I rode the ACE train from the Livermore station to San Jose. It arrived on time, was very clean and a fantastic way to travel. I noticed there was a security person walking around the Livermore station which was unexpected and nice. I paid $10.25 for one way.
I elected to ride in a car with lights on so I could stay awake and enjoy the scenery. There were several people using the tables to work on their laptops. They do have the cars at the rear with lights off in case you want to sleep. It appeared to be about 80% full in my car and a lot of folks got off in Santa Clara to hop on the various buses to get to work.
A great experience overall!
