Treated very poorly
Very unexpected, I've always heard food things about hubbard house. YES, there always full but there's other alretermatives and help OR LEAST I THOUGHT...last yr I called begging for a bed w my 8yr old daughter , they don't give out the address so I had ro go to a location on beach then call them. It was storming and dark and I called Uber...we get there , I call , and they day....IM SORRY WE R FULL, after I just spoke to someone who told me to co.e and where to go. I WAS DEVASTATED....begging to not be turned away. My abuser her father was calling my phone back to back looking for me. I was crying, I still got turned away I had no choice but to go back. ..he had me where he wanted me I have no family and no help, so he continued his abuse. Broke my hand in 2 places just by squeezing it. So I was out of work for a month. He took my car. In the end he took my daughter for visitation and won't return her. However I am the primary custodian but nothing has been in front of the judge yet. He harassed.me daily. Threatens me daily , thru text which I have saved. Uses our daughter for my punishment he says. So i reached out to hubbard house again not looking for shelter cause there's never room but I was looking for some help and advice for the situation I'm going thru. It's definitely a lot of domestic violence physically over 18yr. I finally get the courage to leave knowing yal had my back and then dropped me. Not only was I devastated, my daughter was confused and had ro wit ess 9more months of abuse. So I call yesterday and asked for the outreach center and the girl that answered the phone told ms she didn't know who to send me too and hung up on me. I COULDNT BELIEVE IT. REALLY? U HANG UP ON ME BECAUSE U DONT KNOW WHO TO SEND ME TOO. WOW, I DIDNT KNOW EITHER BUT IF SHE WORKS THERE THEN SHE SHOULD BE EDUCATED ON THE SERVICES . ILL NEVER REACH BACK OUT TO HU BARD HOUSE NOR WILL I EVER REFER ANYONE TO BE TREATED THE WAY I WAS WHEN I FINALLY HAVE THE COURAGE TO LEAVE AND WAS BASICALLY SENT BACK TO BACK ABUSER.
