Disgusting and Deceptive Farce of ASF’s TACKLE Call
Our organization poured time, effort, and resources into ASF’s TACKLE call expecting something real — some shred of transparency or respect. Instead, we got a pathetic joke of a process: sloppy, meaningless, and completely fake.
The rejection email was a lazy, copy-pasted insult with zero substance and no feedback whatsoever. Claiming “limited capacity” to give feedback is a blatant lie and a slap in the face. It’s clear no real evaluation happened. Not a single applicant made it past some imaginary “second stage” — because ASF never intended to actually engage with or support grassroots NGOs.
This whole thing reeks of performative activism designed to tick boxes and pretend they’re doing anti-racism work, while actively shutting out those who actually do it on the ground.
We warn every NGO thinking about ASF’s calls: don’t waste your time on this sham unless they start being transparent and stop pretending their gatekeeping is anything but elitist bullshit.
We fight for anti-racism and justice, but that means exposing the rotten gatekeepers who exploit our sector’s goodwill for their own appearance of “doing good.”
