Leased a space that was out of code and refused - ...

After leasing a “move-in ready” space from Brixmor in Marietta, we discovered it had unsafe, out-of-code stairs, no gas meter, and no hot water. Despite 4 years of emails and contractor reports, they’ve refused to fix it or release us from the lease.

We were denied our TA reimbursement because we couldn’t get a Certificate of Occupancy, not because of anything we did, but because the space they built couldn’t pass inspection.

This is how small businesses get buried while REITs profit.
