order, and that they would fill the order with less than their usual high-quality of Gyro meat. The plate came; all on one of their plastic sectioned plates, two plastic forks, and a smaller single round plastic plate. I expected that the kitchen would have served a half of a single serving onto two plates. My bad. We had to divide the single plate portion to the extra small plate having to use the small plastic fork. AND, BIG DISSAPOINTMENT > half of the Gryo meat served was dried out/crunchy, probably the sliced pieces that did not make it to a plate and sat on the tray at the bottom of the rotisserie until someone orders a single plate to share, then that's who gets the dregs. This was the first time in 25 years that I was sorely disappointed. Why didn't I point out to Zaed the disappointment with the serving? > Because when you send a meal back to the "chefs' in a restaurant you will get another order that may look better than the first, but you really don't know what adjustments may have been made to the meal order. I have worked behind the scenes in a few kitchens a long time ago and I have seen that it does happen, especially when the kitchen staff has already gone out of their way to make adjustments to an order - when it is in the culture of the staff. This occurrence here surprised me, big time. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me. I'm sure they won't miss two patrons ever returning, they do a lot of business.
