I attended this church about 10 years ago. My mom had just attempted suicide for the third time. I reached out to the pastor named Scott Sliver. We texted about my mom and various other things. For the next 11 months we texted back and forth. He is married and a pastor. I've never been married. He had shown favoritism to me and sought me out each Sunday. A man that worked there even would call Scott my "buddy" insinuating that we were more than friends. Scott once sent me a smile face emoji on Valentines day. He was the worship leader and invited me to sit in the front row each week. He highly suggested I be a greeter, so I did. After the 11 months of texting, I received a text from one of the women pastors that it was called to her attention that I was having an inappropriate relationship with pastor Scott and I needed to meet with her. I immediately told Scott and he asked me if I knew who the complaint was from. I didn't, but I think it was his wife. I was rebuked and no longer was allowed to be a greeter. As far as I know, nothing happened to Scott. He still performed his jobs as usual. I reached out to another pastor there, Doug, and 2 other church leaders asking why he wasn't being held accountable...just me. I got no answer. I feel like he got away with this, but not me. When I tried to talk to him about it, he distanced himself from me saying he was my pastor, not my friend. I was very traumatized by this experience. He never apologized to me. Everyone there ignored me. I left the church and didn't go to any church for months. I now distrust pastors. I hate cover-ups which those church leaders did for him. He is not above reproach which is a requirement for pastors.
