Hands Down, The Best Veterinary Care Option!
Our 11 year old Siberian husky recently developed a series of ailments that were not compatible with living a happy pain free life. After making the most heart wrenching decision to choose euthanasia for him, we sought the services of Dr. Caroline Horn and "Paws at Home" option for our beloved fur baby. It was hands down the best decision we could have made. Spending his last hours in his favorite spot in the garage with his family around speaking to him was by far the most positive and peaceful environment one could hope for.
From the first moment of interaction on the phone thru her entire visit, Dr Horn showed immeasurable compassion, her love of animals and dedication to their welfare was evident in all aspects of her care plan for our Kato. She fully explained every step of what we could expect while giving us great latitude to dictate what we did or did not want to happen. Her demeanor was calm and unrushed allowing us as much time as we needed between all steps and after our sweet boy had passed. When we were ready to say goodbye she brought out a small stretcher covered with soft blankets and a quilt. He was tucked in and his favorite stuffy toy was placed in his paws. The respect, compassion, dignity, and love that was shown to our "child" was beyond measure. As painful and devastated as we were, we were able to take comfort in his last moments.
When and if we do decide to adopt another dog we plan to utilized Paws at home for our ongoing veterinary needs. The trauma of a clinic visit can be eliminated altogether. Why choose any other option!
